Hey Vanessa! Reeeeally happy you enjoyed the rec! Nisshoku is Team B's debut song in the story and was actually added to the game alongside Judas and monokaki as the team's first few songs. Blackstar is unique in the sense that the cast of characters are either performers or singers, so every team only has 1-2 (or even 3 in Team P and K) members that sing (these are the ones with dual casting). I think this is what makes Blackstar stand out from a lot of 2D projects and also gives the music an extra 'oomph'. It's really fun to see how each casting breathes life into the characters in their own way - whether through the seiyuu in the story or the singer in the song. Most of Blackstar's songs are actually based around literature/theatrical works etc., the ones that aren't are usually original stories created by the characters or Team B's diss tracks (which are also worth checking out btw). As you have mentioned, each of the 5 teams in Blackstar focuses on their own respective style of music so I feel that there's something for everyone to enjoy. Personally, I think what makes this series harder to get into (and more niche) is also because the music is not easily accessible at all (only 14 out of the 180 songs released in-game so far have their full versions available officially for streaming). (I get that they do this to market the albums to people lol but I can't help but wish more was available). Btw, the album you own has other Team B songs as well! (Tenma no Utage, Somewhere and Kyokuya, Just a Loser features Idetaku along with all of the singers as it's the 1st anni song). Also if anyone reading this comment is interested in seeing more, check out Daken (fun diss track), Mosquitone (both versions for idetaku's acting chops) and Ningen Shikkaku (a song of helplessness). Fun fact: Idetaku is also the writer for all of Team B's lyrics and has also created some of Team B's tracks too! Adds a nice personal touch to Team B's music me thinks, especially because in game, Heath is the one mainly in charge of Team B's music and a lot of the lyrics and things he raps about actually reflect himself moreso than whichever literary work they are basing their show off of. Which makes analysing his character very fun!

I didn’t expect Milgram to be featured here! 👀 I’m glad though! I really love this music franchise, it has some insanely good music, with some solid variety! I definitely recommend giving their songs a listen! You’re definitely right about this franchise having some heavy rock music(specifically with Natsuki Hanae’s character!) But the franchise also explores other genres as well, like Jazz and even pop. Another thing about Milgram is that their songs are central to each of the character’s backstories, so the songs are pretty heavy when it comes to storytelling. If you’re into that then I definitely recommend Milgram! If not, you’ll definitely still enjoy the music without understanding too much about the series!

We who are in the hanadoll fandom are still mourning Loulou*di, but, because of the evolution of their story, told through the drama tracks, it was somewhat to be expected. It was, kinda an appropiate end for them, if that makes sense... Thanks for the vid! I think i'll check that new project's music

4:47 You are correct in your assumption that Sengoku A Live is a game (or rather, was, bc the game got eos’d a few months ago) and I’m glad there’s someone out there who likes this project enough to suggest one of its songs! Takahashi Hiroki in particular is an interesting choice. I think his voice fits well with songs that have a nostalgic/classical vibe (see: Valkyrie) so it’s no surprise to me that he sounds really good here. The concept of the project, rearranged covers of old Japanese songs, is very niche, so it’s understandable that the game didn’t last very long. I still wish they’d release new covers again someday bc afaik the only music project Hiroki is active in rn is Enstars and I’d love to hear more of his singing.

It's a shame this project didn't get a huge fanbase, but at least we'll always have those awesome songs. Seriously, I love this lineup, so a dead project doesn't even faze me at this point, haha. You get used to it lol I really liked Shoya Chiba's aggressive rap style (I've heard him do something similar in another project, it was a short song), and SakaYuki's rap, plus Ogasawara Jin's melodic changes were killer. Someone pointed out you mixed up Junta Terashima's name, but with so many names to remember, it's understandable

This song came out nowhere lol it was such a change after that calm song, and while it was a shock, I really dig this new vibe. it's unlike anything else in current male seiyuu music. I've opinions on the whole album, but kyohansha is the kind of song I'll throw into my random playlist and enjoy from start to finish, haha

AAAAAAAAAAAAA amazing suggestion! I really love L4mps' music, their voices are incredibly soothing and comforting. Their style stands apart from other units, and also unique among the 2d project I follow, I would like to hear this type of songs more often. Just being hype about this unit 😅 They sing in this order, Komatsu Shohei, Takao Mitsumomi, Sakata Shogo, Sakakihara Yuki and Horie Shun. The last two are in the same high voice, but Horie have this colorful tone that I almost can recognized everywhere haha I'm not sure about Komatsu's singing skills but he sounds so good to me, I can really graps what he try to deliver. With Takao his deep voice really is the most recognizable, despite that it was the first time listening to him result quite memorable performance, his voice brings a new air to the song, that make it perfect. My impression about Sakata Shogo is that he can adapt to the line up, and maintain the vibe and deliver emotions in his singing, maybe not the "mvp" but complement the song.

Oooh UniteUp recommendation, the solo songs are excellent, as group you can find them with specific musical "troupe" (still remember you reaction with protostar that focused more in idol-pop song haha). However, with Daiki and his group LEGIT their sound is focused more in the stage performance, it's the best way I can describe. I really liked the song, especially his vocals. You really nailed it with the description of the character, a good analysis that it remember that the 2D project made a lot of things intentional.

A group which I didn't experience when it was active for a short time. I read in the comments that the songs are on platforms, so it removes the limitation of not being able to listen to them before. An amazing line up what deserves better, seriously. It great that more fans are still digging in the project, I just can dream for them to comeback and give us more song and live performance that is a MUST

Starting the Advent Calendar with a BANGERRRR 8:37 this part 😭☝️

Shoya Chiba's debut generated considerable excitement. I hope is that he will gain more creative freedom and involvement in his music production. He is exceptionally talented and possesses a broad range, capable of expressing diverse musical styles. Fun4re and Illuvista's debut was particularly moving, initially, many anticipated a debut for those who hadn't won. While their split was initially shocking, the resulting groups exceeded expectations in a welcome and unexpected way. The difference lies in the audience choosing the winner group (XlamV), being a feeling of "we create something" meanwhile, with the trainees that it had'nt debut there's the feeling surprise and expectations. The second season showcased the franchise's impressive growth. As you mentioned, the show maintains a realistic portrayal of kpop auditions. Seeing Yamashita and Takeuchi it made me feels like "Welcome back, loulou*di!", although Toshiyuki is not here haha (I wanted to him to be there). I know that their ttalent is undeniable, and the opportunity to influence their roles within their respective groups makes this season particularly promising. Please 2025 suprise us ;-;

He will be playing André in the new Rose of Versailles movie! I'm so excited to hear him in that role!😊

Personally, I'd love to see him focus more on rock, even pop-rock; he has a fantastic voice and expressive musicality. Saito Soma's album is a phenomenal experience, as I mentioned in a previous comment. It's a delightful departure from his previous album's dark, cohesive sound. This new album is a charming, endearing "mess". A captivating journey through diverse musical styles. 33:21 My current on-repeat album! I need to fully check out Dear Vocalist's band song, but the previews sound incredible 👀 52:20 Musically, Illuvista resonates with me more than fun4re, although fun4re has most of my favorite members. I particularly enjoy Cion's vocals (va Kobayashi Chiaki), so I'm glad they're focused in the different musical field where their voices have the major exposure. 1:04:03 From the moment I discovered Ogasawara Jin's music, I knew that he went on hiatus, prioritizing his voice acting career. That's perfectly fine with me, especially since he continues to sing in the projects I follow. His accomplishments are amazing, and I feel he can grow more with the new experience he's gaining. 1:05:56 Yes! Break My Case one of my top 3 mobage. My current favorite is Night Floating, but I'm gradually appreciating other tracks as well. I enjoyed the segment on the legal aspects of music, I was curious about the Shunichi's LOG album, and your explanation of the possible circumstances behind its release was enlighting. Particularly your point about seiyuu having their catalog retaining from previous labels is also a topic that I found interesting. I recall you mentioning Toshiyuki Toyonaga's experience with this. I found the discussion on the decreasing number of seiyuu duos something to analyze. I suspect this is duos equally compelling. I suspect this can be caused, due to the scheduling difficulties and perhaps a lack of shared artistic vision among them. Here my attempt to write some impression of this interesting episode, I'm happy that more people are participaing in the Advent Calendar, it will be exciting to see the finals picks that will be analyzed.
