Irina this was a powerful post. I feel you on so many levels. Life in Cda comes w a multitude of blessings however your touch points on mental health, infections, colds, lack of light and colour, exhaustion, burnout from long hours and commute - these elements are real in the Northern hemisphere so I totally feel you on that. Smoking too. I started when I was 11. Quit on and off over the yrs but again smoke regularly - half pack a day. So, if I can share one very personal story w you about what Jamaica has done for me (as a reg visitor who stays & lives w locals) is the love and healing I rec'd after my mother was murdered in 2019. I left Cda a mos after to stay in JA and try to pause and catch my breath. The protection and care I received was spiritual even from the moment my feet entered Jamaican customs... the immigration officer asked why I was back in JA so soon and I told her the truth. She had tears in her eyes and explained for my benefit how the entry and duration requirements etc work. The kindness kept coming - from strangers who saw me sobbing throughout diff times of that mos long trip and spoke a kind word. To friends, airbnb hosts who nurtured me when I got I'll from the shock. I mean I can go on and on Irina, but to say JA literally put wind beneath my wings that trip and sent me home w strength to face days ahead is no exaggeration. So for me pers Jamaica has given me time and again humanity and grace. Jamaicans are as beautiful as their country 🙏 and I am very protective of them and their country. Grateful beyond words ✌️
I'm so sorry for your loss Kate, but so glad you found love, comfort, support, grace and kindness even in strangers in Jamaica and that doesn't surprise me. Jamaica get's a very bad press even from its own people overseas, but the positives outweigh the negatives and Jamaican's on the whole are warm, friendly, kind and funny people and the majority want to live in peace and it's always the minority of bad people who spoil it for the majority. My parents are Jamaican and I live in London UK, but I'm going to get my citizenship soon because one has procrastinated far too long on that subject. I don't care what they say, I LOVE JAMAICA and it loves me back, it's good for me and my health, mentally too. May the good Lord bless you and keep you and bring you back again soon. Blessings!🙏🏾🇯🇲
@@KayKay-l2t Thank you so much Karen for your kind words. Yes, I agree with you- I have experienced far more positives and grace in JA than what is sometimes projected by the diaspora. I hope you do get your citizenship and buy a little pce of the rock for yourself to enjoy. Stay blessed 🙌
I am a Jamaican and I live in Switzerland. I do videos on traveling and my experiences living in Switzerland. I never believed in depression until living here. 2019 is blurry in my memory because of depression. I am slowly transition back home bit by bit. Thanks Irene
Irena, PM (Minster of Tourism😁), I am happy for you. I am glad that my little country made such a big impact on your life. Keep enjoying and loving life and keep representing Jamaica. Big Up! 👊🏿💪🏿♥️
Thanks for sharing!! As a Jamaican living overseas for over 30 years, I’m definitely planning on returning home because there’s no place like Jamaica. Whenever I do visit which I do twice per year, I get that calming peaceful spirit. I miss being in Jamaica everyday, that’s all I talk about and my plans are place for returning. 🇯🇲
I've also been living overseas for over 30 yrs and feel the exact same as you do. Whenever I return home to JA for vacation, I get that peaceful, serene feeling just stepping off the plane. Everything about JA makes me feel happy on the inside... it's like you have a permanent smile on your face...:) I'm actually working on my plan to move back to JA permanently. Can't wait!
My sister I love you your family for moving here to our island home making it your own. Thank you for these vlogs you do so us Jamaicans can see how beautiful our island paradise is
Irena This video has given true meaning to the ad run by the Ja Tourist Board .. "Come to Jamaica and you'll feel alright " I think they should now do a new ad...."Come to Jamaica and you'll be able to kick the habit." Glad you have not experienced the corrupt government workers. Some of the policemen have ripped off motorists and small businesses. The wharf workers are also corrupt, they are known to rip off poor people who have to clear their goods. I wish everyone in Ja will see your videos and realize that things are not as bad as they think.
Greetings try to get your TRN and bank account Jamaican ID out the way, Montego Bay mandeville Ocho Rios Falmouth Portland Hanover and uptown Kingston is some really nice place to live.
Irene I'm glad you posted this video. I'm jamaican born but live in Canada for 46 years. I'm 54 years old. Whenever I don't take a trip home I get really depressed and miserable. I have a house now in Jamaica and can't wait for covid to be over so I can spend time home doing my gardening. I even loose weight and my skin glows. The hair braiding from my prospective is a western society way of thinking. Jamaica/ west indies don't care. They often braid other people hair from other countries.
You are so right! As soon as you landed in Jamaica and coming off that plane you can feel the difference of being stress free. It’s only a pity those men who are causing Jamaica to have a bad reputation, to love their women and treat them with love and respect instead of killing them off like birds and causing others to be scared of coming home.
Irina, this is a great video, so much personal relevance for me.....I came to America in my 20’s, worked hard for many years but things have changed. In the winter season I am depressed with the cold, eat more, I am more sleepier and my blood pressure is higher. My desk job is so stressful, I have constant neck pain. After much thought, there is really nothing left for me in America anymore. I am working on a 15 month transition plan back to Jamaica; I hope I make it.
Irina, your hair is beautiful, I love it. Millions of women from all races would love to have your hair. Embrace your hair, love your hair, give God Yahweh many thanks and praise for your beautiful hair. Well done.🌹🥀🌷🌺🌸🏵️🌻🌼💐⛱️🏖️🌅🌄⭐🌟🌍🍋🍌🍍🍊🍑🍉🍎🍒🍓🥑🌽🍆🍶🍹🍸🍷🍻🥂🍾

Thank you for your post u made me see my country in a different light. What I love most about Jamaica 🇯🇲 is people we make light of everything and we know how to have fun
Thanks Irie for this very insightful vlog...I just spoke to a member of the diaspora last evening and told him that Jamaica is it for me. I am extremely happy and comfortable here. I can get to a mountain, river , beach, city all in 30 minutes either way.
I am a Jamaica form ( Portland) Most beautiful parish in JA.😃 I live in the United States.. I have been following your videos (blogs) for sometime now , and I must say I love them it’s also a part of the reason why am making preparations to return home after being gone for a long time .. all the best on all you do much love
This may sound strange, coming from someone who left Jamaica at 16, and is now almost 55, but Jamaica's influence on me has a Youth growing up is STILL GUIDING me today. This is in terms of COMMUNUTY TOETHERNESS, and looking out for one another. I grew up in s very small Country (Rural) Village in St. Ann (near Ochi). And everyone was like Family and treated each other that way. Yes, you had your bickering here and there, but overall, it was a Tight Knit community. And even with changes in the Community since I was a kid, I still see that Community Togetherness whenever I go back home. As I have grown, and lived in various types of Communities, traveled the World, and across rhe USA, I find that this sense of "Community" that I grew up with, Helped me to easily adapt, and become Friends with those I meet.
I agree with you anytime i visit home i never use any lotion or facial moisturizer as soon as i return to the usa my skin dry out , i finally realized it's the water 🇯🇲
I love how you highlighted the issue with the cockpit country and compared to Ukraine. You help us to see from another perspective in such a simple way. I really appreciate you vlogs. Jamaican living in the UK.
There's a teacher who makes videos and lives in Jamaica. He has videos on the Cockpit Country and I think he gives regular updates on the status of the situation

I am from holland we have the same problems here as in ukrain (no corruption) but smoking ,depressions. I can imagine that your life is so mutch better in jamaica. Love to watch your videos so i can see the real jamaica ( not the tourist part) I am planning to go to jamaica in 2022 for 3 weeks and travel over the island. So thanks for the videos they show the real jamaica it’s very helpful Keep up the good work
Yes those "Coffee Houses" in the district is crazy. Spent some time there working on Arena Blvd, and staying at the Renaissance Hotel close to the district. Smoking depression is real. I never smoked, but i appreciate that people do not walk around smoking on the street. Even when its illegal in Jamaica, you go to some corners and the smoke from nostrils looks like chimneys :) ...AJAX fan
Jamaica is a very fun place to live, I’m happy Jamaica can change your life. I wise this video goes viral so that all Jamaicans can see that we are not as bad as they say we are
Love your Hair! That's natural beauty! Embrace it for that is you... God's gift to you! So many good gems for others to see both locally in Jamaica and in cold weather countries. Jamaica is truly a Paradise and she should always be appreciated and protected. "The Land of Wood and Water."
Seeing this a day late. Thank you for highlighting the positives about OUR Country, (you are one of us). Jamaica’s motto “Out of many ONE people”. I didn’t value Jamaica so much until I started traveling, and I travel extensively because of my job. Glad that Jamaica has changed your life. One love from NYC.
Awesome thought provoking perspective. The grass always seems to be greener on the other side.We as a nation have many to be grateful for and yet have many more rooms for improvements. Thanks for sharing your perspective
Jamaicans are always finding ways to enjoying their selves regardless of their situations it could be hurricanes, earthquakes, covid what ever the situation is they will take it as a joke 😂.
Once again your teaching have been so masterful and informative, each video continues to deepen my appreciation of beautiful Jamaica. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you so much
Great Vlog as usual Irina!!! You were beautiful before you moved to Jamaica but you are like a Shining Star 🌟 now that you are living in Jamaica 🇯🇲 Take care of yourself!! Stay Safe!! Looking forward to your next Vlog!! 😃👍🏽
Irena I realize that this was done in Jan, however it was a beautiful video. I was born in the blue mountain hills of Portland and it was the Jamaican way of thinking that saved my life. Remember now, I came here as a child but that Jamaican teaching and attitude will never leaves you. I went blind in the SARS outbreak for ten years because SARS hit Canada in 2003, working on the frontlines as a critical care nurse. I lost everything to my name and went down to 51 pounds and covered in bedsores. Many people would have killed themself but the Jamaican in me made me fought back....it made me strong and I went back to university and got two masters degree with the help of a service dog named Nefertiti. I only survive because of the Jamaican drive that was instill in me as a young child. By the way your skin looks great and cigarette smoking is not something Jamaican women do. I am happy for you. love light and kindness from Canada
In my circle, we would call you an evangelist of the Jamaican gospel and this would be your conversion and transformation testimony. So powerful! I am happy your life changed and I am happy you were open minded enough to seek that change even if it meant relocating to somewhere new.... you inspire me. I really appreciate you sharing these videos. Keep up the good work!!! Love and blessings ❤
Thank you to choose Jamaica as one of the best country in the world thank you with the great motivation and the strength of you to choose Jamaica you will come home much respect to you 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💜💜💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏💜💜💙🇯🇲
Great episode, Irina! Reminded me how in December 2003 I flew to Jamaica because I felt so depressed in Ukraine! Some of the friends said I’m crazy and advised me not to go to Jamaica because it’s dangerous. I didn’t believe so and I said: “Even if it was dangerous over there I’d still go because I heard there’s lots of smiling people and sunshine” 😉
Aliona your last sentence is very powerful and emotive, meaning it touched and held me in awe. You intend to go somewhere far, because there are smiles along with sunshine there, even if it's dangerous. Wow, Just wow. Tell that man to take you home now, you need Jamaica more than you know.
@@alionalopez6330 Trust me. One problem you will not have is quality education in Jamaica. The Prep Schools (private) are typically at the highest of standards. The good thing about Jamaica, when private or public schools, they all wear uniforms, and sit the same exams to matriculate to High School, and the same exams to University.
I love how Irina is always happy and positive! It's a dream of my that I will never achieve.. Respect tebe Irinocka! Sciastje I liubvi tebe I semje tvojej!
I feel healthier when I’m in Jamaica. I missed the real organic food without any fertilizer and preservatives. Breadfruit, bananas, yams...the food we get here are all tainted with something before they get to us.
I like the food. It is healthy. In Canada all the food is full of sugar, salt and hormones. It makes me feel sick. In Jamaica I feel physically better. I can’t wait to go back!
Wow you look so young and healthy now compared to the clip from 2014😄 it’s lovely to see how your happiness has improved💖 I also quit smoking when I moved to Jamaica, I didn’t enjoy it anymore and the smoke felt too hot in the hot atmosphere 🥵🏝 also you’re right about the sunshine and depression, the Jamaican sun brings such happiness ☀️🏖❤️ regarding corruption: there is an issue of bad drivers in Jamaica because people can buy a licence. Also the corruption on importing goods like barrels and cars is an issue for many people who get extorted. The police corruption is bad, they only investigate crimes if they are bribed to do so. So people do suffer because of corruption in Jamaica. As you said though, many countries have it worse, from what you said about Ukraine, Jamaica has it good 💛💚❤️
It is difficult to explain to someone the joys and happiness you experience just by being in Jamaica because on paper most other developed countries have much more suitable amenities to facilitate growth and well-being. Such a lucky thing we tend not to live our lives on paper ($$$$$) Another well put together video. Thanks thanks thanks
First to say is that i love the natural beauty of jamaica and that influence me to stay here and live here..... and I'm happy to hear that you got over your bad habits lol your funny lol welcome to our one love one heart family in the land of wood and water lol

Hello, I want to thank you for your videos regarding Jamaica. I’m from Florida and visiting Jamaica has been on my bucket list for years. So, I’m sure family and friends have tired of me talking about going. My son gifted me airfare. I did my research, found you. Love love your videos. My 2 sons and I traveled to Montego Bay in Mid April 2022. Had a fantastic time. Still watching your vids and so educational. I’m so happy you’re Enjoying your life in Jamaica. You look so much happier than being in Ukraine, understandably. Good luck and again thanks … God bless and keep you and yours ….. Thanks 🇯🇲💕

hey I live some what close to you and for me your content is so unique and amazing. seeing Jamaica for your eye is a fresh look at my beautiful home.. A lot of us Jamaican do not know how amazing Jamaica is on till they travel and realize how much freedom we have here.. Thank you.. keep up the amazing work
Dwayne, so true. I never truly appreciated Jamaica until I moved away, and started travelling back home. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to travel down every 2-3 years (sometimes more often). And one day I hope to travel back and forth multiple times per year, spending a month or more at a time when I'm down there. The "Dream Is Real" for me on this one...
I have to return at times to watch your videos. Very few on other platforms are making much sense. When I need a proper and educational watch I tune in to your channel by default. Super content, even when it is a story about yourself, you manage to place the way Jamaica has made a positive difference in your life, even while many Jamaicans are constantly criticizing the land of their birth.
After spending time overseas from time to time, Jamaica is my favorite place to be whether it's summer or winter. Positive vibration year- round is very important to my wellness.
Jamaica is paradise on earth I always say this I wish if all Jamaica could get the chance to travel and see the world and then they would appreciated what they have.
Its the only place in the world where work does not feel like work. I worked as a Computer Programmer when i was there. I looked forward to go to work. Monday Mornings weren't stressful. Although the Traffic in Kingston is stressful now a days. Thats the only thing i do not enjoy in Jamaica. two evenings it took me 3 hours to drive from up Mona to Portmore - going down Hope Road, Waterloo Road, West Kings House Road, down Dunrobin Ave, along Washington Boulevard to Ferry, and then to Portmore....too many cars.
Change in environment, change in so many things can be an awesome way in moving forward & making one's life beautiful & so help other's on their journey. ❤❤

So happy you still luv our likke island in spite of the negativity that is being portrayed all over the world. In spite of the crime n violence here, I wouldn't live anywhere else, luv my country too much. I would never ever want to experience racism which I fear deeply. I would love to visit other countries but never to live there. I was born here and feel so comfortable in spite of the negativities. Thanks for sharing Irena..one luv💙🇯🇲
As usual, great watch! We sometimes complain about our system because we're not exposed to any other. I watch a lot of international news and read a lot so I know while Jamaica is not perfect, we surely are not the worst. Bless up yuself, Irina.
Your videos are like a college lecture. So well though through. I like the spaghetti bomb ......really. I like your hair. Like you say every country in this world have corruption. But yes people just like to say things because they can say it. Now that don’t mean it acceptable. Most Jamaicans do not smoke cigarettes or marijuana; a lot of foreigners do not know that. And your right about living in tropical climate. There is many problems but you don’t get depressed for long. I really need my tropical living again. Excellent video Iris. One love.

Oh, wow, this is very touching, thank you for sharing. 🙏 🙏🙏 ❤️
@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE my love of JA and Jamaicans runs deep 🙏
Big Up! 👊🏿💪🏿♥️
I use to think Jamaica is the worst place, until I traveled i always cry to come back home.
Thanks for your Video
You are a true Jamaican Hero
Can't wait!
I know the feeling, I got to earn some real money to build my home on my piece a land this year.

This video has given true meaning to the ad run by the Ja Tourist Board ..
"Come to Jamaica and you'll feel alright "
I think they should now do a new ad...."Come to Jamaica and you'll be able to kick the habit."
Glad you have not experienced the
corrupt government workers. Some of the policemen have ripped off motorists and small businesses.
The wharf workers are also corrupt, they are known to rip off poor people who have to clear their goods.
I wish everyone in Ja will see your videos and realize that things are not as bad as they think.
Our stories are similar in many ways. These are some reason we are planning to move there!
Just organize yourself in the right way, meaning prepare for ups and downs like everywhere else and then just go for it. You will love it👍👍

@@mspoole thank you glad you lost weight.
I wish you well moving back. Most of us are feeling the same way. Wish I could spend more time in Jamaica.
Sun, sand, and smiles.

Hello Irina. Thanks for always sharing. You are my go to person for relocating to Jamaica.
Me too! 🙌
I am a Jamaica form ( Portland)
Most beautiful parish in JA.😃
I live in the United States..
I have been following your videos (blogs) for sometime now , and I must say I love them it’s also a part of the reason why am making preparations to return home after being gone for a long time .. all the best on all you do much love
Yes Portland is the most beautiful parish 😍
I think so too
This may sound strange, coming from someone who left Jamaica at 16, and is now almost 55, but Jamaica's influence on me has a Youth growing up is STILL GUIDING me today.
Same here my skin would be so dry when im in the US..when im home i dont need lotion
This is so true!!
I love how you highlighted the issue with the cockpit country and compared to Ukraine. You help us to see from another perspective in such a simple way.

I absolutely love this video, the realness, the humor, Irina you had me laughing from the start of the video. Now my son is asking me when are we moving to Jamaica I think he’s been watching too much of your videos
I am from holland we have the same problems here as in ukrain (no corruption) but smoking ,depressions.
I can imagine that your life is so mutch better in jamaica.
Love to watch your videos so i can see the real jamaica ( not the tourist part)
I am planning to go to jamaica in 2022 for 3 weeks and travel over the island.
So thanks for the videos they show the real jamaica it’s very helpful
Keep up the good work
We'd love to have you and I hope you find peace. One love 🖤💚💛
I love the smell of the soil when rain drops
Me too. I thought that I was the only person that felt this way, it's a rich, earthy smell that makes me want to take deep breaths
@@arleneaufdermauer8208, I used to love it as a child growing up in Kingston

Seeing this a day late. Thank you for highlighting the positives about OUR Country, (you are one of us). Jamaica’s motto “Out of many ONE people”. I didn’t value Jamaica so much until I started traveling, and I travel extensively because of my job. Glad that Jamaica has changed your life. One love from NYC.

yeah just like london people don,t smile. goin back to jamaica in june i have a house in st elizabeth cannot wait . love the video.
Jamaicans are always finding ways to enjoying their selves regardless of their situations it could be hurricanes, earthquakes, covid what ever the situation is they will take it as a joke 😂.

Thank you so much for sharing this! 🙏💕
I always click the like button before the video even starts, because I know it is going to be good. Nuff Luv!
I do the same. Irina is never boring.❤️

Wow.
Aliona your last sentence is very powerful and emotive, meaning it touched and held me in awe. You intend to go somewhere far, because there are smiles along with sunshine there, even if it's dangerous. Wow, Just wow. Tell that man to take you home now, you need Jamaica more than you know.
@@stevenbarrett4110 we’re thinking of moving to Jamaica, just need to find out more about education for kids. Our son is 4 years old. 😉

I think this is so inspiring... we should all strive to find our place on this earth where we feel most happy, productive and fulfilled!
Thank you so much for the support! ❤️ and yes, I believe this is the way to go!

Thanks again for sharing content. It's great to see how Jamaica has had a positive impact on you life.

Ukrainians and Jamaicans have a similar attitude towards life. i have many Ukrainian friends here in Canada. Enjoy the island.
I am so impressed in how you talked so highly about my country. Thumps up to you . All the best in the best country 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Jamaica is heaven on earth. It’s great to see you are experiencing it.
When I lived there, I felt like I was on a permanent vacation and had that feeling you get from going on vacation. I can't wait to get back there.
