    This is the best video I've seen on how to rebuild your carburetor. Thanks for an excellent presentation. I've been looking for a video like this. Excellent! Thanks so much!

    This in my opinion is an exceptionally well done instructional video, thanks. The carb cleaner on your bare hands is probably not a good practice to follow though.

    I have a Poulan Pro 42cc model# pp4218A .The carb is a ZAMA C1M w26c402A . I have Fully cleaned and replace it back on the unit and it still acts like it's skipping . What is my problem ?

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  8 лет назад

      +Rusty Fox You may need to open the carburetor back up and running carburetor cleaner through it again. The orifices in these carbs are very small and the tiniest piece of dust can cause problems. Also, check for any vacuum leaks.

      Done and everything was done correctly the first time , Coil was showing a rub bare spot just under the Brake mount - don't know why it was placed there - never the less - The bare wire was allowing a Miss Fire -?- I still say it is a Manufacture Defect - placement of parts in a location where it is subjectable to wear or damage in Any manner - If I were a repair man and had repaired such device in this way , I would be liable !!! Funny how Corporations seem to weasel out of obligations ????? Thank you and Good Day !

    How can you stand spraying those chemicals on your hands? It gets absorbed through the skin, so nitrile gloves are a great boon to protect yourself from that stuff!

  • @TheLastRealPatriot

    Can you use wd-40 to clean the carburetor?

    • @ChubbaBoastinTone766
      @ChubbaBoastinTone766 10 лет назад +4

      Trying to clean a carb with WD 40 would be the equivilent of trying to wash used axle grease off your walls with grape juice. The varnish and gum build-up in a fuel system require an extremely powerful emulsifier/ cleaner to eradicate...something that WD 40 is definitely not.

    • @TheLastRealPatriot
      @TheLastRealPatriot 10 лет назад

      I use brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner usually. Was just curious the effect it would have.

  • @JohnDiMartino
    @JohnDiMartino 9 лет назад +13

    You are supposed to remove the high and low speed screws before cleaning the carb and blow them out with air when done....and brake lean on your bare hands violates the labels instructions...and it very bad for you...rubber gloves for using harsh chemical is a must..

    what is the number on the carb kit you used

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  9 лет назад +1

      carl clark This video was made a while ago. If my memory is correct the model was a Makita DSC341. the carb kit for this model is957-150-040. It's important to get the kit designed for your model. Most of these have Walbro Carburetors on them. These carbs have a number stamped on them and the repair kit can be found by using the carburetor model number too.

    Video is great, but for the exceptions noted by other about gloves. But rebuilding the carburetor is not completed until you have it adjusted.

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  6 лет назад

      You're absolutely right, Reg! Once the carburetor has been re-installed, it needs to be adjusted before the chainsaw runs at its best!
