HIDDEN MICKEY:
A Mickey Mouse doll can be seen peeking out of the bag of toys as Santa Claus is saying goodbye.
Santa Claus: [Reading letter]
"Dear Santy Claus,
I'm Billy Brown
Here's a list I've jotted down:
I want a giraffe and a duck and a whale
A cow and a pig with a seven-foot tail
A tiger that roars and a leopard with spots
A barrel of monkeys, a pony who trots
I want a baboon, a dog that'll bark
A walrus, a herring, a hog and a shark."
Ha! I'll give him Noah's Ark.
Elf: But Billy Brown, for seven years, hasn't washed behind his ears.
Santa Claus: Well, ha-ha, there's still some hope. I'll just add a cake of soap. Кино
90 years old and still gold

Same!
Hope you are seeing this now in Christmas
You know this has racism in it💀
I’m 67 and thought I knew all things Disney (at least the way they used to be) but I’ve never seen this before! I’m delighted to have found this jewel!
This brings back warm memories of my late grandfather, near Christmas time he and I would watch this on an old VHS tape.

What's a VHS
@@timngim583 ask your parents😄
A type of video cassette. VHS was more popular than its' rival Betamax but I don't know why.

There's nothing like the classics to cheer you up on a gloomy day. 💕
I couldn't agree with that statement more. You are never too old for things that make you happy.
I love gloom and rain. It's the sun that depresses me, being Nevada is a bone dry state.
Temporary cheer you up
@@FarmersAreDummies rain ain't gloomy though. Aye, gloom sometimes is good on occastion, in fact many cinema and novels are based upon that kind of themes but, rain really is not gloomy always. Rain and snow do have so much different feelings, atmospheres and themes to them.

In Sweden we watch Disney shorts on christmas eve, and this is probably the most famous one of them.
But in sweden the *horribly racist* black doll -bit is cut out - even if the stores are full of them?
Where's the multicultural logic here?
Richard Twat There is alot of oversensitive twats over here sadly enough
Richard Twat
Some if us has completely lost their senses......sorry to say
Smellier Moans the funny thing is that the clip did never say that it was a jew. It is just everybody watching it that is racist because they assume "long nose well that has to be jew"
clwireg tjo mannen
It warms my heart and many , many christmassy memories come floating back.
I feel like being at home with parents and brother and sister.
It smells of ginger biscuits, chocolate, candles of the CHRISTMAS TREE , it's warm, cosy, one is completely happy listening to the carols, while playing with a new toy or reading in a new book.
I watched this when I was a child every Christmas. So many memories!😍
"But Billy has for 7 years hasn't washed behind his ears."
"Well, there's still some hope, I'll add a cake of soap."
For some reason, I like that line. XD Very wholesome.
Yeah, he's implying that Billy is a good kid, just has a few flaws that he hopes too help him with.
I’ve had that line in my head since I was about 7 myself
1:57 😂😂
NO WAY! My sibs and I adore this cartoon. Our favorite scene starts at 2:07, in which the elf takes Billy’s Christmas list from Santa and skips toward the factory singing the chorus (as you state), “a case of soap.” What’s hysterical to me now is that we’ve been singing the chorus as, “a cake-up hope,” for more than 30 years because we couldn’t understand Santa’s words. But you know what, the memories from childhood associated with this cartoon are priceless, so we’re gonna keep singing, “a cake-up hope,” just for the pure joy and laughter that scene has brought us throughout the years.
Thank you to the user for uploading the video, and thank you, too, to the author of this post for the lyrics!
Just PRICELESS
I like to think that Santa have the kid a Noah’s ark toy
My grandmother turned 90 this year, she was born 8 months before this came out. I watched it as a kid in the 80s and am sharing it with my own children now.
I love this Santa. His laugh is awesome.
Y’all know this has racism in it💀
@@bacontheclown2502It was 1932.
The noises in this cartoon have never left my brain since I was a toddler over three decades ago, there are so many points whenever I rewatch it where I feel such immediate and powerful nostalgia. Obviously, some of this hasn’t aged super well! But, well, a product of its era, one we can aim to learn from for the better.
Love this cartoon. Me and my brother use to watch it every Christmas Eve ❤️
Girl's bathroom: Omg I hope Kevin noticed me
Boy's bathroom: 3:18
I'm 16, my mom is 40, my grandma is 65, and we still watch it every year in a collection
This is awesome. To an audience in the early 1930's the vivid colors must've been amazing.
No colors then kid...lol
@@georgewashington3393 Wrong - sure it was in colour from the start, and this was one of the very first to bring the colour palette to animated toons. And yes, this is a brilliant piece with so many inspired moments (great choice of music, too!)
@@georgewashington3393 You're wrong, kid. This was made in Technicolor, which dates back to 1916. You think this was colorized??? Anybody who's been unfortunate enough to watch a colorized film would know the difference.

I’ve finally found this clip after a long time I was searching for it. Last time I saw it I was 7 and now I am 23. How nostalgic!
I love the old school animation,...it's a dying art today , in a world obsessed and over indulged in CGI,.....I may be old fashioned in my views and tastes, but the old animation was a real labour of love,...and the dedication to the craft , gave us some stunning animated classics from the 1940s up to the 80s......
CGI has a real labor and love for the craft as well but there is a warmth and soul to these old school cartoons that CGI just can't match.
Yes me too. I miss all handdrawn Disney movies. They were obvious as breathing
I couldn't agree more. Today cartoons are all the same.
90s and 2000s was awesome as well. Forgot SpongeBob or Avatar Aang?
@@italodalmasneto1701 If anything, now there are a lot of styles while 60 years ago there was only the the Disney style. No clue what you're taking about

@@johnboy4025 A long sequence of many varieties of dolls come marching in, such as a black marching band, wooden soldiers better known as Radio City Rejects, several penguins, an elephant, a donkey, two oriental dolls blowing their hair straight up, a Charlie Chaplin doll with a cop, a black doll on a donkey cart, Noah's ark, a few ducks, tumbling teddy bears, two piggy banks, a Russian dancer, and a jack-in-the-box.
I used to watch this every Christmas on Swedish TV as a child (and I still do to this day as an adult).
The scene starting from 4:19 always brings slight tears of joy in my eyes - every single time I see it. When the toy soldiers and penguins march in rhythm to Schuberts music it makes me happy and elicits a strong nostalgic response of my childhood.
I always watch this every Christmas. It 's better than Elf or A Christmas Story. I want to see it in French.

@@musimages23 If you are referring to the dancing bearded man in the green outfit and bouncing hat, that was my favorite character as a kid. While I love this cartoon dearly, the ethnic depictions are somewhat a relic of a different time. I like to think it adds to the vintage nature of it. 🤷

Between 1:09 & 2:12 was the best scene where Santa is opening letters and how he just uses his finger like scissors to open up envelopes to read letters from little children and the elf master letting Santa know how good they were.

The elf using the spider on the string is one of my favorite parts. I love how they how everything in Santa's workshop runs like a well oiled machine. All the elves are hard at work and take great pride in what they do. As of course does Santa Claus reading the letters from all the boys and girls from all over the world. Also checking to see every toy runs like clockwork.
