Thank you Weezna, for informing all of us out here in audio land, even though the people who would ask this question i would consider no answering their request. They know just by the level of detail it's a lot.Nosey I would say.
I really do not think the prices were bad at all for what you got in the end that you'll make back quick so it pays for itself! Great job. Can you show the vocal room as well?
@@TrueSoundTV please do....I am in the process of building one im my basement. Framing, electrical, sound proofing, and sheetrock is in and mudded. Need to finish sanding and paint....deciding on flooring options and will need to install led lighting. The bigger question now is how much will I ultimately invest in equipment.
deadrealpro Sique it really depends on the grade of gear you get, how much do you need, are you recording, mixing, mastering, producing?? These all change the price dramatically. Either way I’ll do a video very soon
@@TrueSoundTV I do produce and have a decent amount of gear now. A lot of native instruments stuff. Yamaha HS8s, midi controllers: novation launchkey, akai mpk25, etc. I will upgrade a lot though. But I will get a digital console (budget: new presonus studio live 32), outboard racks for compression, etc. I do want to master as well. I will stay tuned. Your lab looks awesome though!
Whats more important is a recording studio is only as great as the engineer. 1M studio with bad engineer = bad sound quality vs 1K studio with Talented engineer equal 1m studio sound.
Did your Finished Product sound any better? I know a comfortable and pleasing workspace is important from a "pro" appearance standpoint but, it really only matters what ends up coming out of those speakers! I'm not being fasceious but, at the end of the day, was all the aesthetics worth it? I'm hoping that it was, if my studio looked that good, I could stop having to eq my continuous negative reflections from my mix!
Kurt LeBlanc Yeah exactly! But I also saved money by buying stuff in bulk, and obviously the labor of actually doing just about all the work myself cut down the cost immensely
@@TrueSoundTV Here in FL you have to be licensed and insured for all that stuff. Your bulk prices are pretty darn good then. I get close to bulk but spent way more in materials. But I'm building from the ground up.
Kurt LeBlanc So yes here in New York you also have to be licensed to do the electrical, plumbing, structure, and HVAC except… If you are the homeowner!!! For me, because I own the home, I got all the permits, did all the work, and got all of the permits finalized through the town! I know it’s not like this in every town, but fortunately in my case it all worked out.
I’d be interested to know your square footage to get an idea of $ per sq. Ft. Also, it’d be great to see a video of lessons learned / things you’d do differently next time. Thanks for sharing all this - fantastic resource!!!
i would like to know where or what building or warehouse is good to build a recording studio private or comercial and the difference ive heard its better a private location is better
Thanks for the break down. That HVAC total seems low for all you mentioned. Do I recall correctly that you didn't feel like the green glue was worth the cost?
testubevideos Not a problem. So with the HVAC, the actual units themselves are not that expensive, and since I did all the labor, connection, and setup myself, that was the actual cost. I have no reason to make up any of these numbers, this was the actual cost of everything
@@TrueSoundTV No worries, not accusing you of making up numbers. I had looked at installing my own mini split not too long ago, and the unit alone was like $1200 and if you installed it yourself they would void the warranty, so it pretty much forced you to hire an HVAC installer. I couldn't recall what type of heating/cooling unit you went with, but the total you gave seemed like a really good price compared to what I had priced out.
@@VersatileRaps What I mean is, this band wants to record an album but they don't have a record deal. They rent out a professional commercial studio for the day, and pay a freelance audio engineer to do all the work such as setting up mics, tracking and mixing? Is this a thing?
I am on septic and the tank is about 60 feet away. There’s no pitch that would ever be able to get me to the septic tank without elevating the toilet a few feet in the air. This was my only option
DavidSJ yeah I mean it actually is a bit more money than me and my wife thought but if I would have paid somebody to do all the labor then it would be closer to three times the cost

What's even more impressive to me was watching you do the actual work - dude, you're definitely multi-skilled!
Congratulations brother! Well done!!!
Dude, thanks so much for putting this series together! Amazing work!
Looking forward for the next series 👍
great video fr fr thank you
Really cool. Subscribed.

I would find it very interesting to hear what all the tech itself like the console, monitors, effects, mic etc cost you
One millions of dollars hahahah
Max Hopp yeah honestly I don’t really know. Maybe one day when I have free time to sit down and write it all down, and figure it all out I will

great video, wish you'd included the audio gear as well
Wow, this is good to know. Thanks for the video!!!
Nathaniel Johnson Jr absolutely, thanks for watching
Hearing your intro reminded me of ...."EA Sports, It's in the game"

Absolutly true, The money, gear, and room means nothing if you don't know how to use it!
Can you put a list of studio equipments and items and links in description? Or here in the comments? Would like to know the set up
Slimslimer yeah I’m going to be doing a breakdown video of all the hardware that I use and I will list it all then.
Very cool. You said there is a vox booth and obviously a contol room. What else is there and how big?
Thanks!!
This is great thanks!

@TrueSoundStudios for your electrical, did you use conduit and twisted live/neutral to reduce hum, or did you use standard Romex/NM-B 12-2 wiring?
Wow! That's exceptionally inexpensive even considering you did it DIY except for drywall!

This guy is a genious
Risto Takkala haha thank you
Nice thanks for the price breakdown
Stephan Nolan thanks for watching!
Jack of all trades!!
I've built my own miniature studio using tic tacs and Pez dispenses.
Sounds about right
Seen this on ig. I was like...Are you on RUclips...Then after I added that comment the last few seconds of the video played
I’d be interested to know your square footage to get an idea of $ per sq. Ft. Also, it’d be great to see a video of lessons learned / things you’d do differently next time. Thanks for sharing all this - fantastic resource!!!
Roughly 3,000 sq ft! I did post a video titled " Suggestions and things to consider before building" which is exactly what your asking about!
Well there goes my dreams 😢
Looks like the studio I'm thinking about is going to cost around equivalent of $240k USD in my part of the world, just to isolate and treat

If possible could you give me a whole estimate on everything equipment building and everything
twice that is still a good deal!
Is it possible to be a freelance recording engineer that produces bands by renting out professional studios?
In California yes

sir please, ozone 8 plugins complete information
Music Director Kailas Valvi what?
Why an upflush toilet?
I am on septic and the tank is about 60 feet away. There’s no pitch that would ever be able to get me to the septic tank without elevating the toilet a few feet in the air. This was my only option
I'll be honest with you...that was significantly cheaper than I figured it would be...

Could you imagine what it would cost if you had someone do it for you? 3 or 4 times you cost possible??
Michael Douglas oh absolutely, about 3x is what I was roughly quoted

I get 20,(9)73 but I like your number better.
Ontogeny ha ha yeah it’s possible
