I like the ponds by the airport, but like trees, they'll draw in birds. In reality they could be a problem, in the game they work very well. Sadly I am caught up in this series, looking forward to the next one.
This is such an amazing series! I often have issues coming up with designs and ideas for my cities, and I have bad anxiety over butchering stuff... But this time I'm following you step by step and I've learnt so much! Very accessible information, designs are easy to replicate, and most importantly, it's so fun! Really thankful for these series, keep on going :)
That's awesome to hear! It took me a bit to become confident in this game as well. And even now still have times where I feel like m in over my head. I think that's the crux of anything creative. I learned to play with it though and to trust my instincts.
In some city building games like Cities: Skylines, I need to memorize the parts of an airport such as the control tower, passenger terminals, cargo terminals, terminal gates, concourses, hangars, runways, taxiways and more. Also, choosing a location for the airport is important, but commonly, a flat area to build an airfield is commonly the best option and should be miles away from the downtown core or center of a core city.
It’s really nice seeing airplanes fly over cities that have beautiful buildings and landmarks, especially at night and evening, it’s nice seeing the lights of the cities while seeing airplanes fly over. So epic when cities have airports which means that airplanes taking off and landing would fly over the beautiful cities. It would be epic to play some epic music to airplanes flying as well.
I believe the markings etc between taxi lanes and runways is a visual for pilots due to there height and width of the planes makes it easier to spot and act like Chevrons on UK motorway markers for distance
Airport off camera build is so much better than the one on the video Better look will be to have bend of the road removed and have it straight Also you can create more road connection to the road going parallels to cargo line May be have another enterance on the other side also near the lake.
Thanks for the suggestion! I almost wished I would have redone the whole episode. I had though about so many new ideas after I had built the bulk if it. It turned out well though
I’m thinking that the highway access for the airport could be done using a circular road (a.k.a. Roundabout) in the area between where the highway drops below ground and where it comes back up. Four ramps connecting the highway above ground to the roundabout and the road leading to the airport connecting equidistantly around the roundabout would look nice.
I've been waiting for this because I just can't build a good one so I'll probably copy yours as best I can. The only way for passengers to get to the larger plane terminal seems to be the metro, no roads are hooked up. You should put in some underground paths maybe? Give them the option to walk over.
Thanks A J! Yeah, those concourse hubs are tough. They are intended to inky have train access. It would be nice if there was a way to get road access though
I dont think you need the second taxi way on each runway. The take off planes taxi to the back and take off, the landing planes land and use the one road
One thing that bothers me about every CS airport I see is the inclusion of freight rail. I worked at FedEx for about a year and a half so I can say air cargo NEVER touches rails. By definition it’s fast moving freight which doesn’t have time to spend being lugged around on trains, it goes straight in the back of a trailer and out for delivery as soon as it gets to the airport.
I swear you sound just like the sim settlements modder kinggath. it's uncanny lol nice videos too. giving me some good ideas for my next city. definitely subbing.
I can't find this metro station at all, there's no mention of it anywhere in relation to the bridges and piers CCP by Armesto. Anyone able to link it for me please?
Great video! In my mock up of this city I am having tons of traffic problems at the entrance of the city and on the major highways that run through the city are your experiencing the same problems?
I am near the downtown but nothing to crazy. My traffic stands at about 83%. I created a few bypass ramos for the main interchange by the front of the city. I believe I showed it in one of the episode but maybe not. I have a save loaded up on steam you could check out
@@CityZilla Thank you. Been driving me crazy when I watch YT videos and the author is like "I'll just go up 5u" and I'm like I don't have that...I looked in the workshop and I can't find it. Maybe I didn't explain my question clearly. For example. When you are building a road and you are dragging it out, next your cursor is displayed 6u or 10u mine only displays the cost. I want to display the u.
Does anyone know how to make it so your planes can import things without them backing up on the taxiway? My planes also don't utilise all of the aircraft stands, they just sit in the taxi way queuing for one or two taxi ways and barely use the rest. It's so frustrating.
Hi, can you update your saves on steam workshop please? I think they are broken with this mods and objects now and game crash. btw. great job, like always. Thank you!
I keep my playlists in order. Episode numbers can be discouraging for some people if they see a video they are interested in but see it's episode 20 or something like that

Where the que wall for the lake out back?!?
Right now I am suffering from anxiety and depression watching you build and design stuff like this helps me

The "path" lining the taxi-ways are ditches filled with gravel to prevent flooding- Hope this helps :)
Love it!
You only need to place few earthquake sensors for jump the power and you can adjust it if the distance close enough.
I was hoping you would add a taxi stand but amazing job you helped me really understand how to use that dlc
18:25 "This is not gonna...Fly."
The city is crying for residential 😭
Housing crisis can't be contained to just the real world
Your videos have taught me soooo much and now I'm able to build thriving cities with my creativity! Thank you!

That's what I was thinking. I'm not an airport pro though so it's all about learning for me
You have to connect the small terminal with the medium plane stands to your main terminal for ot to work
It has a metro platform underneath so you can run a short shuttle line from the metro station outside of the main building.
Yeah, I did end of connecting it. I had forgotten. Thanks Dude!

Another epic airport design from the king of aesthetics. 👑
You're to kind Joy! Happy to see you stopping by! I hope everything is going well for you and your channel!
Fantastic vanilla airport man! I was stuck for a month thinking where to start
Airports can be tough
@@CityZilla absolutely! Specially when we cant delete runways 🤦🏻♂️

Never heard of the guy. I'll check him out. Glad you enjoyed the build!
Wow, impressing! I really like it
You need to model this airport like mci in kc. Also having 6 roadways come together in the middle is asking for traffic issues.
Yeah, I was a bit ify about that interesection as well. We may have to change it.
Good Built, But you should check your cargo aircraft stands if they are working because of the taxiways only coming into them and no way to taxi back.
Thank you! Planes can back out of taxiways until they get to a cross roads.
I like your video's you got style for building very nice cities and also your comment is great thank you
Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying it!
10:53 would this underground octopus actually be built in real life though? Would be crashes and backups down there constantly.
There are underground incherchanges. I go over this a bit in my crater lake series.
@@CityZilla Awesome, I'll watch that series!
Planes:Collide on the taxiway...CityZilla"the taxiways a running pretty good" .the planes have gone boom.
🤣

That’s a massive airport 😯
How do you keep the water in the pond without overflowing or going dry
Mods
Extra landscaping tools
You just keep turning the pump on and off. This series does not have any mods but it is way easier with them if you do play with mods.

Great, great content. Suggestion: EQ the high frequencies on your commentary down a bit. Your "S" sounds are a little harsh
Thanks for the tip!
What about build taxi depots and spots in downtown and airport?
Wonderful! Waht is the mode/mod or setting that allows you to see the U when building?
Freeform?

Yeah, it's a big with the dlc unfortunately
Subscribed!
do you use any DLC's or extra modpacks?
I slowly add dlcs in this series with only visual mods

@@CityZilla Yes, except music. I try everything, but if you say saves and mods are actual, so meybe i'm doing something wrong

You could use ultimate level of detail to increase the detail distance
how did u make ur roads darker?
I use a mod called theme mixer 2 that allows me to change textures in game. It's a really neat mod. Definitely worth checking out
how does bro make perfect roads??😭
my road looks like a 10-year dementia patient drawing
It took me a while to get good at it

just finished binge watching this whole series lol. Im guessing the next step is PC mods? Sorry console players!
Name game pliss
It's called cities skylines
The interchange looks terrible above ground make it tunnel as it was it looks way better
Yeah, I kind of wish we had left it as well. I could get it to look that great in it's current location.
You really need to stop saying "go ahead". Must be hundreds of times in this video.
don't forget "you know what" thousand times 🤣🤣
I was going to make a remark about how comments like these are uncalled for. But I decided that if you want to make them, “you know what, go ahead” 😉
