I like the last lemon tree looking really healthy and tree like. Thanks for all your work in producing all the video’s must take a lot of time to edit them before you put them out.
that biggest lemon tree has really developed since the last time we saw it! some of those skinny branches from last time really thickened up. looks like it will be an awesome tree someday...probably within a few years
Love seeing someone work with more unusual species like citrus, you inspired me to start my own probably lemon bonsai :D I think you're missing a Jaboticaba bonsai, very common tree for bonsai in the tropics ;)
Asking someone who does bonsai why'd they prune a tree that's looking good is like asking a bodybuilder why they're working out when they're already muscular 🤣
I have a 15+ year old Meyer lemon tree that I've never repotted. I've not been heavily invested in making it a "bonsai", but I've mostly pruned it as such over the years to where it might qualify. Last year the fruit was so heavy on one side that it made the tree lean onto the edge of the pot. It flowers in my greenhouse late January - early February. When would be the best time to pull it out, root prune it, and repot it? Had a bad scale infestation a few years ago and hacked it back to nubs then to control it and now realize that would have been the best time, but wondering when the "next" best time to do a bonsai style repot might be. Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA here.
What an adorable tree, Nigel, love it! I left my poor Chinese Elm bonsai at my parents' house while I was vacationing, and let me tell you, poor Johnny was not happy! Quick question for you (and forgive my ignorance because I have no idea what I'm doing): do you generally let the foliage grow out like that before pruning, or should I prune while there is no foliage -- i.e. a bare tree? What difference does it make?
awww such nice trees. Mine are only about 20 cm by now. Started them in december in the darket corner my living room under grow lamps and moved them out on the tiny balkony I got at the end of may (still getting cold at nights in germany sometimes in may and even june at nights). Its facing east and only getting good morning sun because its roof still the littles tries seem to slightly got sun burned in the first couple of days at the very tip and its very tiny leaves. Since then they seem to have adepted to the sun and keep growing dispite the burn. I though these trees could handle the sun here very easily. Ideas?
With cirtus what is the best way to propagate? I received a cutting from a friend. Not sure what it is, it has thorns, and I put it in water. Will it root?
The only time my lemons explode is if I prune them with a hand grenade! I am so frustrated AGAIN!!! I just cannot get them to thrive. Anyway at least I can enjoy your trees instead. Thanks.
i love your hair style.. 🥹 btw, why you choose tree that have mediun leaf size? if this tree have small leaf size, it will be more beautiful or not? thanks for sharing, i hope get many inspirations you and from this, i hope can enhance mychanel that have many video about japanese kemuning bonsai.. keep up spirit to share other bonsai informations
I dont know why, but 'choo-choo' just cracked me up!
Garage sales are great to find items that you need for what you need. Great find. Trees looking great and growing great for you.
Tree looks great after the pruning. Cool Pomelo with a nice moss floor in your little forest.
Looks like the basement way of overwintering is working out great. The semi-cascade lemon tree has some nice curves on the trunk!
Love the cascading lemon tree! Great work all around and interesting updates! Have fun today! 👍
That is one nice big Lemon tree. Hopefully flowers and fruit for you later in the year after the pruning. Cool tree.
Love the citrus trees, I need to prune my 4 trees 😎
I love the shape of that lemon tree - so different from your other trees with it’s lovely semi cascade form 👍
When it came to pruning, you didn't hold back!

That big lemon tree that you worked on has such good bones! That is going to be a magnificent tree I think!!! 😊

Haha, I would love to see a mame or shito, pomelo bonsai, 🌱🙃
Good video enjoyed it
👌👌👌...!!!
Asking someone who does bonsai why'd they prune a tree that's looking good is like asking a bodybuilder why they're working out when they're already muscular 🤣
Refining maybe
Edit: lol i kinda misread that
That's a really great analogy Patrick!
Wonderful lemon trees and great pruning job. I wish mine was doing better: it’s been attacked by slugs… Also very nice updates, thanks for sharing!
Looks better.
Have the tap roots been removed from the group planting yet? Thanks, keep growing
Very nice
Looking beautiful 😍. I struggle with citrus. They always grow in strange deformed leaves and are slow to grow. Not sure what I’m doing wrong…
Youre hair style also a bonzai😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Great video! My turn, time to get off my butt and get pruning! LOL
How do citrus trees react to leaf pruning if you have ever tried that.!?!.

I need a citrus bonsai in my life after I get a Chinese red blood maple

Just wanna ask is industrial glue ok as a substitute for Cut paste?
I think that would work fine!
I live for updates 😬
You talked about hard pruning on lemon trees. I was wondering. Have you ever fully defoliated a citrus? if so, how did it respond?
Howdy from Texas, Nigel. Do you think the leaves will become more miniature in future?
Have you a Paulownia Tomentosa bonsai???
Could that red sand be altering the Ph of the Ficus soil?
Great question *following*
What brand of shears do you use ? I just received a pair of Kaneshin shears and the hinge joint is So loose, dissapointed!
A AULA muito boa só falta a tradução Pará o português Brasil
Personally I think the table would look nice if you cut the legs off at the bottom of the decorative carved part.
Nigel. Start an avacado to bonsai.
👍👌🍎🙂

Thanks Xavier, funny, be sure to use a holy hand grenade!
@@TheBonsaiZone if i use a grenade my hand will sefinitely be holey😊
Nice video! We gotta prune your hair next…. Don’t let it get like that again
My lemon is struggling with spider mites
