Great video. Glad you mentioned the Parking Brake Maintenance Mode. I forgot when I started my project and it was a pain.
Thanks a lot for the comment!
Hey Sal, I have always like watching your Videos.
Thank you so much for the comment !
So glad you got to change the brakes, hubby! You the best. 🥰
Thanks wifey!
On the rears it is better to leave the brake carrier attached and instead undo the caliper slider bolts like you did on the front. Also a brake caliper piston expansion tool is advisable for most people who are replacing worn pads with new and have to push the pistons back as far as they will go. Really helps reassembly. Good video !
I had read that unless you use a scan tool for brake bleeding to energize the ABS system, you will bleed everything except the old fluid still in the ABS unit. I’m soon to do my car so I’ll find out.😊
Thanks for sharing! Keep us updated. 🙏
Video is great man. Well done!!
Question.. When you compressed the piston on the rears, did the piston need to be twisted or could a regular C-clamp work?
Thanks! I only needed a regular C-Clamp. Good luck 👍
Hello my friend as always a great video. Question how are the brake pads that you have installed? Lots of dust on the rim? Greetings from Germany
Thank you! The new brake pads still squeaked, so I installed ceramic brake pads called EBC red stuff and no more noise or dust!
I watched the video and focusing on the removal of the caliper pin (around 3 minutes into the video) and it appears that you are removing the pins turning them clockwise which looks opposite. I would think to loosen them it would be counter clockwise. Is that because we are seeing a mirror image? Pease clarify.
Hi! Yes it is a mirror image from my selfie cam, sorry about that.
In the mode for the rears does it allow you to push the cylinder back even though its got an electronic motor on it
Great question. It does allow you to compress it when in park brake maintenance mode.
Do you leave the ignition on after it is in maint mode or will it stay in maint mode with ignition off and until you shut maint back off. I assume the latter since you do have to turn it off manually but every-time i assume,,,,,,,
Ignition can turn off once in maintenance mode.
Hey Sal, One more question I have. I have a 2016 F type Jaguar. And I notice you're using a motive brake leader, which model did you use? Thanks, Bishop.

Thanks Sal ,
Can I up grade the base caliper/rotors to R calipers and rotors
I think you could. But sourcing them will be tricky.
Try Porterfield brake pads. No squealing.
I used EBC red stuff which is ceramic brake pads. No more squealing and no brake dust too.
To stop brake squeal you must grease the rear of the pads on the contact area’s to the calliper and the piston Guaranteed
No squeal even with old pads
Got it!
How can you "guarantee" no squeal when the squeal is often the result of glaze on the pads? Esp on these Jags.
Hi Sal! We have to bleed the oil for the brake pads replacement? I can not change the pads with the oil cap on? Tx 🤙🤙
Leave brake fluid cap open to let off some pressure when you push the pistons open.
@@Sals_Garage Copy 🙂
Are your front and rear rotors the same size?
Rear rotors are slightly smaller. Performance brake package.
Great video! Idk anything about changing brakes. Or how many come in a box. I will buy and bring into shop. Do you have to buy 1 brake pad for each wheel or? Also with the S model what brand did you buy?
EBC Red Stuff ceramic brake pads ebay.us/ZAfSVf
They come in two boxes, one for fronts and one for rears.
Sweet. Where can I buy the rear pads? Also can the ceremic be installed on the stock rotors and all?
@@themicrobladingguyronniema2662 Search for ebc red stuff ceramic brake pads for v8 R model if you have performance brakes or v6 model if you have non performance brakes. The brakes are bigger in the back with the performance brake package. Ceramic pads can be installed on stock rotors or any type of rotor.
Thank you for your help! I have the v6s model. Would this be considered performance v8R rear brakes you are speaking of or is the v6S model non performance brakes?
Depends. You can have a V6S without performance brake calipers or with them (same as V8 R)
I noticed you used anti squeal on the pads it’s NO GOOD it drys and still allows vibration to create noise this is simply music from a speaker
grease only in the same spots will fix your problems
Good tips thank you 👍
Hello, thanks for your video, i have a jaguar f type p380 with 380mm front rotors and black calipers... Can you show me the code of disc and pads? (rear and front) thank you very much 🙏
Hi! Sorry I don’t have that information, try Jaguar dealership parts department. Good luck 👍
Ok no problem, Do you know the minimum thickness of the original disc, beyond which it must be changed?
@@aldodainese2371 no info on that either. I change them once I feel a lip. I bought r1 concepts rotors drilled and slotted.
I have the same issue with R1 brake squealing even after 2 months using it
The new Stop-Tech brake pads just started squeaking. Not as bad as R1 concepts pads. I am guessing the R1 rotors are causing it. I will be switching to ceramic pads to see if the noise will go away.
@@Sals_Garage seems like the r1 rotor😏.. keep us updated on how the ceramic pad does. Love your content on DIY stuff and tunes. I drive RRS v6 petrol i can use some of the content as well
@@yaminasli Thank you! I am glad you are watching. I will definitely update you on how the ceramic pads do. I hope it works because I don't want to buy new rotors.
@@Sals_Garage have u replace the brake pad with the ceramic ?
@@yaminasli Yes, I used EBC red stuff. No more squealing!
U did not have to pull the old break fluid out first Instead top off the reservoir and then Pressure rise to system bleeding the air line now u know 👍
Thanks for the tip 👍
Hmm.. my 2015 base is completely different..
The base has smaller front and rear rotors with black calipers. The V6 S has bigger front rotors (also black calipers). The performance brake package adds bigger front/rear rotors (red calipers). The V8 model has the same as performance package. The SVR has yellow calipers and carbon ceramic brakes.
My V6 S model has the performance brake package with bigger front/rear rotors and red calipers.
Its essentially the same procedure, the base models have a single piston caliper and smaller rotors. the big downside i noticed is the brake line runs very close to the top 9mm hex pin so getting it out is tricky, the 3/8 attachment wouldn't clear the hose. I ended up removing the whole bracket via the 15mm bolts rather than take off the brake hose. If you buy a 9mm, make sure to get a very thin long body one so it will clear the brake hose.
Looks boy racer , but if that’s what you like
Thanks 🙏
what a life saver ty bro🫡🫡
Glad it helped! Thanks for the comment 🙏
