Shrimp Fried Rice on the Flat Top Grill - (Camp Chef Griddle Shrimp Fried Rice)

- Shrimp Fried Rice on the flat top grill is one of the quickest and easiest recipes to make on the Blackstone or Camp Chef griddle. Start with cooked white rice (I like to use jasmine rice) that has been cooled and you'll have delicious fried rice in under 10 minutes. Just add chopped sauteed onion, 1 bag of frozen peas and carrots, and peeled and deveined shrimp to the flat top grill.
Then, fry the cooked white rice on your flat top grill with some soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix the rice with the veggies and shrimp and you've got a quick and flavorful fried rice dinner, great for the Japanese hibachi lovers in your family. We like to drizzle our fried rice with a little store bought Yum Yum sauce... Yum Yum!

That's one of my all time flat top faves. Looks delicious.
This is really helpful !!!! Easiest I've found ever. Thank you!!
Looks delicious!!!
Thanks
I've been following you since I got my flat top. I've used s few recipes of yours and this is by far the best one yet. Quick easy and family enjoyed.
Thats awesome.
Great video Flat Top King. You make it look so simple and so tasty. A big CONGRATS on surpassing 2K!!!
This one was easy. Cooking the shrimp with the rice adds tons of flavor.
Thank you for this video. I recently bought a Blackstone griddle. Two batches of chicken fried rice came out great. I need to rtry this shrimp fried rice.
Again, thanks!
I just found your channel a few days ago. For the past couple years I’ve been a big fan of channels like Hungry Hussey, The Griddle Guys, Waltwins etc…. Your channel has very quickly become one of my favorite flat top cooking channels. Thanks for the excellent content. Keep up the good work.
Well thats a great compliment and great company to be included in. Thanks C. Welcome to the family.
My family has used the grill for a number of years and it's been great. We've had no problems with it and we are very pleased.
Very Nice Video! Keep Up The Great Work!
Thank you! Will do!
Nice video! Looks good!
Thanks!
The best shrimp fried rice I ever ate. My wife and daughter both loved it too. You making me look like I know what I am doing behind the griddle. Thank you for the recipe, I am really enjoying your RUclips channel!
Hey thats a compliment that stands the test of time....really appreciate the feedback
tried this loved it thank you so much
Most welcome ...did you try an changes..
@@TheFlatTopKing yes i used teriyaki instead of soy and my family doesnt like shrimp so i used chicken
Awesome! I have yet to try fried rice, but this looks amazing... Have a safe and happy Independence Day!
U to brother.
I finally upgraded from my sidekick griddle to an FTG600. I do have an issue with a warped top but the great campchef customer service has already taken steps to replace that.. For my first cook I did this receipe since I had already made it once on the smaller griddle. It came out great. Looking forward to working my way through your videos. I just wish it had been delivered in warmer weather. It has turned colder here in Ohio. Thanks for the great videos. 👍 Go Navy!
Awesome to hear. GO Navy. Keep Cooking
Look good buddy
That was quick and easy. Im going to make that the next time i camp and take the Camp Chef
But ill add egg
I use jasmine rice for almost everything, not as sticky as regular white rice & love the aroma. I've cooked dozens of fried rices in work's, can't wait to buy a griddle for fried rice, steak/ shrimp fajitas etc...
Looks yummy!
My favorite
So I bought microwave rice and used that. After it was microwaved I spread on a cookie sheet and refrigerate overnight. When I was really to used it the rice was sticky and as I put it on the pit boss on low as it got cooked some of it was popping off the grill like popcorn. My dogs enjoyed the treat. So next batch of shrimp fried rice was made using white rice that was cooked by boiling water and the rice was not sticky and no issues using it.
Thanks for the video.
Everyone enjoyed the shrimp fried rice.
Sounds great!
Man that’s a lot of shrimp and love it
NO Skimping here. Next up is chicken fried rice
@@TheFlatTopKing hey buddy, fried rice is a common food on it , so can u do other Asian foods?
excellent again. EXCEPT. gotta have fresh ginger in stir fry.
Hey now....you are 100 correct...love some ginger...
Got to get myself a flat top grill asap👍👍👍😎🏴
its definitely addicting...the amount of food, less dishes, incredible flavors...
I subscribed to the channel after watching like 8 videos. Great cooking, with very simple explanations. Congratulations on a great channel with very interesting reviews. Thanks for sharing the videos with us. By the way, I can't way to get my hands on the Camp Chef Griddle.
thanks so much...happy for ya...loved mine for sure
I made this last night. It was delicious and it was just as quick and easy as your video. I used defrosted frozen raw shrimp. I think it was the most tender and moist of any way I’ve cooked it. I love making paella which I do in a paella pan on the grill. I’m going to experiment doing it on the flat top. Maybe you could do a video for paella?
We have a really good supporter from Poland...he makes it regularly and says its almost impossible to cook on the griddle...it needs the moisture to say with the rice. Now that being said be my guest....heck you could break the seal that needs to be broken...if using a paella pan on the griddle I would think the heat transfer would be difficult....give it a try and let me know
Another great cook on the flat top! Since the microwave queen hasn’t done a cook on the charcoal grill yet...and I know you have a carbon steel wok, how about a stir fry on the Weber Summit? Cheers!
Good video - I'd like to see how many burners or coils this flat top uses - certainly high temps and even distribution make magic on a flat top.
This model is a four burner. Has only vertical eyes for heat. Temps can get hot even on a low setting.
Have you ever tried brown jasmine rice, excellent for these dishes. The way I cool my rice is to line the pan with brown parchment paper; cheap buy on Amazon; spread the rice on it and it will cool in 5-8 minutes. This saves having to wash your pan as well. I use the organic veggie mix in mine. Sooo much rain here lately, I can't get to cook on my Camp Chef. I also like to scramble an egg to mix in with some brown mushrooms. Thanks for the vid.
All great ideas. I have never tried Brown Jasmine rice and honestly did not know they made it. But Jasmine rice in general is my favorite and that is actually what i used. Its always in the panty.
That looks oh so good. I've learned from Martin Yan of "Yan Can Cook" that sesame oil is not heat tolerant and should be added to dishes near the end of the cook. I'll stir it in within the last minute or less (fewer) before plating it up. It's not like I like the stuff, ya know! 😋
hey thanks Curt...
Keep up the great videos
Wondering if you might try a chicken shawarma sandwhich recipe on the flat top? Thanks
Great suggestion! I just looked it up and Man o Man it looks good. A lot of components but I might give it a try. Have you had it before or know what direction so send me in.
@@TheFlatTopKing Yes....me and the family have enjoyed them on many occasion. However I've never tried making them myself. We normally order out when we're in the mood for one. I just recent got my first flat top grill for Fathers Day and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Was hoping you might whip up an easy recipe for one of our favorite sandwiches...flat top style !!!! Keep up the great videos. Thanks
Thanks for explaining everything you do. Giving the temperature, in my opinion, is the most important. I enjoy your videos! Were you an MS in the Navy? You know a lot about cooking. I was Navy, too.
First thanks for your service. Yes I was. I was in the time of the rate brand switch. From MS to CS.
@@TheFlatTopKing thank you for your service! I was a Sonar technician. I wasn’t aware of the change from MS to CS. You’re knowledgeable of cooking is second to none. I turn to your videos just about every time I cook on my Blackstone. Even for a quick refresher. Take care shipmate!!
Great video! Have you tried Bachans Japanese BBQ Sauce yet? It’s awesome and has replaced soy sauce for me.
I have not but i will give it a shot.
Plus one on Bachans! Love that stuff, glad to see them get a mention here
Love the videos. Maybe consider putting your logo on the tv behind you in your vids!
Getting closer. I keep telling my daughter….
@@TheFlatTopKing I get it. One of these days!
Did this recently and it was terrific! Hey, just curious why you don’t include eggs? Thanks Neal!
Because traditional fried rice was all about leftover ingredients and cheap ones at that...just something to add to old rice to use leftovers or help stretch out a meal...eggs are actually not always used...till the commercial market got ahold of it...its very common there..but for different reasons..here people think it goes in everytime...thats just not true...so this was that idea..
I dnt hav smellavision, I wish I had smellaphone lol thanks for sharing looks delish💯
Absolutely.
I have nothing to say but I added a comment anyway. They say comments are good for the channel.
That's an Awesome comment.
You are the first person that I seen put pepper on fried rice.
I love it...just a little more heat
Can you use instant rice, ot does it have to be regular? (Cooked, of course.)
Thats a good question..Honestly I do not know...I have always used fresh...If you did use instant rice I would think that you would still want it to be cold before cooking...Heck like I say only one way to find out....If you do can you please let me know...
Could you tell me what thermometer you use? Thanks- you said save you 50 bucks at home - it would be a lot more for me sake and beer
Absolutely I have the links listed in the description below to all the tools i use
I have a two burner griddle is it about the same thing as same time as as your big griddle thanks
Yeah it definitely can get the job done. Just less cooking surface area.
@@TheFlatTopKing Thanks buddy.
My husband found your video and really would like to try the shrimp fried rice. We have the 36 x 16 3-burner purchased at Costco. It came with a reversible 1-burner cast iron grill/griddle plate. Can you point us to the correct griddle and cover with handles to fit our size camp chef please? My husband found a Blackstone griddle but it was 36 x 21 or 22 inches instead of 16 inches. Thank you for the great videos.
I bought the blackstone griddle cover for my 36in camp chef. The link should be listed in the description below. It does not fit 100 like a glove. It is actually a hair big but it fits 360 degrees around it with no problems.
Sorry it took so long to comment, somehow 4/5 month comments are popping up everyday now.
That's quite alright. I appreciate the feedback. Actually, one of the ignitor on our Camp Chef went out almost immediately and we decided to return it and get a 4-burner Blackstone and have been really pleased with it. We have made your recipe on it and it was really good!
@Nigelng get ungel roger to review this
That looks good my grandson and I are going to make this very soon . Question he was born in MONTANA and doesn't like seafood so can we do the same dish with chicken ?? In place of the shrimp.. Thank you Frank from montana...
Yes great substitute. Just make sure you cook your chicken longer before combining the rest of the ingredients.
I’m new to the griddle but tried this recipe. My rice kept popping everywhere. Why was that?
Thats kinda normal....rice crackle pop hahahaha. no really the rice hits the oil and its hard to stop...I would quickly add your soy sauce and other ingredients to help lower the rice temp
are you telling me a shrimp fried this rice?!
hey thats what its all about...just getting the info at there....I love mine as well
That looks very good, but should have added eggs.
I agree...sometimes we do and sometimes....
Only a 1/4 top of seasme oil, because it's soo bad for a body.
Have you used your F T G to its full potential? You know the grill under the flat top? It is a camp chef isn’t it?
Tony I just posted a video last week titled grilled steak on the flat top grill grates. Yep its a Camp Chef. I Love it.
Isn’t your F T Grill reversible?
Hey flat top king great video. Question what are the three bars to the left of your knobs and do you use them?
@@tonybean5162 no. You have to remove it to use the grill underneath
Okay Neal, if you're going tapanaki on us you need the "official" hat so you can flip the shrimp up on the flat top man!
Next time you do something like this try to add some fish sauce (Red Boat or Three Crabs) at least a couple tablespoons, regardless of the protein of choice. It won't make it taste fishy, just that touch of umami. You can thank me later...........
Laughing while reading this thinking of myself in the hat. Off camera I did the egg roll joke. But I decided not to do the egg.
Not the peas ,carrots, onions, salt n pepper smelling 😌
Spoil them kids to much 😂 we ate what momma cooked or we didn’t eat
I did as well..and my waste line shows it....ahhahaha
Bro - 2 tbsp? That was half a tsp of sesame oil. And you want to add that towards the end.
Let us help each other!
