- Pig in a Fur Coat is a Mediterranean comfort food restaurant in Madison, WI guided by Chef Daniel Bonanno. Chef Bonanno takes inspiration from his Italian roots and presents it in a classic yet modern and approachable way. Host Luke Zahm stops into the restaurant to catch up with Chef Bonanno to hear more about his history and taste some of his cooking. A big part of Chef Bonanno’s past is Tenuta's Deli in Kenosha, a family owned deli that he grew up in. Luke and Daniel tour the deli ending in a classic Tenuta's feast.

Ohhh that is not a "smell" when you walk in the door...that is a " scent" of European family , hard work and family traditions" ! Nothing better than the smokey meat scent of those cured bacons and meats.
Best episode ever! Dan is an amazing guy; passionate about what he does, knowledgable, approachable, and undeniably skilled. Pig in a Fur Coat is hands down my favorite restaurant in Madison and it's way up there in terms of my favorites anywhere. The Bonanno's are all wonderful people and I feel fortunate to know them. Really well done!!!

Heading back home for UW graduation. This will be on our itinerary. And while Corti Bros in Sacramento is my current hometown choice purveyor, boy am I excited to go back!
