I had the wastegate rattle sound and occasionally drivetrain malfunction message followed by weak power. I replaced the wastegate actuator and the rattle is less, but still getting drivetrain malfunction followed by low power. An expert said replace the vacuum pump and boost solenoid, but my 2014 328i is electric solenoid version, with no boost solenoid. Any ideas?
All of the real questions people ask on these videos are never answered 😔..... it's hard enough trying to understand what this guy is saying but no one ever answers that question you're asking
If you come across any of these N20s. Just do your selfs a favor a RUNNnnnn 🏃♂️ no matter what type of “good price you think your getting “ I see them all day for 3500-5000. But these N20s are ticking time 💰 bombs 💣 💴 💴 💴

It is electronic and self calibrates everytime you turn the car on, the only thing you have to make sure is to adjust it's size to the size of the previous one
Quick question - when the wastegate is replaced, do you have to calibrate it with the special software? I am asking because I know that sometimes it could need just calibration, so wonder if new parts also need that. If so, what is the most affordable software that have the functionality to help calibrate it?
autorepairguys - I need your help, am having an error which says intake pipe pressure sensor, electrical: short circuit to B+(104701- error code). I have no symptoms of bad MAP sensor, I have checked it with multimeter as well, it is fine no issue. data stream is 884.98 hPA (intake manifold after throttle) and air mass = 17.56kg/h
Dear auto repair I would like your help. I have a 328i 2013. And some times send the message of propulsión when the dealer scan results the wastegate. But my question is that some times appear the message and the car is slow then I turn the car off and after a couple of minutes I on the car and the message don’t appears and the car works perfectly. Then a few days send again the message and the story repeats again. Do you think I have to replace the wastegate or it could be another think Thanks
@@mateos6450 Dear Mateo I only replace the waste gate and the problem don't appears again. just check that your mechanic adjust very good the valve of the waste gate.
Thanks for this comment I’m facing the same exact problem and was thinking if I should get the part and see if it works or just sell the car but after what you said I think I’m going to buy the part
After watching this video, I think automobile engineers are sociopaths. Why in the world would they design a car/engine and engine bay so small and complex that it's so hard to work on and repair. A certified sociopath.
I hate how many times you say “guys” it literally makes me stop watching all your videos and I only accidentally click them after I finally get that damn guys out of my head
That is a COMPLETE RIP-OFF. It will take them LESS than 5 minutes to fix that, trust me!!! I had a similar issue & all they needed to do was turn it/tighten it 3 revolutions!!

Huge thank you from america. Appreciate the videos. 🙏 Hope all is well.
Thanks for the help.
Starting my diag for this now.
Also, go OKC Thunder lol
That looks like it was a difficult video to make. Thanks!
Hi there, Great videos guys! could u tell me if there is a fuse or relay that powers up the turbo actuator. I'm getting no power from the Ecu.

After watching this video I’m thinking on saving some money and replacing the waste gate actuator myself
Do we need to program it if we change it ???
@@nobodysafe5212that’s was I’m wondering
Any updates? Did you buy the Mitsubishi one? Did you need ISTA software? Going to attempt this week, although im not sure i dont just need a new clip.
@@LightSpinAnglerdid you replace the wastegate...?
@@MrUser999999 yeah 👍
hey guys, great video. Do you have a link for this component wastegate actuator? thanks
How do you do adaptation after replacement???? Or you just do half job???
Does this needs special programming or scanner?

If you buy the Mitsubishi one, it’s ready to go! No tuning
I’m having the same issue and mine is Mitsubishi also
Yes you have to calibrate
@@khalidmusa8760 did you figure out how to relearn?
I got a diagnostic and they said the waste gate linkage screw is loose and it would be +$400
How hard would it be to DIY
Got it done

Thank you for the info
Great video
How can I get to buy one for my car
How do I mechanically get the other piece out of the turbo
Does anybody know if we have to re program the watergate actuator?????
Ensiende las belosidades en el tablero si aprieto el botón para subir las bentaniyas pero que pasa eso
Ive have the same engine but why is my waste gate circle
Probably an aftermarket wastegate
Does it have a vacuum tube going to it? Your engine may use a vacuum-driven wastegate actuator and not the electronic one.
Any of you guys figure out the relearn?

There is a lot of room here! It's the small 4 cylinder. Working on the big V8s that leave zero room is where the challenge is
Timing chain failures at 80k miles. This is supposedly the german engineering prowess? Pretty much bmws are lease throw aways.
