1999 Galway International Rally

Bertie Fisher took his second Galway International win in 1999 behind the wheel of his silver Subaru but only after seeing off a valiant effort from Ian Greer in his newly acquired Toyota Celica GT-Four ST-205. Reigning Irish Tarmc Rally Champion Austin McHale retired before the first stage.

The 90s was an era when rallying was rallying, the competition between those drivers was unreal, great characters. Been a fermanagh man Bertie was our hero for sure. Had the pleasure of meeting him once, pure gentleman. Gone way to soon 🙏
