I live in Griffin 2 blocks from Spalding high, there were NO tornado sirens, the cigar store owner told me there were NO tornado sirens in downtown griffin which was hit. WHY WERE There NO TORNADO SIRENS ANYWHERE IN THIS BACKWARDS TOWN !! ???
I teach down there. I left work right before it hit. I still got caught in the heavy rain and wind on Hwy 16 on my way home to Newnan. I could hardly see the road.
I thank the most high God that you made it home please continue to be safe when the weather is bad. My daughter teach in Griffin and she eventually made it safely back to Newnan also. they wouldn't allow them to leave school and I thank God for that. I am always praying for you all that have to travel long distance to work. Once again, I praise the most high God for you all making it home. God is so good!
@@Livingfree4Yah are there any pictures of the damage done to GHS? I needed to go get something out of my classroom today and was told no one's allowed in the building because of the damage.
I no it tore griffin Georgia up especially on the east side and the west side it’s just ripped them apart they might be out a. House some of them ain’t got gas are lights
@@alegnarolyart5133 I haven't seen any of the high school but the roads in some areas are impassable and I think Hwy 16 is one of them. Maybe call someone you know don't take any chances . I am glad you made it home. Blessings to you and your family.
Griffin is still messed up, people who’s homes they rented are declared uninhabitable and FEMA Will pay the homeowner/lamdlord but not the tenants, who lost everything they owned.
:28 'you can kind of make out the outline of a funnel' as an obvious tornado clearly goes right across the freeway, followed by stammering gibberish wondering if 'it's still ongoing' two hours-TWO HOURS-later. Walter Cronkite has nothing on this epic genius of broadcast journalism. Why don't local affiliates just cut to the chase and start using interns as on-air news talent? We're essentially there already.
I live in Jackson Ga and I’m 12 years old. My power was out and a five year old that I knew has been killed and the damage is awful. Heart goes out to everyone in Griffin
Congrats Fox and other ATL news. Your reports filled Griffin bumper to bumper with looky loos and live streamers. The chaos is horrible and those who are helping are having difficulty with all the traffic. It took me 2 hours to travel less than 2 miles to get chainsaw and equipment from my shop.
It’s crazy on one side but everything going up Taylor street don’t have power and the other part of Taylor street do have power kfc and jerry gas station they open
Praying for all those impacted by these storms and tornadoes.
Thanks, man.
Prayers are important. Help is also needed. A dollar, five dollars, or more to the Red Cross to enable them to assist the survivors.

I don’t know. That’s ridiculous that there weren’t sirens. My son went to spalding. I heard griffin high was damaged badly
They need to install sirens!
I know I did not know about it until it was hitting the bus
You shouldn't be depending on sirens in 2023 anyway.
WELCOME TO GEORGIA!

Be safe out there
