I love your content man, if it weren't for you I would have stopped playing guitar years ago. Thank you for providing your knowledge to us, we appreciate your teaching.
I’m pretty sure everything little thing i know about guitar is because of this man thank you so much Carl you deserve much much more subs and attention :)
Depends on interest. For rock, yeah because you had Sabbath, zepplin, skynrd etc.Whereas 80s were better for heavier stuff priest, maiden,Metallica, megadeth
I kinda disagree with ya Ernest....I see the 70's as when people started to realize how great all the English bands were and the surge of great stuff just starting in America....the 80's were just crazy out of control.....I'm an old fuck and my first concert was Led Zeppelin in 1975 followed by Pink Floyd in 1976....the 80's were off the hook wild....either way bro I am glad I lived to appreciate over 150 live shows...take care
I'm just here to like the video as usual. Can't thank you enough for your Metallica tutorials so I try to like your every video even if I don't watch them. Keep it up!
I love you, Carl. Helped teach me guitar and make a lot of progress. You are amazing in so many ways. Thank you so much for everything, you are an amazing person.
Very cool video Carl. Love getting your perspective on so many things guitar/music. I'm also in LA and would love to run into you at a concert here in LA to personally thank you for the great lessons and guitar teaching you share with all of us.
Carl, I've learned so many great songs from you. I would like to thank you, but also ask if you'd ever consider making Alter Bridge song lessons in the future?
I've been playing and practicing acoustic guitar for about 3 years. It's my favorite thing to do. Most of the time, tears trickle involuntary and happens in even happy songs, not crying, but it doesn't stop until I am finished most of the time. I play by ear and do use a lot of bar chords and can find notes and sometimes look them up to save time. Have you ever heard of this before? Any input appreciated. Your lessons are great!
You just reminded me that I've seen Living Colour. I saw the Steel Wheels tour. It was actually one of the last live shows I saw. Kind of points out the age gap between us.
Thanks a lot Carl for all your amazing lessons. I would like to see some Avenged Sevenfold stuff, especially the songs Afterlife, Wicked End and M.I.A.
I really enjoyed this Carl! I’m the same as you with regard to the one artist/band I have not seen that I would like to (Gilmour/Floyd). I have seen Roger Waters twice, and that was great, beyond great, but I’m all about David.. One of my top players for sure. I’m jealous you met Eddie. At my end I think the coolest meeting of a guitar player experience I’ve ever had was when I met SRV. I was fortunate in that he was no longer using when I met him and it was a great experience. Sadly it was just a few months before he died in the crash.
Carl, if you ever go back to Iron Maiden, unless you don’t like the song, could you please take a look at Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, thanks for being the best teacher
Hey Carl! Just about back. Lost internet for only a day, but had a hard time with only moving across the "big street" because Blackberry kitty girl keeps going back to the east side to sleep in the woods and then comes back early morning for food and loving (I like to practice my guitar best then) and I already tried buttering up her paws and keeping her in. Started off learning note names and then that blew up when everything moved, however I'm still coming to rejoin the academy most ricky tick (hope you have my new lessons), but if you have any advice on Blackberry it would help. Thanks! Dave,
Hi Carl, firstly I want to thank you for all the work you do and for all the great songs you teach, I'm a decent guitarist because of you. Then I'd like to ask if you can do a lesson on "Banned in D.C." by Bad Brains. I know you haven't done any hardcore punk song, but it's a great one and you could do a great tutorial on it, and there are few lessons online. Cheers from Italy! P.S. Sorry for my bad english
Eh Les Pauls are better. I love strats don’t get me wrong, I have a ‘59 and ‘62 RI.. but nothing beating my 1960 Les Paul Custom. Especially with those fretless wonder frets :)

The '80s were my gigging prime, but I'd have to say the '70s was the peak era for modern music.
