Basically yeah, that square shape gives it roughly 20% more cone area, essentially making the 12” a 14.4 and the 15” a 18 🤷♂️ Edit: actually I did my math wrong, its closer to a 13" and a 16.5", but still it's a WIN more cone for same diameter

Beautiful I have x2 L7 S15 solobarics driven by x2 2000W Class D Amps both subs wired to 2ohm each so amps are both running 1500w x2 @ 3000w i dont like running anything like 1 ohm or .5 as it's hard on the electrical and gear so I like the headroom for low pass I'm chasing 150db my mids are run by x2 pairs of 6x9's 1100w JBL Crown x3 AGM Batteries
you need a better enclosure. theres not enough airspace for 2 15 inch subs in that small ported box. one 15 in a big port tuned box will yield more low bass. or seal up the box you have now if it meets the specs for sealed enclosure.
That's the BD-2500.1. Way more than needed to push those Kickers. The box is the problem here. Its too big and the vents are too small. You would've been better off with two preloaded Kicker sub's. Don't really matter if the deck is 2 or 4 volt preouts if he tuned the amp correctly to match the source unit.
Just to let you know . these things can take alot more. Run it at one ohm. Bc im only throwing 1300 to one sub on a kicker kxa 1200.1 and the escursion is doubled what you got here. Or turn down your lpf to 28 and your bass boost up a few clicks. Theyll take it with ease
why bass boost:/ that jus introduces clipping. just wire the subs down to 1ohm or sum but i mean jus get a bigger amp. clipping will just ruin them and sound terrible.
When bassheads watch videos like this, we're really expecting the speakers to be moving! These are barely moving! I've seen videos, with these speakers jumping out of the box!
That could be because most so-called bassheads are actually uneducated in their hobby. The less the sub is moving is actually better for the sub. Meaning the sub is more in tune with the port

Hence the more xmas dosen't equal more output. The output is in the design. Afterall it's not like you seen what this vehicle meters, or if it's built the way this guy wanted with what he had. Lol you can only believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear. Just saying maybe your eyes and ears are deceiving you due to what you're experiencing is satisfying your eyes and ears. A lot of these companies now thrive on this. Big subs that handle massive amounts of power with very low sensitivity and high xmas. May seem impressive, but innovation wins hands down. More sensitivity and less xmas equals more output with less power without jeopardizing the sub. Kicker understands this the best without diminishing their cost.
