Awkward local news stations stumbling over themselves are the funniest things to watch
i work for the same company as that channel 7 reporter who got cued wrong. it's literally a corporate problem. they implemented a streaming system that doesn't always cue reporters properly when they're out on live shots. our poor multimedia journalists regularly get stuck standing with that frozen smile, knowing the camera is running but having no idea if they're on the air or not.
sadly I remember at least one case where a woman was hit by a car, threw on the sidewalk, still alive and bleeding... it was halloween and many, many people passed by, looked at her and laughed... I can't remember if she actually died but I guess she did.
People are so miserable, lmao. Like, they really can't tolerate someone's Halloween decorations being up for 1 month of the year at most? Jeez.
Karen's for ya. they dont feel fulfilled unless they bring down other people.
I love how Nina just looked so dumbfounded the entire time she was reporting on that eviction threat. She genuinely has that look of "wtaf is this bs?"

Ah yes, "negative attention". Nah, it's pretty clear the neighbor is simply jealous that their neighbor is getting so much fame for their Stranger Things display while they feel like they should be given credit too for allowing it to happen.

@@Vrikrar I don't get why they'd even need their neighbours' permission to put up decorations on their own property to begin with. The display wasn't even intruding onto their neighbours' property, anyway. Some people REALLY have nothing better to do.

Drives me bonkers everytime I hear about those weird bougie neighborhoods with a constant super creepy stalker level conformity enforcement.
Like how is setting up a fake spider web the equivalent a disturbing the peace and quiet, and ruining landscaping?
They said “interfering” with the landscaping, which I took to mean that the landscapers couldn’t do their jobs.
It drives me bonkers that the internet is trying to gaslight me into thinking "everytime" is grammatically correct, and not just the title of a Britney Spears song.

For the people mad at the doll display, there's a wholesome island of dolls in Mexico.
RIght! I was just about to mention that. I wonder if the couple was paying homage to the hermit who put those dolls up. The story behind it is really fascinating.
Tbh I can understand the doll one, but I've seen and heard worse. The neighbors in front of us once set up a "torture" display so loud you could hear the pained moans inside my house. To me that sorta thing is crossing a line more than non bloody, hanging baby dolls. That car one though eh...that def could be mistaken at a distance and seems kinda in bad taste but that's just me. I agree the zombie thing would have made it so better tho.
We used to use baby dolls wrapped in fake spider web for a giant spider den display in our yard when I was a kid. I think using baby dolls for a display can work, but you gotta put in more effort than just "duct taped and ripped apart limbs in a tree." For me, it's just a tad lazy looking for an outdoor display.
only Chadtronic could make that opening fun to watch.

I really don’t think that we should be taking down people’s Halloween decorations. Its just a fun and scary thing to do during Halloween and if you don’t like it or are offended then thats your problem. Just dont take away other peoples joy and excitement of it.
Personally, I'd want the doll decorations taken down. Those are WAY TOO DARK & DISTURBING.
The thing is that like with like the crime scene one young kids Trick or Treating are going to think it’s real and could be traumatized. Even with the naked babies. I’m all for Halloween decorations but ones that are scary just are in bad taste. As for that one on the public street in December, that’s just dangerous because if people are looking at that instead of the road or react to it while driving, it could cause an accident.

Yea that one was in pretty poor taste, I agree, especially considering how much it resembled the scene of a drunk driving accident and how many people are killed like that annually.
Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I'm an f-ed up sicko so when it comes to things like this, the basic rule of thumb I've learned to go by is, if I think it's awesome, then it's probably inappropriate.
I can fully understand the baby doll decorations because I've personally come across a ton of old disfigured baby dolls in a small wooded area by a creek I used to live by. (I'm not joking there were a TON of baby dolls just in the middle of nowhere.)

There is actually a whole island in Mexico that has creepy old decaying baby dolls hanging in the trees and what not. Very creepy but the reasoning behind why is a bit sad. I don’t see too much of a problem with the baby dolls personally but they are creepy AF!

I have a doll that I got from a yard sale that I messed up myself for Halloween. I put fake blood on it and painted its eyes black with the blackness dripping out. I also put a rope around its neck. I use it as an indoor decoration.
The only thing that offend me this season is that they are selling christmas decorations all ready and we are not even close to Halloween

Man, these are the kind of people who make me want to paint my fences with blood and deck my halls with guts. A lot of these are so amazingly cool and don't deserve the kind of busy bodying they've gotten. Halloween is a hill I'm willing to die on, so I think I'd end up taking someone to court, or at least to the ground.
The car crash thing was crazy looking and if you squint on a walk it migh t just give you a heart attack but I think it's deserving of being up. And I hate IIRL horror like this.

When Hamilton and Philip said, "Everything is legal in New Jersey" and in the same NJ, someone could've been evicted for a spider web decoration...reality is often disappointing.
Probably the only one id be hmmm about is the car crash one. Just because its not "halloween" just...a little too real. Monsters and silly skulls and dolls is fine to me. But when its something pretty real its when its more for shock value than actual halloween fun.
Yea, that one looked too much like a drunken car crash and that can be highly triggering for a lot of people, especially people who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers and have legit PTSD over it.

Had something like the spider web one. The landlord was more so worried about the yard being trampled by kids cause of an interactive decoration we had up and asked if we could put up a different decoration instead.
We weren't THREATENED with being homeless over loose spider webs though. Jeez.

Where I live, it's seen as satanic, because so many people dress as "evil" or "demonic" things. That or it's just a "paegan holiday" that they can't let their little angels take part in. My parents' church tries to push All Saints' Day parties on kids instead. You know, cause instead of dressing up like a character you like or something spooky, you can dress up as a long dead religious figure. And apparently gore is not the problem, because I've seen kids dressed like they are being burned at the stake, holding a plate of their own eyes, or being shot through with arrows, so....
I was wondering where Chadtronic went. Glad to see he still has the Halloween spirit.
Also I think that Stranger Things display looks great, especially because of all the details that would only make sense to someone who watched Stranger Things 4.
I'm sorry but if I received an eviction warning I'd immediately remove those webs, that ain't worth it. Also 10:10 in fairness I do think that's a bit much for a public display.

I had a friend who decorated their house. They had a gruesome theme, but it didn’t bother me one bit. But other people were irritated by it. She hasn’t decorated since 2019. Also she used to put these creepy babies all over her garage. There’s videos of the house on RUclips. Just search up Halloween in Bolingbrook Illinois.

My view on this whole thing. Unless these neighbors are paying these people’s mortgages and property taxes, they have no right to tell anyone to take down anything. Their property. Put up or shut up. If they don’t like people doing what they are freely allowed to do with their property, then they can go move to an HOA. HOAs love dictatorship!

As a property manager with multiple portfolios I physically cringed at the warning/eviction notice for the halloween decoration. Threatening likely perfectly good tenants with an eviction is pretty gross behavior. At least communicate that it's a landscaping issue with the tenant! If I were in their shoes then I would come to an agreement with them that decorations must be moved on landscaping days. If they aren't then they'll be charged for the landscapers to come out again for their property : / It's really not that hard!
The fact that you have the Slappy that traumatized me as a kid in the background is a nice touch
