Old music was creepy and atmospheric. New one is cool and epic. Like flash isaac is scared for his life, running away from mom. While rebirth isaac is pissed and wants revenge on mom for trying to kill him. Pretty fitting if you think about it, there's a lot of endings with issac turning into a devil and stuff.
I still consider it like an A tier on repemtance, after all its controlled bombs, a few dmg ups and tears up and you get to boss rush with no time, still better than Dr. Fetus when you actually have to avoid your own tears unless you get pyromaniac, which is a small chance to get both of these in one run..m
@@Kalashimi Bombs are ignoring boss armor in repentance so with Epic Fetus or Dr. Fetus and some good synergy, bosses become a joke. Ipecac&Dr. Fetus is one of my favorites

the fact that you got epic fetus by just rerolling the secret room's item makes me so jelly cause i never got epic fetus myself, and i also thought epic fetus was only part of the treasure room item pool, isn't it?
in flash isaac it was part of both the item room and secret room pool, and in repentance they added it back to the secret room pool because they want to make the game more like flash (which i am a HUGE fan of, those old transition screen sprites always looked off to me and Cain is so much fun now thanks to the lucky foot reversion)
Epic Fetus in this game is only part of the Secret Room pool, actually. I have to reset tons of times to find the secret room, then it's a 1 in 5 chance for an item pedestal, and then it requires decent RNG to find Epic Fetus or to roll into it. I reset for Epic Fetus, and the RNG for that or the rest of the run is not usual.
I might be wrong, but I heard they moved it just to the secret room pool in Repentance! It would make sense if they did, the item’s ridiculously powerful (but fun)
I can't speak for what it would be like if I were new to rebirth/repentance today, but the whole atmosphere in the flash version used to creep me out like crazy. The vibe after the release of Rebirth just doesn't do the same thing for me

In this game, quad shot doesn't affect Epic Fetus. I didn't take those devil room items since 1) I don't need them, so it'd be a waste of time to pick them 2) I could desire an angel room instead later on for scapular or the Bible and 3) if I am going to get a future devil room that I want to check for the Shovel, I don't want it to be Krampus, so I'm going to avoid taking early devil deals to minimize the chance for Krampus. I maybe could've taken the Mark and banked on getting lucky with not finding Krampus and finding the Shovel later on, but I don't really think of it like that since I'm not sure if that's worth it since the Bible can be so valuable and I get enough chances ruined to not get the Shovel as is.
It would have been a waste of time to. In the original game, picking up quad shot doesn't give me four Epic Fetus missiles per shot. It doesn't actually do anything to Epic Fetus. There are no items that can affect the Epic Fetus missiles. Mom's eye and/or Loki's horns allow me to shoot a few /tears/ every so often when I fire a missile, but nothing else affects it and even that is negligible in runs like these.
