I personally know several people of gen x and boomers who are intensely invested in the future and many young people who don’t give a crap.

I remember the fake Bikini pic that went viral in neo-con spaces.
Funnily enough JD would've been in those spaces (albeit as a young man) but the titillation was a major factor.

      The aging white population
      Fewer white births than deaths
Lower fertility rates than other racial and ethnic groups
A shrinking number of white women of childbearing age

Wouldn't giving millennial parents more votes backfire spectacularly?
Not only because of that demographic being more likely to vote for Democrats in the first place, but also because conservative parents might actually engage with their children about politics. They might ponder way more than they do now about the consequences of the votes and at least some might talk to their (somewhat older) children about their views and what and whom they want the parents to vote for. It might allow a lot of conservative parents to view politics through the eyes of the youngest generations and all the future problems they will have to face.
I think it might gain Democrats more votes than Republicans and maybe even peel off a lot of unengaged voters who vote Republican only because of it being a tradition in the family since Lincoln.
So, maybe let's do this. And maybe let's lower the voting age to get that burden off the parents as early as possible.
Children are not represented by their government. And maybe that should change.
