Another tip, when importing textures into SubP, you can press Ctrl + A to select all and set them to texture/ whatever without having to change each individual import setting.
At 23:44, how did she get a height map from the bake? This is a 3 year old video and even in the latest version, substance painter doesn't bake a height map from the high poly, correct?
Everything she says is right, but not all tips are universal. For example, about the density of the textural space. Texel Density. For game characters, for example, it is very difficult to keep all parts of a character in the same density. Considering that his face needs much more ...
Has anyone got a link to that "skin shader chris narchi" not showing up on substance share. :( Also Metal Grinded\ Gold Natural\ Silk Duchesse Satin also don't show up :(
I don't really get why every leave needs it's own texture. Isn't that a huge waste of texture-space? You maybe could've get variety in a better way than texturing every leave in a slightly different way. Same for the shingles. Just my 2 cents.
11:30 That is not possible in videogames... We need to save memory, so most of the time we need to assign different weitghts depending on the detail needed on that section... Usually, as the most common example, the face will have a higher pixel density than the body... Trying to match the body with the face density, would consume too much memory... Matching the face with the body, would look really bad, as you need more detail tehre.
i like to believe that we share the interest Not as a man or as a female , black , white , so when she injects identity politics in this im gona push a dislike. I dont want politics into Art at all. So why did she have to do that. i sure hope that shes there because she is skilled. not because shes a woman.

it says hight, but that clearly is a thickness map.
Didn't you guys just upload a video about Hard Surface texturing? It got quickly deleted.

Aren't UDIMs suppose to solve that ?

Less of an issue with pre-rendered.
