- Traxxas actually surprised me with this one! The new TRX-4M High Trail Chevy K10 is here, and it's a real winner! It comes fully loaded with taller tires, a lift kit, headlights, and a beautiful plastic hardbody, decked out with scale details! I take it for a test run and give it a full review.

Are the 4m bodies all interchangeable? I want the defender but I like the high lift kit
@@businessraptor134 no, the Chevy has a longer wheelbase and different chassis plastic parts.

@businessraptor127 I have both no they are not interchangeable the high trail is alittle longer but u can buy the defender and buy the lift kit shock towers and the tires for the high trail fit directly on the stock rims of the defender

Tires are the Baja Pro XS, the street legal version of the Baja Pro X. It’s what JConcepts’ Tusks and Injora’s Swamp Stompers (say that 5 times fast) are based on. I think these are the first actual licensed Baja Pro XS in any scale

I have five 1/10 crawlers/trail trucks, but with work and family life taking up most of my time my two TRX4Ms have quickly become my favorite rigs for a quick crawl fix. I’m def interested in this one too! I hate mud, but might just like it a bit more with one of these. All of my Traxxas vehicles have been my most reliable and headache free rigs
This looks like a great addition to the 4m lineup, i hope to see the f-150 high trail join the lineup soon! I will be all over that one!

This looks fantastic. I have a TRX4M Bronco and it was the best entry into the RC hobby I could have possibly had, expanding the line is a fantastic move on their part.

@@willyjimmy8881 I have. It was neat, the two speed transmission was pretty cool, but the TRX4m is definitely built to be more durable, and the oil filled shocks and longer wheelbase make a big difference.

I took a double take at the thumbnail "Didn't they release this a while ago?" before I realized this was 1/18th.
This looks awesome, I run the stock gearing on my bronco because crawl one is slooooow and I haven't burned a motor yet.
I think 1/24th to 1/18th is great for scale builds, because they don't have any performance anyway and you can fit more on the shelves 😆
Their performance is scaled down. I run insane lines on a 24 but they are specific lines. I find more spots to crawl with the smaller trucks in my area so my preference is easy.
Performance is relative. The 1:1 guys talk the same sort of trash on 1/10.
Honestly on clean rocks a trx-4m with heavier front wheels is pretty good, but on a forest trail some pinecones can stop it. Great looking and very portable but it's a very different experience to a 1/10th, but so is a SCX6 (probably, I don't have one)

This little truck was awesome straight out of the box! 1st day, I put steel wheels slightly higher with S5 rubber and soft foam. Added brass wheel weights and brass dif covers. It goes as many places as my $1700 fully upgraded Bronco TXRM! It is a little tippy going sideways, but I'll make it better. Quick fix for light seeping through body is black electric tape placed around headlight buckets. I highly recommend this 1/18! I put it in my bike bag and hit the trails and rocks.

I just bought my little brother a trx4m bronco like a week ago and they come out with this!!
I think it really compliments the 'm' line and goes with the same philosophy Traxxas used with the TRX-4. Clear windows, though, what was Traxxas thinking, lol! I think the increased ground clearance will outweigh any concerns about a high cg.
I’ll probably get it once available and slam it down to a scale stock look and put tiny tires on it. There will be interiors a available soon enough.
It’s nice to have Traxx as a option especially for anyone living in an area that could really need them but overall not for most.
A dude in our neighborhood when I was a kid had a lifted 74 k10 with 35’s on it, in hugger orange, looked just like this. Excellent job trax ass

Living in northern Canada, That spring crust with the trx4 traxx is sooo satisfying. I get it they build up with snow in the powdery conditions, and they bind if trying to climb a vertical obstacle or something, but some vehicle track setups will do the same! The tracks kick ass!

I just got one of these a few days ago. I'm very happy with it. Already have a low gear kit, longer shocks and a brass transmission mount on the way. Btw the light bar comes apart and has provisions for wiring and LED bulbs

As a retired Australian I can see the potential for many hours of painting- weathering etc. I personally don’t think it’s a size / scale I would be comfortable walking behind outdoors “in public “ .

To fix the light leak I just used some black acrylic paint paint bushes on the inside a few layers and it was fixed

Shorter shock towers, larger tires, longer rear links and driveshaft. Same shocks and every other difference else is cosmetic. I'm not complaining. The HT looks great, but it's not THAT different.

Just got my first rc trucks the other days and I went with the Traxxas trx4m high trail edition but I wanted to be different and got the f-150 ranger xlt picked up truck.......and I freaking love it!! I'm new to the space and enjoying it 😉

I see fools on other pages buying this truck and then lowering it and basically making it the non High Trail version. Which they could have bought in the first place. I have one of these and I love it. It's not meant to be a "rock crawler" it's an obstacle stomper. Sheesh people learn to apply the right tools to the right job. Great video man. Thanks. This really came out of left field. This one really fits the TRXM line really well. I like that this came as a high trail, but I would probably make it a standard height if I got one. Great details!
If I can snag one the special editions I'd keep the lift, otherwise I'll wait for the body set and bumpers to become available
I didn’t hear anything about this being a special addition. My LHS heard that the high trail will be the standard coming from traxxas. This is the first release I’ve seen after he told me and I think his source may be correct. Their two previous releases were the blazer and sport high trails.

It seems like a color molded body with clear windows is a heck of a lot more difficult than masked off and painted one? Heck traxxas is fine if you know what you’re after.
