I ordered 2 of the Tab S7+. One is for my girlfriend who is a writer and the other for myself because I've been dying for a premium tablet but hate the Apple ecosystem. We are both super excited for these to arrive!
I bought my Tab S6 in October last year and I've been using it on and off since February this year. I'm very happy with it. My usage will only increase from here on out.
Great comparison. I was searching for a video that compares the s6 and the s7 plus in order to decide if it was worth the upgrade. And after watching you video, I took the leap and went with the 256GB with 8GB ram as well. Also, getting a trade in value of $450 for the s6 wasn’t too shabby. Keep up the good work. I will definitely sub and check out your other videos.
your Review clarified a lot, for example the latency of s pen in tab s6 I found it very similar to s7, this helps a lot when deciding who is interested in s pen, thanks!
I have owned the original Tab S, the Tab S4, and now the S7+. The extra screen real estate on this tablet really lends itself to viewing in landscape mode more than the 10.5 inch display. I used to use the other tablets in portrait mode all the time unless I was watching a video. The 120hz is really great. you do notice the blurring of 60hz on a large screen more than on a phone, and it can make you feel a bit nauseated after a session of social media scrolling.
Yes I Prefer Samsung Tablet S7+, I Love Android & the Free Ecosystem!!! I always Carry it & Put Inside My Little Bag, Walk Around & Enjoy for Watching RUclips. Online Tv, Movies on Caffe,Mcdonald,BurgerKing & Train!!! I love it Yay!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Great comparison! Could you do a review on the Surface Pro 7 vs the Tab S7+? I'm kind of torn between the 2 because if I trade in my Tab S6, I can get the Tab S7+ with the keyboard cover for $700. I figured if I would spend that much, why not look at a Surface Pro 7 - and of course the one I'm looking at is on sale at Best Buy for $799 (i5/8GB/128GB/Keyboard cover bundle). If I were to get the Surface Pro and spend the extra money, I could keep my Tab S6 and have a portable Windows machine instead. I just don't know though :[
Ed, I agree with you thaf if one owns a Tab S6, then upgrading to a Tab S7 is not as massive a leap as it could have been. Howevr, I don't have the same opinion of the S7 as you have based on its use of display other than amoled. It is true that an amoled screen would have made the Tab S7 a much better proposition, but your absolutist inzistence on amoled tends to disguise the many ways in whicb the tab S7 has moved past the Tab S6. It is in my opinion a better overall tablet than the Tab S6, and yet Samsung has seen fit to keep the the price the same as the Tab S6 at launch. Like you . I have a preference for amoled, but I don" t consider amoled displays to be the b-ll and end-all in my purchasing ddcisions. If I was a prospective buyer, and looking for my first device on a limited budget, I would easily go for the Tab S7 over the Tab S6, unless I couls purchase the Tab S6 at a considerably reduce price. IPAD pros do not have amoled displays, buy I still veyr nuch enjoy using mine. Of course, the Tab S7+ is the perfect choice for me, but I would not discount the Tab S7, or indeed a discounted Tab S6.
I agree the tab s7 has advantages over the tab s6 (i.e. the better keyboard case, improved latency and 120 hz screen). And the visual difference from amoled to lcd at that size especially isn't as substantial as the specs suggest. I do admit that it is a shame the tab s5e came with amoled and the tab s7 doesn't. Don't understand that decision. However, even though I bought the s7 plus, I still think the s7 is a better buy than the s6 for those reasons. I traded a tab s5e and got the s7 plus with keyboard case for $590.00 after all discounts and credits.
Exactly! I was hyped about buying the S6, until I heard about the S7. I was 2 days from buying the S6. And idc about LCD or AMOLED, because I love LCD and both. So now after seeing the Tab S7, my hype for the S6 died, plus I don't like older tablets (1 year older). I always prefer the newest one. That S-Pen, 120hz, 865+ SD, etc. is enough for me to choose the newest tablet over the S6.
Unless you own a tab s4 with only 4gb of ram and 64gb storage like me which I'm trading it in for the tab s7 plus 512gb storage 8g of ram is a major upgrade
Brotha1984 I'm upgrading from my Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016), 1.5GB RAM, and only 8GB storage, to the Tab S7! I loved my Tab A, nice screen and performance, but the 8GB storage is what stressed me! Almost 4 years where I couldn't download anything, had to clear cache so many times every day, or delete apps and pics, just to download something. I was always with around 0-300MB of storage lol So games ran so slowly. Something tells me I'm gonna love my Tab S7 :)
I bought the Galaxy Tab S6 256GB last August 2020 and I am thinking about upgrading to S7 Plus. I mean, I have no problem with this tablet because it did what I expect it to do. I don't mind the larger screen and wondering whether I should upgrade to S7 Plus or wait?
Loved your in depth comparison, do you think I should purchase tab s8+ or fix my tab s6 cracked screen, as tab s6 is android 9 and probably won't get any system updates after android 12, thx
Nice comparison, I got my Tab S7 I can say I love the screen size and that 120hrz, I also did trade my Tab S6 for 450, but just give you a heads up not sure if you saw on the samsung website but I got the 512gb internal storage model so just letting you know there is that model too. Anywho awesome video 👏
How's the tab s7 screen?? I really want to get it but I really prefer amoled, but I've seen some reviews saying it's a really nice lcd and 1 review said they liked it more the the s6 display.
The AMOLED screen has very noticeable burned highlights and slightly more details in the blacks, the LCD has much more details in highlights. If we take in consideration the PWM (causes eye strain) of the S7+ panel and the heavy burned highlights, the LCD is a much better display, I prefer the S7 hands down.
I agree to gays LCD screen is beter for tablets not crach pixels more breaking resistance beter for the aes and not eat more power for battery is more economy and i see the and better realistic contrasts like real life LCD beter 😊😀💝👍
You lost me at the S7 is not worth purchasing. I bought both to compare form factor and screens, then keeping the one I like better. The screens are strikingly similar when comparing 4k HDR and with the low latency SPEN and 120hz screen for drawing, it's smooth as butter. In all honesty, I prefer the smaller S7 for its form factor. That's just my preference but it's wrong for you to tell people to not even consider the S7 as the screen is still awesome!
For me personally Tab S7 LCD display is awesome 👌 120hz , 11 inch perfect. By the way all apple ipads use LCD display ,it really a matter of preference.
@@dreamthedream8929 If you use the tablet in dark places, oled is 1000 times better than any ips screen, even with local dimming zones like the mini led one on the ipad. If you use it in very bright envitoments, ok is fine ips (buy who on earth would only use them during day time and with no shade)

For my purposes which is to just do some light productivity work online - likely i wont game nor watch videos, i was really even considering a cheap generic brand for cheap, so i would really like to stick with cheap/affordable
I actually love reviews that aren't quick! I hate that most reviewers would give a "full review" in like 8-10 minutes like "no no that's not a full review" lol great review by the way!
Right now as of November 10-2020 the s6 is $330 from samsung, plus I have a tab A 10.5 that I'm getting $75 for trade in and bringing it to $250. The s7 plus is like $760 with trade in. I'm tempting for the size even though I like the s7 plus for the size and 120hz, but at $250? It will be even more powerful than my current galaxy s9. I like small phones cuz their portable and I'm a one hand use men, but at home I wish I had something big to watch all my media, like RUclips, Netflix, Hulu. So what do you think? Should I pull the trigger for the tab s6? Don't care for the s pen.
I have had the same opinion since 2012 that no display even comes close to Samsungs Amoled displays. I still prefer the first Galaxy s 1 screen to the latest and best none Amoled screens. Its a completely different thing.
Thank you for the video. I bought the Samsung S7 plus mainly for art and media. It seemed a bit big and I was curious about the S6, I will stay with the tab S7 plus bc the pen experience and refresh rate does matter to me.
Only in portrait mode. It's not comfortable to use that way as it's a bit cumbersome to hold with one hand due to how top heavy it is. Plus it just looks really lopsided when held vertically. So not a good tablet for reading comics or such which are better to be viewed vertically and with a squarer screen. But in landscape it's not at all difficult to handle. It's so thin and lightweight that the size isn't a problem. Since that's how most content is best viewed, then it's no problem for me.
IPS for tablet is perfect!!!! S6 keyboard is perfect. Problem was that most users didn't understand how it works ( vacuum based, not adhesive). To grease was the problem
$230 for the keyboard cover is absolutely ridiculous. Samsung really screwed up on that price. I lucked out and got an open box s6 with keyboard case for 330. I really like the idea of the larger display and could get the s7+ for 349... I'd have to shell out another 229 for the keyboard case??? no thanks
Same. My S21 Ultra really has me spoiled with it's super smooth 120Hz display and the performance is mind blowing. I'm thinking about trading in for the Tab S7 plus.
Nabbed my Tab S6 (6 ram, 128 ssd) for only $350 US. At that price, the choice is a no-brainer. And I get 9 hours of continuous RUclips viewing at 100% brightness (power saving off)...
Thanks so much for the excellent video. Nothing more accurately said about selling IPS LCD on tablets than "screwing consumers". absolutely. The only thing is I am a portrait mode person. I use my tablet for reading scientific papers, books, all in PDF/EPUB and software programs. I own a tab S6, hands down "Awesome". Needing that vertical space, I thought I might try out a larger device for a nice large print and a more vertical screen may be a true 8.5x11 and A4 size device. I am not an Apple fan all however, I had to try out the 12.9 iPad pro seeking that physical paper size with a nice 4:3 aspect ratio. I failed to convince myself to keep it simply because, every time I look at my Samsung S6, the IPad display looks outdated. The LCD is so unevenly illuminated. It was so annoying. No way of comparison with Samsung OLED, no way. You are absolutely right. Samsung, please, I am begging you, and I am sure many people do too, not all people need a 16:10 landscape. Please give use some 4:3, or even 3:2 aspect ratio like that on the Tab S3. I am among many people who use their tablets and pays this amount for more serious productivity than just to watch movies. I wish my voice gets heard by you Samsung.
I am just so disappointed at Samsung this year. I really want the 11-inch model as it is the perfect size for me but with no AMOLED screen is a deal-breaker. I also get mine on cellular and the fact that I cannot buy a 256 8 gig is also a let down. Anyways thank you for the reviews I love your Channel
Where I live, the S7+ costs double the price of the S6 and I really want am amoled screen, besides I want portability so I got an S6, happy with my decision and saved a lot of money.. (here the taxes are so high that everything last gen is ridiculously expensive!)
Ok can anyone help me make a decision. I have a 2011 iMac that I need to sell on. But considering just going for a tablet as its just media use now. I have a work laptop and use and andrroind phone. The imac has served me so well Do I go for Ipad air 2020 with pencil. Samsung s7+
I LOVE my s6. The sound is freaking amaaaaazing!!! U cant use120fps via shareplay on ps5 with either. But, the 120hz display is nice for future proofing..BUT, future proofing only gies so far. S8 needs to be FULL 4k native 120hz display. Not 2k li,e the s6. Still, pixels per inch is nice! You can get the s6 for a steal these days. I love it. If u wanna see a late review please sub and request in one of my videos. But i use it for gaming, movies, art, music, its great. If i had the s7 id never buy another tablet. But, when the s9 comes around, it will hopefully be sweet
I don't like huge tablets, so I went with the Tab S7! Mobility and comfyness. ☺️ Samsung tablets are the best tablets out there (for me). I have the iPad Mini 5, love it so much, but iPads can't beat them.
Dream TheDream89 best desicion I have ever made! Most gorgeous screen I have ever owned! I can't stop staring at this display, watching videos and showing it to all my closed ones. Reviewers were right when they said you couldn't even tell the difference between the S7 and S7+ screen and I could see it on their videos! The Tab S7 is unlike anything I have seen and this unbelievable tablet has made me more of a fan of Samsung. Samsung NEVER fails and never disappoints. I 200% recommend either of the Tab S7 tablets! You will not be disappointed and you will fall in love with Samsung devices. Glad I didn't choose the 1 year old Tab S6 and went with the newest one. I will never buy old devices over the newest one. The S5e was never a choice for me, doesn't even have an SPen, it's like the ugly child of the Tab S series. The Tab S7s are the best tablets out there! And I say it while I type to you from my new iPad Mini 5. The Tab S7s make iPads and iOS feel so boring and limited. The Tab S7s will turn many people from being iPad Pros users to the Samsung Tab S users when they use these beauties. 🙂
@@Seroxm13 ty for this comment. I don't understand this guys problem recommending tab s6 and even tab s5e over tab s7. Tab s5e doesn't even have s-pen. Lmao.
the way you tested the latency doesn't show really the difference between both tablets. To see the difference you have to write sentences, the act of constantly touching and removing the pen from the display is make a huge difference. When doing so, the Tab 6 is reaaaaally SLOW.
Honestly buy s6 lite or tab a you hardly notice difference unless its side by side i have s5e for 450 pounds but better however tab a 10.2 for 150 pounds
Anyone notice when pressing the power button to power on the device the screen flickers before booting up the Samsung logo Secured by Knox screen? S7 plus
i bought the s7 plus 3 y ago and here am i now, 2024, looking for a downgrade, cause damn, that screen too big, and s7 itself doesnt have super amoled.
Also you know what I don't understand is this is the flagship why do they not match in the smaller model and the bigger model spec for spec and why not 12 gigs of RAM like on the Note Ultra. It only makes sense if this is designed for work and fun that it would have at least 8 to 12 gigs of RAM with at least 256 gigs of storage or more
Keyboard cover alone was the main reason I got rid of the tab s6 4G... But you dont need to use a knife to remove it...instructions on samsung website... But what a disgrace!
I got the Tab S6 even knowing about the keyboard cover fiasco. I didn't buy the very expensive Samsung keyboard cover, I got a 3rd party backlit bluetooth keyboard over for 1/4 the price. It works great.
It SHOULD exist. I waited months for it, just so it is only a 12.4" S7? No. I will never buy a tablet that huge, even 11" is big enough for me, but I'd buy it. If they didn't release the S7, many of us wouldn't have bought the newest S7 tablets. Thanks to the S7 existing, I bought it for its size and price. I would never pay $850 and I would never buy a tablet bigger than 11" inches. It'd be really wrong from Samsung ro forget about us, the ones who like smaller tablets and that liked their $650 price for the S6, etc.
Apple dominated the tablet market because they decided to go all in. Google and Samsung treats Android tablet development like a weekend project . So Sad SMH.
This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

No because it's not a PC. It's android.
Very informative, thanks. But I can imagine that the s7+'s size makes it a bit difficult to handle. True?
I'd have to shell out another 229 for the keyboard case??? no thanks
Is amoled that much better than lcd? I mean, the s7 has 120 hz, while the s6 is 60 hz. Is it worth it to get the amoled instead of the 120 hz?
I would take amoled over lcd regardless of refresh rate.
Same doubt I also have.👍🏻
What the S pen latency of Tab S7
Watching this on my tab S6 lol
Same
What is there to lol about that lol?
Same. My S21 Ultra really has me spoiled with it's super smooth 120Hz display and the performance is mind blowing. I'm thinking about trading in for the Tab S7 plus.
Should I upgrade to the tab s7+?
In my country they sell Tab 6 with 6gb ram only , Do you recommend that?
ya
Nabbed my Tab S6 (6 ram, 128 ssd) for only $350 US. At that price, the choice is a no-brainer.
And I get 9 hours of continuous RUclips viewing at 100% brightness (power saving off)...
Can you try the new s pen on the tab s6? is the delay the same?
Tab S6 doesn't have 120 hz screen. So latency will be same regardless of pen.
Same here 😔
I have the tab s6 so I don't know if I should upgrade.I like what they're giving for a trade in
The only reason I bought the tab s6 is because of the smaller size. Tab s7 plus (12.4 inches). Tab s6 (10.5 inches).
Where I live, the S7+ costs double the price of the S6 and I really want am amoled screen, besides I want portability so I got an S6, happy with my decision and saved a lot of money.. (here the taxes are so high that everything last gen is ridiculously expensive!)
s6 (737$) s7+ (1475$), double the price for 120hz in Denmark xD
double sided tape for the s6 keyboard cover if it won't stay on- use a couple of strips- should work, no?
@Kilómetro i dont think, that is the secret to my stunning success
@Kilómetro nails or staples?
Yes Amoled is a must
Isn't the S7 way better? The only lacking is them using lcd? S7 bigger screen, better spen latency and better keyboard cover.
The S7 is a great screen. Yes. It may not be amoled and may not be quite as vibrant. But it’s perfectly fine for most people.
Have you noticed the infamous green tint on your unit on low brightness levels in grey backgrounds?
I have not
Not happening on 5g models from what i read.Maybe some batch
No in my tab s6
I bought my s6 2 yrs ago and I've been using it everyday, but I'm thinking of upgrading to s7+ because I want a bigger screen to draw on
Ok can anyone help me make a decision. I have a 2011 iMac that I need to sell on. But considering just going for a tablet as its just media use now. I have a work laptop and use and andrroind phone. The imac has served me so well
Do I go for
Ipad air 2020 with pencil.
Samsung s7+
Doesnt both the tab s6 and s7 plus come in cellular varients
Good review.
so i'm looking for a tablet to take notes for classes and drawing and i'm not shure about chosing the s6 ans s7 can someone help me?
Best comparative online. I wouldn't even consider Tab S7.
I am a high school student and Im deciding on whether to buy s7plus 6 or 8 RAM. Buying it today PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! THANK YOU SO MUCH
You should be fine with 6gb but go with 8 if you can.
I am very good explanation when I buy one if I take tab6 or tab 7 plus or the regular one
Hope i had the money to afford tab s7plus :(
I don't like huge tablets, so I went with the Tab S7! Mobility and comfyness. ☺️
Samsung tablets are the best tablets out there (for me). I have the iPad Mini 5, love it so much, but iPads can't beat them.
Oh no, why did you go for tab 7?? You could have got tab 6 or s5e both of which have the best displays and dex modes.
Lmao.
Charles Davis makes no sense to buy them over the S7. Especially the S5e LOL The S5e is like the ugly child of the Tab S series.
@@ChillydontCap I got it precisely because it didnt have the pen lol.
the way you tested the latency doesn't show really the difference between both tablets. To see the difference you have to write sentences, the act of constantly touching and removing the pen from the display is make a huge difference. When doing so, the Tab 6 is reaaaaally SLOW.
Tab s6 size is just right for reading manga.
Honestly buy s6 lite or tab a you hardly notice difference unless its side by side i have s5e for 450 pounds but better however tab a 10.2 for 150 pounds
Dude, you are dope!
Anyone notice when pressing the power button to power on the device the screen flickers before booting up the Samsung logo Secured by Knox screen? S7 plus
Yes.
A defect? I returned mines.
afocused2010 Not at all.
Can we expect tab S7 lite in future ?
I wouldn't be surprised.
i bought the s7 plus 3 y ago and here am i now, 2024, looking for a downgrade, cause damn, that screen too big, and s7 itself doesnt have super amoled.
Tab S7 is the best
You made up my mind. I'm trading up. $500 trade in for the 7+ Thank you
Your seem such a cool guy
im new to tablets and im considering s6 (737$) over s7+ (1475$), double the price for 120hz and larger screen xD
In case of Apple, fresh money pays for the same ol crap, faster processor.
I agree with you. Galaxy Tab S7 shouldn't even exist, yes it cost $200 less but it's a weaker version. Same for S10E and S10+ last year
It SHOULD exist.
So Sad SMH.
I agree but I think we have turned the corner.
