I've been using meat church rubs for the last 2 or 3 years. They are all great but the black label gospel has become my favorite. It's great on everything.

Did a pork butt as well this weekend. Used the honey hot hog. One of the best I’ve done!

Did you use just the hot honey or add another rub?

@@chillwill2673 I mix it with Bad Byron’s Butt Rub. (Costco-very inexpensive and good!). It’s a really nice combo!

I have been using Meat Church for years. For me there is no better rubs. I live In Pennsylvania and plants go to his store in Texas. Matt Pitman is the God of bbq.

I use them also. The honey hog is great for ribs. I need to try the fajita seasoning they have.

You’ll have to do Texas Sugar on pork ribs! My favorite rub by far.

Thanks! Mic was struggling with the wind. Meat Church does a great job with their products…Holy Voodoo and Hot Honey Hog are staples in our outdoor bbq area.

My only problem with MeatChurch is that the first ingredient is almost always sugar, and if it's not the first ingredient it's gonna be in the top three guaranteed. They need to cool it on the sugars and artificial stuff.

I would disagree you can't go wrong with black one The Gospel. I've seen multiple reviews where ppl say its their least favourite, same for me. I ended up mixing it with Holy Cow to get the Holy Gospel. Holy Gospel has some little weirdness from the Gospel but its a lot more manageable. What I think is the problem is too much Celery in Gospel, might be something else tho.

I am looking for sweet rub not spicy

The Honey Hog and the Texas Sugar are two sweeter rubs from Meat Church.

  • @Rebel-Rouser

The Texas sugar has more of a cumin forward flavor than a sweet flavor in my opinion.

I used Holy Gospel now for 6 months. Hate it. Tossed it out. Holy Voodoo first Impressions again not good. Will keep trying but I believe it will have the same ending as Holy Gospel.

OMG, in the name of Jesus NO! Received a 5 pack of meat church seasonings as a gift box... Note to flamers: get your soapboxes' ready. Even though the first ingredient was listed as salt and I am against oversalting, I used it anyway. I am a seasoned barbecue/smoking fanatic & I understand the need for salt in tenderness and flavor, but Holy Voodoo is absolutely inedible. If this is Texas BBQ, then Texas BBQ needs work. Promptly given to a neighbor who is a saltaholic. Smoked two racks of ribs, one with holy voodoo & one with honey hog BBQ. No other seasonings at all, no binders. The honey hog BBQ was not too bad... Now I'm worrying about ruining food with the other three.
