Finally dropped another vid! Great to have you back man and recovered from your lung infection. I didn’t have a good experience with variable NDs, because it’s hard to be precise with the stops you are using and also at some points there’s an x-shaped vignetting that’s horrific. Looks like you didn’t have the same problem, and hope u get to find good deals with the new lens. That’s a nice location you have there man, looked quite different from your other vids in the fields. Beautiful shots!

In the past I had the same problem with VND’s, but this one has a fixed variation from 3 to 7 stops. So there is no problem with the X shape. I also used it for a car shoot last week, to get rid of the reflections on the cars and it worked great. I’m also supper happy to be filming again 😁 I got a little tired of the flat earth where I live, so I need to drive further to get to beautiful locations. I also wanted some moving water to use the filter😊

Fantastic shots! Even with the large boulder. I think if you acheived the results you wanted with the filter, then it was a good purchase. I don't have a polarizer but I do have an ND filter which i hardly use but o also dont landscape as much as I should. Overall, glad to see you back in fine form! Hope that Tokina 300mm lens isn't completely shot.

Thank you Darryl 😊 it was a great purchase, because in the past my photos with water in it weren’t as great. I’m glad I got this filter. I also have an 10stop nd and also never use it. It also gives a bit of a blue color to the photos, and I don’t like that. I’m also super glad I’m back man 😁🔥 yes the tamron 70-300 is broken I guess. Stabilizer and autofocus stopped working 2 years ago, but was useable like a manual lens. But now with the depth of field not working, I really need to save up for a new lens.

@@JorisVanDeuneghem The Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 G2 has been a very good upgrade for me and worth every penny (I still have my nikkor 55-300mm lens) I took some great bird shots with the tamron over the weekend...it did not disappoint. Same with my recent airplane shots.

I’m gonna need to test out some lenses I guess, because I think om gonna mis the extra 100mm 😬 but that’s for later, don’t have the money for it now. Is the autofocus fast in your lens?

Great to see you up and about and looking well 👍.
    Those images look absolutely gorgeous.
That's a great bit of kit too.
Sorry to hear about your broken lens. It may be just a data cable problem.
There are plenty of lens strip down videos on here.
    Great video mate 👍

Never thought about that. Like 2 years ago the stabilizer and autofocus stopped working, so maybe I have to look in to it to open up my lens 😬😁 have you ever opened up a lens?

@@JorisVanDeuneghem the 18-55 I've opened from the front, and I did try to repair the old Sigma 70-210, but the 4th mount screw was too tight to remove. I ought to get proper watchmaker screwdrivers.
I'm just going to have a quick look for a video.

    • @badger67

There are a few videos on here.
I film myself taking it apart and play it backwards if I get stuck. Screws are the main problem, remembering where they go 🙄.
I also place the parts face down on the table ie. the way I take them out and not turn them over, so that they go straight back in when I pick them up.
Have a look at some vids. It might be worth buying new parts than buying a second hand lens. 👍
