OK I am doing it. I have assembled a Dremel Drill Press converted to a 3 axis Mini Mill. All the 3D Printed parts are done and tonight I received the extra Motors, Power Supply, Arduino CNC Shield, Motor Drivers, but I forgot to order the Motor Couplers so Minor Delay. Cutters are due this week, If this works I will be able to machine Model Train Chassis for special trains that were not offered in S Scale the scale i work in. Thank for a great tutorial . D

Very informative narration. I have designed and fabricated my CNC Plotter. My project can be accessed on my channel danjunk-DIY on You tube. I am using CNC Shield board. But I forgot to enable the CNC shield by putting a jumper at " Enable header pins" as you explained. Even then, my machine is working fine. I don't understand this "Enable" aspect of the CNC Shield. Please clarify. I am controlling my plotting using Universal Gcode Sender platform.
I thought about doing this, but ended up not doing so as I haven't built something specific yet. You can buy a low cost SD card reader that connects to an Arduino and have the Arduino send the g-code commands to the Arduino running GRBL.
Where do you buy a TRUSTWORTHY shield. I've read that some are FAKE and will DESTROY your Arduino! Their pins are soldered incorrectly and seem to be a Chinese fake.

Maybe I2C connect to a separate 382p that reads SD cards and communicates via a small LCD and have some manual jogging buttons?
