I can’t believe you stuck with the game for all 100 days, but I’m also glad you did. This video was so hilarious and yet so helpful for its honesty. I only wish I’d seen this before I bought the game, which I regret purchasing. I can’t believe it’s only a little less expensive than, say, Baldur’s Gate 3, where a random squirrel has more personality when you cast Speak with Animals on it than the romance candidates in Fae Farm…
This video would not have changed a thing for me. I love that it's more realistic than Stardew. You have to be more careful with what you sell, as there's only a certain amount of space to use, and the fishing I prefer so much.

Watching this was a treat. Haha. I just finished the main story line and I’m in year 4. Mostly because it took almost 2 years of focus to breed all the flowers so I could get the wings and palettes. Honestly I never bothered selling much of anything but gems and gold from the mines. And I def don’t fight much anymore in there. Me and the Gone potion are BFFs. Also discovered sneaking up on critters just makes it easier for them to out maneuver you. The blobbins and a couple others are exceptions but I just chase stuff down now. Honestly, by the time I got to the fire dungeon I noticed that whatever floor you're on will typically have some of what you need to make a seal to unlock the next floor, so I didn't even bother with the magma cores and just made seals the whole way down. 🤣 It took me longer, but I was just not down for the whole having to re-light thing.

Just that there's also Pyria (Sun Goddess, Amaterasu, Character), Galan, and Pepper (Moon Goddess, Selene, Character) the only ones left basically. Only with Pyria and Pepper am I basing my character off something, I don't think it's considered roleplay, but I don't want to assume and it isn't. I wish the scientist was romanceable. Ugh! I felt sympathy for you with this gameplay. I wouldnt have made 100 days most likely. Glad you take time to sit on stuff a while before giving a finished opinion. Loved the fairy wings you wore and loved your threat at the end 🤣 9/10
OMG I love you. lol You are so much fun to watch. I just bought the game, so this was so helpful, and I was laughing all the way through the video. You are so right about the silent part, I wish I did that when I first joined. I definitely subscribed I can't wait to see what other games you played. =)
I had to stop at the 20min mark so as not to spoil it for myself Lol I just started playing after getting my Steam Deck for the holiday. I originally had it on Switch, but didn't get too far before the new game system arrived. I'm loving it so far, but this review and run down is HILARIOUS (and accurate). I'll have to come back after a few more chapters in.
Thank you for feeding us, EJ. Hehehe. I agree with all of your criticisms. I got super into Fae Farm until I finished the entire storyline, and then immediately regretted the price. $60 is really crazy for this one. Though it does come with some DLC packs. But, we'll see how much those add to the game. It'd better not be just some new clothes or skins.
i feel like this game should have been called fae mines, you don't actually get much from farming in this game so you mostly just spend your time in the mines.
I loved your video so much. I got into the free game trial of this game 5 hours before it ended on the Switch last night, so your video really helped me decide if I want to shell out for this game. This review was so well done and really gave me the business that I really wanted to know about Fae Farm. We are similar gamers, so that was convenient for me. And you are wildly entertaining, so, thank you profusely! Btw, I am an old school Animal Crosser (been playing since 2001) and I need you to tell me about your Tangy doll! Ohmygawd, she is so cute! Looks hand felted, and I'm also a crafty person so I am beyond curious about her. Also, your Bulbasaur is adorable, one of the cutest I've seen, and Bulby is my absolute favorite Pokemon. Anyway, thank you again, so very much, I am done fanpersoning you for now. Love!
Such a great video, I watched every second without skipping!!! There are so many farming out there currently, and I loved playing the og harvest moon games, but since then it's quite hard to find something good... like there is a kind of void that hasn't been filled yet... so I'm ok with spoilers, and I really can't decide with game to buy because all of them seem to be quite expensive lately... I think I will buy fae farm but not right now, because the mine stuff looked fun & challenging and it has quite a bit of game play (how many hours did you play in total?) maybe when there is some interesting sale or so, to save some money. One more question tho, do the fairy wings have any purpose/use?
The wings allow you to double jump, so you jump higher. I hope they have a very impressive sale for this game, because I play on Switch and I'm not coughing up $60 for it.
I would go Coral Island over Fae Farm if there can only be one. Coral Island, even though it's not officially 1.0, just feels like it already has so much more to it.
I'm so glad that you went with Jack. My first day meeting him I was scurrying around at 9pm looking for a snail he wanted. The price point is a shame, they had a free trial on Switch and now I want to buy it. Also, first time viewer! Liked and subscribed. 😁
I just discovered your channel from this video :) I'm 30 minutes in and thoroughly entertained lol In the game, I'm on year 3 and you're not wrong about the hits and misses. I look forward to the DLCs and more updates...I'm playing on the switch. I have a MacBook so no $40 option lol But I love the game
I do agree with a lot of people that the price is a bit steep. But, I enjoy the game and the DLC content. I also got upset about the steam name being your name (but I think it is because you can do online play with others so it helps with repetitive names). I also was annoyed that not everyone was able to be your friend and that their dialogue is repetitive and limited (but so is animal crossing and Stardew valley). Despite these hiccups I do enjoy the game and while the price is steep for the base game and the DLCs I do recommend it as it's cute, fun, and has different mechanics and different storyline that I haven't seen in other farming sims. Also, I was in the same boat EJ. I neglected to read Cleo's dialogue in which she tells us that the seals in the mines also allow you to teleport so for a hot min I was walking through them all to get to Neppy! Also, I totally must have ignored the wisp mother because I did not know the other spirits/sprites were her children! lmao. It took me so long to realize which drinks were appropriate for the rainy and hot days. I thought the rain drops on the drink meant it had a cooling affect. That is what I would have done and so it made me confused for a bit.
I agree mostly. It’s not worth $60. There’s “supposedly” 2 free DLCs coming, so hopefully that expands stuff. You didn’t get a chance to get into any of the breeding stuff (flowers, trees, animals) and those are cool. Cute little blue cows! All in all I liked it. Liked the look of it for sure. But just wish they had done MORE for literally every aspect of the game.
Yeah I did see that everyone got into flower breeding and stuff but honestly... that was never really something that interested me in like ACNH or anything??
I preordered this and was SO excited for it, got it on the day of release and didn’t touch it for a month. Played 2 days, liked it way more than I thought, but decided I’d go back once I have the time to dedicate because I just started Disney Dreamlight valley which I thought I’d hate but I friggin LOVE. The price… yea it definitely isn’t a $60 game but it is a good game… a great game. There’s tons of content, there’s more than enough to do to keep busy. I’m hoping for DLC or if it becomes a series of game I’m sure it’ll get much better with each iteration. I try to always keep in mind that most of these games release on PC and Switch among other platforms, and to release anything on Switch REALLY kills the performance. They have to work within soooo many parameters to make a game work and work well on Switch. It’s already almost 7 years old and Fae Farm just released now. I hope that whatever console they have coming next comes quick because they’re just going to start releasing all the new good games on every platform except Nintendo.
notorious late adopter. Looking for a game with low stress and this may be it...but all those tasks, make me a little crazy. Anyway, love your video! You're a riot.
i think the $40 sale is def worth it. since buying i haven’t been able to stop playing. i do agree with most of your criticisms- some of them however i personally think is what makes the game charming in its own way! it’s still new so hopefully we get more!
Yeah I’m in the floating ruins rn, I am not messing with the floating lights of doom that activate the angels of death. I’m making the seals and using to invisibility potion to avoid fighting all together
I'm really enjoying Faefarm rn! Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon games also cost that much so I'd say it's just as worth it as any of them (I got it on sale tho so I'd say def worth the sale price). The movement feels just so nice and fun and polished (probably the most polished part of the game, which is good but also a little bad lol). Honestly I love just running around and jumping in this game which is great! I do wish the dialogue was handled better bc what is there is fun and cute when they aren't just regurgitating the same canned lines :/ I like the storybook style cutscenes, but I do feel like the story feels very detached from the gameplay so it would have been nice if there were some active events that could make you feel like you're really doing something (other than when you clear the obstacles). I think I maybe don't mind fetch quests as much as most people, but if ALL the quests are fetch quests then yeah it feels pretty egregious. But I love the concept and feel, but some things could still use improvement. I honestly really hope they make a sequel in the future with the same great movement and magic+farming concept, but with better characters and story (and maybe better graphics for the characters lol like the animals and scenery and everything else looks fine I like the style there, but the people just need a little more something) The core gameplay is pretty great though like there aren't a lot of quality of life improvements that could be made. This game feels like it wasn't made under crunch and was actually properly play tested (at least the Switch version I've been playing), which is unfortunately becoming a rarity these days. Consideration seems to have been taken for inclusivity as well, which is nice. This is one of the only games I've played that let's you pick your pronouns, although I'm not sure when/if they ever really come up in the dialogue? Anyways i think this is a pretty good farm sim and I hope it does well.
I'm on year 3 and honestly love this game mining gems makes the most profit animal products mainly for cooking you won't get much for selling the artwork is very cute there are so many makers to build you can decorate the inside of your house but it's nothing to special combat isn't to challenging lots of cute wings and outfits to buy villagers are vanilla with dialog romance options are limited cross breeding flowers is fun and growing the different crops is nice fishing can be a bit challenging for new players but once you get the hang of it it's alright you level up your fishing rod axe pickaxe wand watering can by using gems and ore for upgrades the artwork and music is pretty I haven't really played multi-player to explain how that works over all its a great cozy farm game they are announced 2 dlcs free for nintendo switch in 2024 hopefully will add more content clothes and furniture
I had a few issues with the game. One of them was the length of the day....which they just changed in the update. You have an option. An 18 minute day or a 36 minute day.
For $60 this game needs voice acting and it would be interesting if the miasma guy said no and you had to fight him for the miasma to go away. And it would be better if npcs didn’t send you to other npcs if that’s the case the npc that you need to go to should just send a letter. Romancing should be more about giving gifts rather than quest kinda like Stardew
I believe they actually reduced the regular price down to $30 for PC, but also removes the Expansions, so you’d have to buy them separately if you wanted to. Switch users are stuck with the $60 price tag though, the expansion is free for switch users. Wish they did more with the relationships aspect of the game 😢 and I would have liked them to have voice acted the chapters. The VA for the trailers did a great job.
wait wait, the reason you cant have relationships with the shopkeepers is, according to the lore, because theyre always so busy that they dont have time to have a life, or sumthin... i mean honestly not a great excuse, but i assume that being in a relationship with any of the shopkeepers wouldve opened up way too many other mechanics that I suppose the devs did not want to encumber themselves with, and honestly thats also fair.
Of all the things I didn't like about this game, the seasonal and fae crops were not an issue. Maybe because I understood how to use them pretty quickly so managed to get a start on them pretty early? The biggest issue i have with the game is the characterisation of the NPCs. They're just boring. bland and behind the times. They don't have a lot of charm when compared to other Farming Sims. That aside, how do you feel about checking out Roots of Pacha? It's a very fun sim with a twist, and yes, it has mines. XD
This game is so glitchy! I'm on year 4 and I've most of the quests done as well as the main story line. As much as I enjoy it these are my main issues. The charms for breeding frequently fail, the almanac is incredibly basic doesn't even show what materials you need to for clothes etc. Building fences is pointless as the animals walk through them, the animals also frequently get in the way and you can't move them like you can in other games. No aiming for foraging and mining you best just hope the little glowing square lands on what you want to pick/mine. The trinkets that you can get from Lem, don't even think of unequipping them from your buddy as they disappear so if you've equipped a citrine trinket to a frog.. there it will stay. I have lost so many trinkets trying to unequip them to swap out my buddy. Romancing and getting married is pointless unless you want to fill the fashion almanac as they just roam around the farm and do not help with anything on the farm
I believe today is the last day fae farm is on sale on the switch. 44 bucks is better than 60 and I finally bought it 😊 very happy I did cause it’s such cozy vibes
What a funny 100 days video. Lol. And i was for a few days watching here and there trying to figure if i buy this game or not. And 56:08 Definetly not !!
When i first got this game and they told me to craft for the first time their was no indicator on how i was so confused that i looked it up and after i learned how they highlighted the build function for the first cooking quest I was so annoyed. This game doesn’t do very well at. Telling information.
I think the game is cute but I have my issues with it. I really don't like how the people don't have much to say and the say the same things. Argyle is the one I noticed the most (I married him and Pyria) you also can't do much with them. Another issue is the vendors aren't friendable. I don't think it's worth 60$ not even 40 I think it would've been better off being 10-20 dollars max. Stardew Valley: is so much better with a lot of aspects but it does have it's flaws. My time in Portia: I had a hard time liking but I like the dude with a bear dad Elnea kingdom: I like it quite a bit but I don't like how the characters annoy the hell out of you. I couldn't milk the Rudder (cow variation) without it making me talk to people (not required just having the buttons be the same) That's pretty much my experience with more chill farming games. Graveyard keeper I like it but it can get confusing af
This was such a funny and also good video, thank you for making it. I played a little bit of this game through the game trials thing and wasn't convinced, and now I'm sure I don't want to get it
I am new to FaeFarm. I am stuck I have started over three time. When I complete the 25 mine levels of the mine Nessa is asleep and will not respond. Can you help? 2:38

I agree with fuzzy pumpkin above and would say go for Coral Island IMO, and the 1.0 is coming out next month!
I'm so glad that you went with Jack. My first day meeting him I was scurrying around at 9pm looking for a snail he wanted. The price point is a shame, they had a free trial on Switch and now I want to buy it.
Also, first time viewer! Liked and subscribed. 😁
I played the free trial for like an hour but mostly couldn’t get past the art style. Definitely not for me, but I like watching videos about it lol
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE EFFORT THIS VIDEO TOOK TO MAKE. 🎉
lmaooo you are funny and I'm glad I found your video before getting the game.
Thank you for the review!
A 1hour 37 minute EJ Plays feature film was not on my bingo card, we luv to see it ☺️!
Screaming at the bomb going off 😂😂😂😂😂
40:48 watching this hurt bc he didn’t know about the invisibility potions😂
So many fetch quests, but if that's your move go for it! I also have heard that they improved the dialogue, which was one of my main gripes!
i think the $40 sale is def worth it. since buying i haven’t been able to stop playing. i do agree with most of your criticisms- some of them however i personally think is what makes the game charming in its own way! it’s still new so hopefully we get more!
I would love to see one of these videos from you talking about roots of pacha. Its my fav sim game at the moment
you did it! i loved this
Thanks for providing a good laugh with actual information and game play! great video
Love your story telling
Oh my gosh just started playing this game and found you by happy accident and I was dying laughing at your wedding… off to watch other videos..
I got this game when it was on sale on the switch and been enjoying it.
yayyyy baby long form yayyyyyyyyyy more ej
If I learned anything from this video, it’s that this man yearns for the mines.
I actually love this game
I appreciate the dedication and hard work that went into this video!! Thank you!
I'd play this game if it was like ... a third of the price. BUT this video was really fun, so I'm not complaining that it exists.
Very much how I feel about it!
This video was very helpful 😊
This was so entertaining!
positively begging you to play sun haven after watching you play this
i cant wait to play this game, great video :)
Have you played or made any vids with the free dlc???
wait wait, the reason you cant have relationships with the shopkeepers is, according to the lore, because theyre always so busy that they dont have time to have a life, or sumthin... i mean honestly not a great excuse, but i assume that being in a relationship with any of the shopkeepers wouldve opened up way too many other mechanics that I suppose the devs did not want to encumber themselves with, and honestly thats also fair.
You had me at lesbian 23:56! Now I gotta throw $26.79 at them, because it's on sale (on Steam) lol.
What is the lowest price discount you have seen at nintendo shop?
Can you play through the new updates if you don’t mind see if the game has gotten better and more worth the price ?
Oo that's a fun idea!
What a funny 100 days video. Lol. And i was for a few days watching here and there trying to figure if i buy this game or not. And 56:08 Definetly not !!
You can fully upgrade all 4 houses. ❤
I loved your video. I’m loving FaeFarm, but I don’t play other farm sims.
I really enjoy it! I only payed the 40. Maybe I would be more a little disappointed If I spent 60. But I'm enjoying it.
Yay! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
@@EJPlays Btw I enjoyed the video! will subscribe! ❤️😊✨
When i first got this game and they told me to craft for the first time their was no indicator on how i was so confused that i looked it up and after i learned how they highlighted the build function for the first cooking quest I was so annoyed. This game doesn’t do very well at. Telling information.
ive been seeing this game here n there but i havent actually watched any vids about it!
My time in Portia: I had a hard time liking but I like the dude with a bear dad
Elnea kingdom: I like it quite a bit but I don't like how the characters annoy the hell out of you. I couldn't milk the Rudder (cow variation) without it making me talk to people (not required just having the buttons be the same)
That's pretty much my experience with more chill farming games.
Graveyard keeper I like it but it can get confusing af
yes mama slay work fae queen
This was such a funny and also good video, thank you for making it. I played a little bit of this game through the game trials thing and wasn't convinced, and now I'm sure I don't want to get it
I am new to FaeFarm. I am stuck I have started over three time. When I complete the 25 mine levels of the mine Nessa is asleep and will not respond. Can you help? 2:38
Picked it up for 33 pounds on ebay ... so excited to play it :D
I personally love Fea Farm. I will not stand for the Fea Farm slander 💀
