With Soma Saito's 3rd album "Fictions" just around the corner, I finally created the deep dive video I was saying for years that I would create! 😁 I hope you enjoy it and are looking forward to his new CD!

I wish there was a way to put a video on my wall. This is such an excellent video and I cannot believe it took me so long to watch it and all your other videos about Soma. I've reading your essays about his music for a long time and, since I'm not so good with expressing myself, you help me to understand and put into words what does his music makes me feel. I promise I will leave a comment in those too.
Fictions has already been around for some time now, and I still feel like I'm listening for the first time every day. The longing Ventura makes me feel is too intense haha
Thank you for your amazing work and support to our fantastic artist Soma Saito 💚

Every song is a journey, this is something so incredibly unique about him that instantly made me anticipate his music and pre-order it without any questions. I know it'll be unique and it'll be deep and full of nuance 😁

Soma was the one that got me into seiyuu music (or realized some seiyuus were singers too) and he set the bar so high plus as a main rock listener he has being a treat as well
And his and Yuuma Uchida's songs are the ones I connect emotionally the most

Soma as your entry point into seiyuu music is amazing! (but you really spoiled yourself by going to Soma's music first 😂 This is good though!).
I feel you, a rock music fan, he really scratches that itch for me, better yet, bringing sub-genres in rock that aren't as common in seiyuu music (or even 2D music) such as shoegaze rock and post-rock is a treat.
Thanks for the comment and I hope you enjoy "Fictions"! 😁

I love his song and storytelling sm .His music for me is full of memories for me especially in Bloom! album. I used to listen his music on the bus when I go to camp. Now I can feel my camp memories every time , and I can't complete if I didn't listen his.
And I really love your blog about his music but nowaday I don't enter to your blog. but lucky I found solution I just have to change my vpn. I hope to read , waiting for Fictions review!
English isn't my mother language so it maybe hand to read.
    love u

His storytelling is what really makes me the most excited about his music - although I love and appreciate every single detail - and that's because, during 40 minutes, I get an opportunity to dive (and even participate) in a story with a rich world, relatable stories, crafty, ingenious twists that have me guessing about the concept/story.
The care he has crafting a story that will catch us all off guard is something I continue to praise and admire a lot about him.
I know I sound like a broken record by now 😅 but really, his music makes me stop to think, theorize, reflect. And I love that.
Oh!! "in bloom" has that "going on a journey" feeling that is perfect for that! I can understand why you listen to it when you went to camp! 😁That's a lovely memory!
      Thanks! 🙏
I don't know what is causing that problem but glad you found a way to access it. I haven't been too active there - as I've been without any free time to dedicate to it - but there's still a lot of interesting reviews coming, "Fictions" included!
I hope you enjoy the album and the new story Saito has ready for us!

Great job with the video! Very interesting and well structured! Also, I like a lot the edition! 😊
It's kinda nerdy, but I always look forward to your music reviews because I can notice there's a uniqueness in Soma's music but since I do not have much musical knowledge I can't identify clearly what it is, your analysis makes much easier to understand that part and makes me find his music even more fascinating!
And I'm glad you pointed out the theme of nature and flowers in his releases! Aesthetically and liricly it's a thing that I feel very drawn to, and that is constantly present in his music (also, the sea/sea creatures is other of his constant themes! Very fascinating too!)
I became a fan of Soma since 2015 and I was happy when he announced his artist's debut because I liked his singing but I had NO IDEA how talented as a singer-songwritter he would become, I'm so happy I could witnesses such growth and blooming from an artist as interesting as him 🥺
I'm so looking forward to Fictions! 🤧💖

Thanks!! I had a blast creating this video! It was a long time coming but it turned out pretty snappy and interesting 😁
Believe me, Soma Saito's music makes me super nerdy so it's really awesome to know that others enjoy it in the form of my reviews! There's something about the way he crafts his music and weaves his narratives into small details that make me write thesis-style reviews 😂 He's that awesome and fascinating. I'm anticipating an awesome album with "Fictions" although I'll only be diving into it this weekend.
Flowers and yes, the sea - which I forgot to mention - are big in his music. Both are extremely poetic and help create that dreamy, sometimes unreal tone that his songs have. Thanks for pointing that out!
You've been a fan for almost 10 years (time flies by!), I can only think you're really proud of his journey so far! (I know I am, having been following him since 2012 when he was chaotic asf during 81pro's radio show and seeing him now as a full-fledged artist - and one of the best seiyuu out there).
If you've already checked "Fictions", I hope you enjoyed it! If you've yet to check it, here's me wishing you enjoy it a whole lot! 😁

I became a fan of Soma Saito because of his music, although I already knew some of his work as a seiyuu. I started listening to Soma's music a little before he released the "Yin/Yang" EP, so I always say that "mirrors" somehow saved me. But before that, I connected very easily with some songs from the album "in bloom", Palette and Isana being some of my favorites (usually listen to rock/alternative music, but I started listening to shoegaze because of Soma and I love it).
Also, I like to read a lot, and I've really taken it upon myself to look for books and stories related to his songs (no problem, I love sci-fi and thrillers, even classics). Lately, I can't help but think that the album “Fictions” is related to the book by J. L. Borges, that idea has some logic (?) because after reading it a bit, I know that there are some (general) themes in common.

      @Hiza_chi 4 месяца назад +3

It makes sense! Since Soma is a fan of Borges' work 👀
I said it before but your thread on Twitter about the literature influences in Soma's songs was very interesting to read!
And I also became a shoegaze fan because of soma! haha he really opened my mind to new sounds, I'm grateful to him for that 😌

I love reading that people became fans because of his music! 😁 You got into Saito at such an amazing time! "Yin/Yang" was really dark but what a beautiful EP it is at its core. And just like you, "mirrors" gave me a nudge to not be as tough on myself. That song spoke to so many people on a deeper level, which is impressive (and yet, at the same time, expected as Saito knows how to craft a story in a relatable way).
Diving into all kinds of rock sub-genres, listening to shoegaze, geeking about his nods to literature, getting into his music is more than just "getting into his music", isn't it?
You make an interesting point with the book by J.L.Borges. I can see the parallels here. This album feels like a compilation of short stories around the same thematics: longing, nostalgia, and homesickness. So good guess, I really think you grasped the concept even before the album was out! 😁
Thanks for watching this video and leaving such an insightful comment!
