Most viable nerf to the triple support is by adding a reduction in ult charge gather for 3 or mkre of the same role being chosen. Meaning CND, Sue Storm, and Luna can't gather ult charge at their same average rate. It gets reduced because of he team in general is going to survive with the amount of healers.
the ult system in this game is the most unbalanced part of it ngl, moon knights is glitched, defensive support ults are cracked, and storm charges hers WAY too fast. then some like spideys is stopped by a light sneeze despite charging at a perfectly fair rate for a stronger ult. it makes no sense to me that the weaker ults are the ones that charge slower

My monkey brained idea: the game balances strategist ult charge based on whether or not there's more than 2 strategists in the game. if you have more than 2, strategist ult charge is nerfed by some amount, enough to the point where it's very hard to stack multiple ults in a single teamfight. or perhaps make healing from different sources give diminishing returns. 2 sources of healing = 90% effectiveness, 3 sources = 80% or something like that. this would make triple support still an option with more damage focused characters like adam and mantis
I think they could help fix C&D by just, removing the AOE heal on the autos and just make it single target (or just raise the more broken support ult costs higher). Because it's what, 3700 points for C&D ult, 1 point per 1 hp healed, and she's healing in a big AOE with her Autos, Right click, and E ability. If your team is grouped up all being shredded, you can literally get your ult in like 20-30 seconds. It's honestly crazy. It's even hard to assassinate her with some characters like Magik because even if you do the combo extremely quickly, if she just starts autoing you, she heals herself due to the AOE, which gets her just high enough HP where she might live by switching to cloak and right clicking, which can keep her just alive long enough to get help from her team. This wouldn't be a problem if both her "safety abilities" (both her right clicks) weren't on a 12s cooldown when characters like Loki has his shift on a 25s CD, and swap on a 15s CD. Or Adam who's soul bond is on a 30s CD. She just feels like a drastically better healer than all the others.
ever heard of the story "there once was an old lady who swallowed a fly?" in other words introducing another element to fix a broken one that already exists just makes the problem worse. The solution is reworking ultimate's so that they either don't last as long or have reduced effect where they don't make your team immune to damage for 15 seconds. I suggest something like invisible woman works similar to rocket ult where you can damage it and remove the effect. A similar concept can be done with Luna and cloak and dagger. have them work like Storm where they have shield or increased health but not completely immune to damage.
I dont even think the ults are the issue. Its how insanely often they can be farmed. They definitely need to take a look at ult cost. But im also just being patient snd letting them cook, the devs are ex ow players mostly, so theyll remember goats. Hopefully they add characters that counter this meta. As a sue main, i often boop people out of support ults. Mr fantastic is underplayed too, he can knovk people around and out of them. A good magik can get pucks through ults, more effective combo characters to assinate the support thats ulting might be enough. Theres so many ways they can counter support meta, that isnt just nerfing them. Hopefully they find creative solutions, cause imo giving in to just blanket support nerfs would be repeating OW mistakes, where its a tug of war to balance everything, so it all gets nerfed, and than none of its fun
EXACTLY, the issue isnt the ult itself (mostly) its how fast it can be charged fighting a C & D that ults every 2 minutes isnt fun it doesnt even help mostly it just extends the fight and wastes everyones time even on attack where you want to be fast.
The ultimates are the only problem of the triple support comp, otherwise it's a triple support crutch. Sacrificing a DPS for a support isn't a downgrade solely because support ultimates are so overtuned
A potential fix could be more specific but OP teamups (like Venom/Spidey) that make or break that characters' kit. More options to choose from instead of just Sups
I feel like at lower ranks the comp is more of a hindrance to the team. Just played a plat match where we were losing for most of the round but as soon as one of the healers switched to dps we managed to turn the game in our favour and win.
2 healer ez to take down by diver and they keep yapping , 1 BP can ez mess up ur backline and u totally ez to lose a combat , most of people yapping because they lose agaist 3 sp team comp but when they win a game with 3 sp in their team they never say anything 😂😂😂

Nah, I think it would just be better if there was gameplay elements instead like "In-Combat healing = 70% effective" or "a buff you could pick up around the map that gave you a temporary anti-heal debuff when damaging enemies like 40% less healing." Lots of MOBA's have already had to deal with this and there are many solutions. Adding a new character would force a meta where every comp would need that character limiting player freedom.

i genuinely think it won't take monumental changes to fix this problem either. Just nerfs to total uptime (reduced from 12-16 to like 5-8 seconds) and just make them take longer to charge/ nerf how much healing charges the ult meter. The potency still helps it be a play making tool while uptime reduction along with duration reduction make its more skillful to use correctly. Maybe more nerfs if that isn't enough but i honestly don't think it will take more.
Im not gonna lie there is something really funny about playing dps, seeing the enemy have a dive comp (spidey), switching to support and suddenly seeing the enemy team do nothing brings the game to a crawl
Played a game yesterday where we banned Luna, cloak, and invisible woman. We had mantis Adam and they had mantis rocket. Was genuinely so much more fun and made the pace of the game a lot better. Could be a strategy since there aren't as oppressive of dps characters this season other than storm and maybe wolv.
Hell my first encounter with triple support is what made me start learning to play dive characters in the first place.... I'm too much of a gamer and my pride won't let me be beat by it so I'll go back in the lab and train if I have to and learn to play Magik and others I will but I know it's still hard to beat triple support.... So good luck gamers if anybody has any bright ideas if not we have to wait and see what Marvel Rivals does about it or what characters come that can combat it.
My solution: stragetist get way less ult charge from healing teamates, so as a stragetist you either: A) pump out heals and dont do dmg but miss out on ur ult for a long time B) focus on dmg/kills to get ur ult and divert your attention from healing ur teamates but get ur ult faster to use in clutch moment
Just played a game in that symbiotic map. When I tell you their Susan legit ulted 1 minute in. Before I (as a strange) (frontline) even touched the point. They had triple support so you can assume what was coming next. The fix to this triple heal bs….. don’t do more damage than your enemy. Simply walk them down and have your healers lock in.

I've had a 25k damage Moon Knight game with only 4 kills the other day. To put that into perspective that damage is equivalent to killing 100 Moon Knights
Yeah support need the overwatch equivalent of healing giving less ult charge. But to be fair im pretty sure magik in her ult can charge 2 and E and get a a kill trough the ult healing.

I would say to make it more balanced make it that depending who loki copies the longer he can stay in that form like stratigist 5 sec, tank 10 sec and dps 12 sec

There is some counterplay other than mirror. Wanda and mag are good to run against triple support but obviously wanda is only useful for team up and ult, her ult being able to pierce through the healing. Groot and Moon Knight help with it too, both ults combined and the fact mk ult is bugged right now for extra damage kills through support ults. I think thats pretty much it though. I def agree though that they generate ult soooo fast.
This may be a hot take but I think the best way to nerf triple support without nerfing healers is to slap a healing penalty onto any team running 3 or more healers, making them heal less than they usually do.
I completely agree, if you're star lord, spider man or someone else on the lower end of the damage scale it doesn't matter how good of a dps you are when everyone outheals all damage. Also I feel like Wanda should get nerfed lol
The real problem is, why is there 3 ults (Luna, Cloak and IW) that do exactly the same. I have mainly played rocket this season (not a sup main btw) and I do well on rocket, having more heals than the other healers, not dying, reviving... But I always get asked to swap, just cause rocket's ult is not a stupid 20s infinite healing zone. They need to add variety on strategists ults, like OW Kiriko that gives attack speed and shit (dont exactly know what her ults does).
I’m a support main and while I’m only play one or two right now I do think we really need to be adjusted even at my level which is not the highest rank. It does really just seem like I’m stalling out the game. I like the supports are strong, but I think the ultimate’s just come up too quickly. (Edit to add more content ) I think it could be changed with releasing certain things to counter it. Someone who reduces healing. Or maybe someone who can slow down alt charge but then that character becomes a must play so I don’t know exactly that’s the right answer either.
it was obvious that since day1, supports gets their ultimates so quick and too powerful (almost immortal for 12-16 seconds for whole team so you dont die plus you can be aggresive and also you can line them) what they are. so powerful that their goal get their ultimates quickly than the enemy and try to push it. devs need to nerf the ultimate charge of luna/mantis/cloak/invisible woman. i don't think they have to nerf the abilities, just make them rare. they didn't do that when season1 launch (even at season 0 we had the issue but it was honeymoon stage) and here we are.

Im a support main and i DEFINITELY agree with the problem being theyre up too often and last too long. I play c/d and i can ult at least once a fight if not twice. Its not fun for anyone, myself included to have to watch what amounts to a cutscene unfold in the match.
Now before anyone else points this out: Triple support accounts for around 20% of matches and has under 45% win rate, but the problem with it isn't that it's good, it's that it's popular enough to where you'll see if often while also being the most boring shit you'll ever play against. It's not a matter of climbing or winning the match, it's about your enjoyment of the game during the match. Shit's boring as fuck, no matter if i win or lose i don't care i don't wanna deal with it. Also. of anyone is confused on why streamers complain about it, it's because most of the top streamers are in t500, so ofc the teams will be more coordinated and have better game sense and awareness, so in those scenarios where it's possible to chain ults together, comm with your team that you're being dived etc. the comp is actually really strong, ofc it's not going to be as oppressive in our gold and plat lobbies or below.
I don't know if it makes sense but what if. The more supports you have in the team, the less heals and slower the ult recharge they have? Would that work or is it still ridiculous?
Best way to solve it is probably to reduce the ult charge strategists receive when damaging enemies. This way the other strategists are gonna find it difficult to charge their ultimates while another ultimate is already healing your entire team.

Aren't there ways to counter this other than matching the comp? You can ban supports or play guys like iron man, magneto, groot/moonkight combo ult works as well to actually kill through these ults. and I've seen how useful it is when a cloak and dagger applies vulnerability to a luna snow ulting. Yea, there are several ways to counter, necro complained only because his character pools didn't have one of them(magik, wolverine kind of, but spidy, bucky, bp, psylock, mr. fantastic literally do nothing)
There's only a couple ways to kill through support ults, not as many as people like to make out, only 2 or 3 of those are consistently viable and all of them are countered by the two most common tanks... Strange and Magneto
The Magento on every team shits on Iron man because he can easily absorb your ult with his or block it with 1 of 2 shields that will guarantee the target survives. Groot ult with moon Knight means you are forced to use to ults to their 2 and its very inconsistent to get a good groot ult. Iron Man also just enables supports to farm ult faster because he outputs a lot of AOE dmg that us slow so they will just perma heal through you.
Whenever I see triple Strategist I swap to Ironman, I may miss my ult occasionally but being able to kill any of the healers mid ult typically saves the fight. Gotta pay attention to Loki and his Left Shift tho. Doubt this strategy would work in higher Elo

I actually think Triple sategist is more so annoying than good. Statistics backs up this thought with 3 strategists in gm+ having a 47% win rate and a 27% pick rate. If you always have to match 3 strategists with 3 of your own shouldnt it be 50% at the minimum, likely higher? with 2-2-2 being 53% win rate and a 47% pick rate. This feels like an issue that is just annoying to play against so people think it's a lot stronger than it is similar to hawkeye in season 0.
You have to be careful bc the stats can abract reality... yes win rate is at 47% but the pick rate is at 13% so it could show that comp is still developing or not perfected or it's trash.. also the stat does not remove bias of 3 sup vs 3 sup bc does not state so we could see that mirroring can reduce the stat... back to narrative of comp not being perfect... I belive in this perspective...goats was problem or shown cracks but was not dominate strategy until later on when perfected... I belive that dominate sup line up is adam, mantis, random sup where dive can not win bc adam and mantis has ton of damage and adam nullifies the dive with aoe heals and soulbound. The comp should be like poke with decent brawl resistance... luckily meta will take time to see adam as Bridget of the game and also the comp needs at least two supports that are good enough to land headshots which I think support community kinda suck at

Every time I see another team has triple support I always play with two other dive characters or either I'll go dive myself because that's the only viable way that I see at least through my playing time to combat triple support. But even doing that in itself is very rare and hard because if you die you're cooked, and nobody really plays any dive characters that great at a high lvl on many teams it's either DPS or bust imo....

Ya I got the GM by owning teams that ran 3 supports. So atleast till gm, 3 supports is not a problem at all.

Nah, I think it would just be better if there was gameplay elements instead like "In-Combat healing = 70% effective" or "a buff you could pick up around the map that gave you a temporary anti-heal debuff when damaging enemies like 40% less healing." Lots of MOBA's have already had to deal with this and there are many solutions. Adding a new character would force a meta where every comp would need that character limiting player freedom.

i genuinely think it won't take monumental changes to fix this problem either. Just nerfs to total uptime (reduced from 12-16 to like 5-8 seconds) and just make them take longer to charge/ nerf how much healing charges the ult meter. The potency still helps it be a play making tool while uptime reduction along with duration reduction make its more skillful to use correctly. Maybe more nerfs if that isn't enough but i honestly don't think it will take more.

Im not gonna lie there is something really funny about playing dps, seeing the enemy have a dive comp (spidey), switching to support and suddenly seeing the enemy team do nothing brings the game to a crawl
Played a game yesterday where we banned Luna, cloak, and invisible woman. We had mantis Adam and they had mantis rocket. Was genuinely so much more fun and made the pace of the game a lot better. Could be a strategy since there aren't as oppressive of dps characters this season other than storm and maybe wolv.
Hell my first encounter with triple support is what made me start learning to play dive characters in the first place.... I'm too much of a gamer and my pride won't let me be beat by it so I'll go back in the lab and train if I have to and learn to play Magik and others I will but I know it's still hard to beat triple support.... So good luck gamers if anybody has any bright ideas if not we have to wait and see what Marvel Rivals does about it or what characters come that can combat it.

In low elo quickplay the mighty 4 support and 1 dps 1 tank. The healing is INSANE!
My solution: stragetist get way less ult charge from healing teamates, so as a stragetist you either:
A) pump out heals and dont do dmg but miss out on ur ult for a long time
B) focus on dmg/kills to get ur ult and divert your attention from healing ur teamates but get ur ult faster to use in clutch moment
Just played a game in that symbiotic map. When I tell you their Susan legit ulted 1 minute in. Before I (as a strange) (frontline) even touched the point. They had triple support so you can assume what was coming next.
The fix to this triple heal bs….. don’t do more damage than your enemy. Simply walk them down and have your healers lock in.
The only viable way to nerf this is increase the ult charge time. Maybe even double it idk. Any other change may just cripple the characters involved.
as it stands C&D has the lowest ult charge needed to pop it at (if I remember correctly) 2300 or 2400. It's pretty absurd

If defensive support ults specifically took twice as long to charge, that would likely fix it without nerfing their effectiveness when up.
I don't know exactly what the perfect charge time increase is, but increasing the charge time would probably be the best and easiest solution.

There is some counterplay other than mirror.
Wanda and mag are good to run against triple support but obviously wanda is only useful for team up and ult, her ult being able to pierce through the healing.
Groot and Moon Knight help with it too, both ults combined and the fact mk ult is bugged right now for extra damage kills through support ults.
I think thats pretty much it though. I def agree though that they generate ult soooo fast.

This may be a hot take but I think the best way to nerf triple support without nerfing healers is to slap a healing penalty onto any team running 3 or more healers, making them heal less than they usually do.
I completely agree, if you're star lord, spider man or someone else on the lower end of the damage scale it doesn't matter how good of a dps you are when everyone outheals all damage. Also I feel like Wanda should get nerfed lol

The real problem is, why is there 3 ults (Luna, Cloak and IW) that do exactly the same. I have mainly played rocket this season (not a sup main btw) and I do well on rocket, having more heals than the other healers, not dying, reviving... But I always get asked to swap, just cause rocket's ult is not a stupid 20s infinite healing zone. They need to add variety on strategists ults, like OW Kiriko that gives attack speed and shit (dont exactly know what her ults does).

I’m a support main and while I’m only play one or two right now I do think we really need to be adjusted even at my level which is not the highest rank. It does really just seem like I’m stalling out the game. I like the supports are strong, but I think the ultimate’s just come up too quickly.
(Edit to add more content ) I think it could be changed with releasing certain things to counter it. Someone who reduces healing. Or maybe someone who can slow down alt charge but then that character becomes a must play so I don’t know exactly that’s the right answer either.

it was obvious that since day1, supports gets their ultimates so quick and too powerful (almost immortal for 12-16 seconds for whole team so you dont die plus you can be aggresive and also you can line them) what they are. so powerful that their goal get their ultimates quickly than the enemy and try to push it. devs need to nerf the ultimate charge of luna/mantis/cloak/invisible woman. i don't think they have to nerf the abilities, just make them rare. they didn't do that when season1 launch (even at season 0 we had the issue but it was honeymoon stage) and here we are.

Im a support main and i DEFINITELY agree with the problem being theyre up too often and last too long. I play c/d and i can ult at least once a fight if not twice. Its not fun for anyone, myself included to have to watch what amounts to a cutscene unfold in the match.
Now before anyone else points this out:
Triple support accounts for around 20% of matches and has under 45% win rate, but the problem with it isn't that it's good, it's that it's popular enough to where you'll see if often while also being the most boring shit you'll ever play against.
It's not a matter of climbing or winning the match, it's about your enjoyment of the game during the match. Shit's boring as fuck, no matter if i win or lose i don't care i don't wanna deal with it.
Also. of anyone is confused on why streamers complain about it, it's because most of the top streamers are in t500, so ofc the teams will be more coordinated and have better game sense and awareness, so in those scenarios where it's possible to chain ults together, comm with your team that you're being dived etc. the comp is actually really strong, ofc it's not going to be as oppressive in our gold and plat lobbies or below.
As a Strategist player, I too believe it is a problem and needs fixed.

that likely wouldnt work. the best thing to do is jus increase the amount of charge needed and/or decrease the healing numbers in the ultimates.
Best way to solve it is probably to reduce the ult charge strategists receive when damaging enemies. This way the other strategists are gonna find it difficult to charge their ultimates while another ultimate is already healing your entire team.

Magneto ult, iron man ult, wanda, punisher ult... you have options to counter the healing stack. And lets be fair, triple support ult is annoying and cheesy, but there are ways to counter it.
Aren't there ways to counter this other than matching the comp? You can ban supports or play guys like iron man, magneto, groot/moonkight combo ult works as well to actually kill through these ults. and I've seen how useful it is when a cloak and dagger applies vulnerability to a luna snow ulting. Tho i agree that at least the rate of ult charge that supports have need to be lower

There's only a couple ways to kill through support ults, not as many as people like to make out, only 2 or 3 of those are consistently viable and all of them are countered by the two most common tanks... Strange and Magneto
True , groot and mk is hard counter for 3 sp comp ..the problem is they just want to nerf sp so they can easier to kill them
The Magento on every team shits on Iron man because he can easily absorb your ult with his or block it with 1 of 2 shields that will guarantee the target survives. Groot ult with moon Knight means you are forced to use to ults to their 2 and its very inconsistent to get a good groot ult. Iron Man also just enables supports to farm ult faster because he outputs a lot of AOE dmg that us slow so they will just perma heal through you.
dis game just needs team synergy for heal reduction. a specific hero for anti heals will be bad cuz that hero will be a must pick

Whenever I see triple Strategist I swap to Ironman, I may miss my ult occasionally but being able to kill any of the healers mid ult typically saves the fight. Gotta pay attention to Loki and his Left Shift tho. Doubt this strategy would work in higher Elo

I actually think Triple sategist is more so annoying than good. Statistics backs up this thought with 3 strategists in gm+ having a 47% win rate and a 27% pick rate. If you always have to match 3 strategists with 3 of your own shouldnt it be 50% at the minimum, likely higher? with 2-2-2 being 53% win rate and a 47% pick rate. This feels like an issue that is just annoying to play against so people think it's a lot stronger than it is similar to hawkeye in season 0.
In saying this, i hate 3 strategists and it deserves to be nerfed because balance should be about enjoyment not perfect balance
You have to be careful bc the stats can abract reality... yes win rate is at 47% but the pick rate is at 13% so it could show that comp is still developing or not perfected or it's trash.. also the stat does not remove bias of 3 sup vs 3 sup bc does not state so we could see that mirroring can reduce the stat... back to narrative of comp not being perfect... I belive in this perspective...goats was problem or shown cracks but was not dominate strategy until later on when perfected... I belive that dominate sup line up is adam, mantis, random sup where dive can not win bc adam and mantis has ton of damage and adam nullifies the dive with aoe heals and soulbound. The comp should be like poke with decent brawl resistance... luckily meta will take time to see adam as Bridget of the game and also the comp needs at least two supports that are good enough to land headshots which I think support community kinda suck at

Luna and C&D charging their ult in under a minute, and then have a Loki copy them, and then nobody being able to play the game for at least 30 seconds is absolutely insane and needs to get nerfed asap. I hate these aoe healing ults with a passion and couldn't believe that with season 1 they not only didn't nerf any of them, but introduced a new character with ANOTHER one of those.

Every time I see another team has triple support I always play with two other dive characters or either I'll go dive myself because that's the only viable way that I see at least through my playing time to combat triple support. But even doing that in itself is very rare and hard because if you die you're cooked, and nobody really plays any dive characters that great at a high lvl on many teams it's either DPS or bust imo....
