Just got our yesterday after a very long wait… lovely drive unreal space and surprisingly light and manoeuvreable… do have concerns about making long journeys with the limited miles on full charge but happy to make the change
Well with grid serve taking over from electric highway. You should find rapid charging easier. They will take a 100kw of power and plugged into morissons supermarket this evening and got enough charge for rest of week in 20mins.
I picked up the kombi a week ago. It's a great van. If you are not doing high mileage on a daily basis It's a fab van and very efficient compared to fuel. On the motorway you can see the remaining miles eating away quickly that is a worry if you was going on holiday or on a long trip. You just have to plan ahead more. There are plenty of apps to find an e charger nearby. There is no way this would be a taxi having been an operator myself it's a non starter. You can't plan customers around charging if they was going to Heathrow Airport. Equally for big families fully laden this won't do much miles. It only suits me as I'm taking the rear seats out for giant breed dogs and trips under 100 miles return. Incidentally the rear seats don't move on a track. Nor to they recline. Apart from that great handling and visibility.
i have tried since may this year to place an order for a vivaro e life .been told there is no demonstators available. i have tried every dealership in scotland and contacted vauxhall direct to no avail ..very sad to be ignored ...
I’ve just placed an order for one and the wait is 7-9 months, there was no demo vehicle but luckily there was one waiting to be picked up by another customer which I was able to look at, it is truly a fab vehicle
I ordered my Vauxhall Vivaro e life elite in May 2021 and received it in October 2021. I live in London and it’s quite good around the central zones. A lot of space.
A fair summary of this very spacious, utilitarian, yet limited people Luger. With the self stated 2.3 miles per KWh, the 45 Kw usable capacity of the battery would just about cover 100 miles between charges, without considering vehicle passenger and luggage load, hills, headwinds and rain. Very very careful planning would be required for motorway trips. Placing the fate of a family summer holiday upon the reliability the public charging network in the U.K. could be described at best as courageous and at worst at complete and utter lunacy. This vehicle would be very useful for any use case that involves short urban journeys.
Absolutely no were near enough mileage range for me as a taxi, I cover 125 miles everyday just covering a school run (mainly motorway) I will say I know nothing on how to charge publicly and it wouldn't be available at home with recent costs especially and no driveway
I agree the spec on my kombi is not as described. They changed the name of the model mid order to legally get around this. My main frustration was the rear seats not being on a track that now means I'm removing an entire bench seat so it suits my needs. It's not just this group vehicles everywhere have had the same done to get them off the production line quicker.
Really easy to drive better for disabled and chargers installed for wheel chair use. Less problems as you don't have to get a petrol attendant. Home charger can be installed to suit disabled drivers condition.
I’m on the Motability scheme with a Shuran which needs to go back next March as I’ll have had it 5 years. The only vehicle on the scheme large enough for my Mobility scooter and hoist is the Vivaro Elite. I’m going tomorrow to place the order; won’t be able to test drive as there are none available in any dealerships. Once another customer’s car arrives I can look at it and sit in it, but I’m stuck otherwise. I’m dreading the switch to electric because my health is so unpredictable I don’t want to be stuck looking for a charging port when I’m unwell and need to get home. Also, my blue badge is effectively useless as no disabled parking bays have charging ports.
@katpinksherry5151 7u......ford have a vehicle big enough for my scooter and manual wheelchair, ford transit tourneo custom.... If you've had a vehicle for 5 years then it must be a WAV...?!...
We just got are 9 seater yesterday it seems like a nice drive plenty of space but there was a plastic panel in the back seat and the boy in vauxhall didn't know what it was for any idea lol
Was it the grille blanking panel for the front? There is a panel which clips over the radiator grille to give slightly improved aero - particularly if you do more motorway driving.
@@ChorleyGroup thank you that's were it goes it could also be for winter driving to keep the temperatures up for the heating I think as I had an old jeep that would not heat in the winter so I covered part of the radiator vent and that sorted the problem thanks again even the car dealer didn't know lol
Will they bring in the 75kwh battery pack to the UK like they do under the Opel brand in Europe? Would love one to replace our 7 seater family car, but already have a short range EV & need something that does more than 110-120 miles at motorway speeds.
@@MoretonHD not yet, they have given me a reference number though so will chase it up with them. Also contacted Vauxhall directly & they confirmed they have no current plans to bring the bigger battery varient to the UK, which is a massive shame as I feel it would do well, they tried to sell me the diesel version though.
@kendo youloveit yes fully packed car however not full adults, as 4 children were onboard. The boot was full. I must say tho using the heater will kill the range. So does the AC but not as much as the heater.
nice looking van but horibble on range for this sort or van even for commercial use 140 miles per charge should of thought puting a bigger battery for this sort of van at least 300 miles per charge
We consistently got over 100 miles in our testing, and up to 150 miles was acheived in one drive. Range will be affected by weather, load, and road speed (over 65mph on motorways will take 20%+ off the range for example).
It's a 50kWh total battery size with 45kWh usable. At the 34p/kWh capped tariff for the next 2 years, that would be a maximum of 45x0.34= £15.30. But you can still get off-peak EV tariffs from companies like Octopus Energy, which will charge overnight for 7.5p/kWh = £3.38 for a complete charge.
@@ChorleyGroup Electric vehicles are an awesome idea what you’ve got to bear in mind Electric prices will only rise and that’s without the government having a cut out of electric car market because they will have to get fuel duty back some how what they will lose on petrol and diesel we may end up paying more electric car then we will be for petrol or diesel in the future what a disgrace that will be,and on top of that loss of earnings they’re gonna get from road tax it won’t be Bear thinking about how much electric car will cost us

@@rizwanlatif4836 same here if someone had to go to the nearest bigger hospital in Swansea we wouldn't get there and back without charging.
It’s a work-in-progress with that range. I couldn’t live with it myself, but I’m sure a few will!

Just about to order an e-life but I believe I'll have to wait until March 2023 to pick it up . Is what it is at the moment I suppose.
Once these get a real world range of 300-400 miles, ill be very much buying the van version of this.
The 75kwh van isn't far off in fairness.
I ordered the elite version last August, been told it might be here by July!
I will die of range anxiety in the motorway with this van.

How long does it take to charge ?!
Good first attempt but needs a ground up design like the electric London bus.

I’ve been looking to get one on Motability as my current lease runs out in April, but no dealers in the East Midlands seem to have them to look at :(
