Bart is testing the Trek Checkpoint ALR-4 and pushing this budget level Gravel bike in multiple conditions and getting a really good opinion of this bike
I enjoyed the video. You sound like an average guy who’s very honest. The dealer perspective is valuable since all the major manufacturers do the same job competing against each other. The bike is perfect for anyone who doesn’t need the latest and greatest. I’m riding a cyclocross bike by a big company that is many years old. With good tires you get decent yet fun bicycle. Besides you learn basic mechanical skills replacing things that wear out.
I have same bike, in the same colour and size and absolutely love it. My son got one and after trying it I absolutely fell in love with it. For the price it is damn fine - I do 120km rides and I am not hurting at all (I find even the seat is quite good). As for the colour (which I really like) - I have a joke with the people at my local bike store: everyone loves it, nobody buys it. I am curious if it is popular in your end.
I'm looking into buying this bike right now. Looking for one used if I can find one. I currently ride mountain bikes, got a couple roscoe's looking to break into road/gravel. Thank you for this video.
Hola yo tendré la mía para principios de año...me gustaría saber qué modelo de ruedas chinas tienes en esa bici? gracias un saludo desde Barcelona España
What about taking this bike on single track? Have a 15 year old Tricross with canti brakes that i take off gravel onto single track , figure this bike should do well as I am not real aggressive on trail
Hey, anyone know anything about Aoelos carbon 35’s? Trek offered me a rear free and the front for 3-. Information on line sucks, so I’m assuming they maybe suck.
Good stuff….was unsure about the Checkpoint but you convinced!
I'm a bike mechanic, and have always enjoyed the underdog bikes more than the top shelf stuff for my own use.

I watched the whole video. Thanks for your input.
That green is beaut! Love it. 40mm tires on a race-geo bike that can do gravel is where it's at!
I've had one for a couple years and I love it
I also have a ALR4 and absolutely love it 😁
I got the same bike on the silver color and I love it! Scheels gave me a $500 discount on it

Great video. Is the ALR5 a worthy upgrade?
Biggest upgrade would be the hydraulic brakes, 12 speed vs 11 speed. $700 price premium for about $200 worth of upgrades
