This song was the first not-default track I found in Below Zero and, no joke, was responsible for my deciding to give the game another shot when I thought it could not possibly live up to the original Subnautica. Die Peacefully has been on constant repeat in my base for a while now, giving me a reason to keep playing the game when otherwise I would be on hiatus waiting for new content. While I love the other new songs you can find in-game, this was my first favourite, and I just wanted to find the original creator and let you know how much this song accomplished in bolstering my enjoyment of Below Zero. Excellent work, and thank you!
This is why I make music. As an artist, there are no better words I could read than these. Thank you! Glad to be a small, but positive part of your life.
@@firstsunmusic This is the first song I start when I enter Subnautica BZ, or when I step through the door to any of my other bases (Jukebox is the third thing to build, after solar panel and bed). The song just gives chills, especially the echo sounds around 1:15. Feels like being underwater. And the beats and melody are excellent.
I do have to say that there are some other marvelous songs as well, like Divide. In general Both subnautica and S:BZ soundtracks and musics have been way better than "average" games :).
@@firstsunmusic that's so adorable! thank you for your hard work

It's crazy to think Al-an was kinda agressive back in the old story
It was kinda better though
How easy it is to manipulate humans with lies. Humanity is incapable of freeing itself from the parasites who use lies.

As did I. I was thinking "they wouldn't spoil a potential reveal of him being a bad guy, would they"?
me too hahah, i was expecting al-an would betray robin or something like that
@@FABSDAZZ that’s what I though too. I finished the game yesterday and keeping this song in my head, I was certain he would betray me because of how much he wanted the body to be built. Thought as soon as he had the body he would kill me or something lol

I first played this track while Al-An called me so I was kind of freaked out at first. Now it's on repeat throughout my base all the time.
Well damn, exploring the Sub Zero depths of the ocean has never been so hype.
Put this song on, turn on your Perimeter Defense System in the Seatruck and the fear of the deep blackness of the sea doesn't exist anymore.
Someone needs to make an animation of Robin and Al-An bopping to this sick beat. Picturing Al-An with cool sunglasses in my head is making me laugh! 🤣🤣🤣

My favorite of all the jukebox soundtrack. Al-An is my favorite character of the game and pretty much the sole reason I play it.
Anyone knows where the voicelines come from? Is it canon? First game? I won't lie that I listened to the song before finishing watching the gameplay and I honestly thought Alan would betray us
The voice lines came from an earlier version of Below Zero during early access, where the story was different than it is now on the fully released version.
@@MechaShadow1666 I'm glad I found this comment. I was a little angry that this came up on spotify and was spoiling the shit out of me since I'm in the middle of experiencing below zero - seemed to have very heavy implications that would ruin a moment further down the line. If this isn't the case anymore, I guess I'm a little less mad? But now I definitely know more than I should at this point, either way. Not a fan of this song for that.
@@JeY_k Yeah, this is from a plotline from early beta, should be like, 1.5 years ago now? So don't worry....

I love using the seatruck afterburner boost to this beat while driving through the purple vents and twisted bridges
This track rocks every base in every biom!! Thank you for this great memory of AL-AN!!!
This kind of felt like a troll on the part of the devs. I legit thought that this jukebox disc had spoiled the game. I guess I should have known better than that, but I tell you, I was in a bad mood for a while after hearing this disc and I didn't play it once after that. Took me a while to realise that it would be so stupid for the game to spoil itself like that and that surely the devs wouldn't be so foolish, but I wasn't fully convinced for a long time.
Robin: Woah this song kicks ass!
Alan, viewing an alternative timeline: yeah
Yeah, Al-An 1.0 was kind of jerk huh? I like 2.0 better. Instead of a tsundere/wildcard/creep, he's a disgraced scientist that spent the last few centuries as formless data with only his sins for company. His sorrow, his more passive and apologetic manner, the way his voice cracks when he confesses how his hubris devastated 4546B. The very real possibility that even if the architects still live, he will be rejected. This makes a much more rounded and engaging character.
Shadow leviathan in my game just flew through the rocks when he heard that blasting out of my seatruck. Dude just wasn't expecting this. *Neither was I*
When I played the game it took a while for me to find the songs. (To explain with no spoilers, a little before the point of no return)
I let to jukebox play on it's own and had not heard this song before. [I was trying to keep away from any below zero media in case of spoilers]
When this song started I began freaking out because I thought I had somehow triggered a bad ending. 😅
Song is still great though.
In sb0 the "dont move, DONT MOVE" scared me to death, I thought something was in .y bace and going to kill me, it was even more convincing because my headphones fell out so I missed some of it and I thought I missed a story event lol
When I first played this I thought it was game and not the jukebox so I just freaked out and started swimming into nothing
A game brought me here, but i stayed for the music.
Good work man.
Went through this game blind and just finished it a few minutes ago. I heard Al-an speak in the jukebox song and refused to listen to any more of it because I thought it was a spoiler.
I totally thought he was gonna kill Robin at the end, when he picked her up and say, "Die Peacefully"
"Die Peacefully
You have no concept for what has just occurred
I will destroy you
Do not move
DO NOT MOVE

Putting this on in the sleeper module jukebox at the sea truck and going outside its like im about to enter a night club, so good
This song made me think the Architect would turn against Robin as soon as he was reassembled
When i first played this song i thought Al-An was talking to me lol

What does Alan say after he says “don’t move” for the last time? It sounds like “errors” but I’m not too sure. Please don’t give spoilers, I haven’t finished the game yet.
(Edit): I finished the game so spoilers are okay now :)

I am! Thanks for the kind words. It means a lot! You're the reason I make this stuff!
what I love is that subnautica uses very nice techniques with 3D sound to make the songs sound amazing with headphones!

I will always picture this as just a normal edm song and Robin just has to deal with Al-An yellingin her head.
The thing with below zero is it doesn't push the fact that your completely alone on an alien planet, which is a big change in tone from the original subnautica.

Hey, can I ask how you got your song into the game? Did the devs hold a contest or something? Or did you just email them? Thanks
Well you see when one person loves another person they .... oh.. hmm.. Let's try again. Initially I had applied for the sound designer and composer position at UWE for Subnautica's Below Zero expansion. As part of my application I sent "Below Zero" and "Frozen In Time" as attachments. After I found I didn't get the job, I released all the music for free and continued working on Subnautica music simply because I enjoyed it. Nearly a year later I was contacted by UWE and asked if it would be okay to put my music in the game. I said yes and we lived happily ever after.
@@firstsunmusic I see. Thanks for explaining it to me and congratulations! I'm a big fan of Subnautica, so I'm looking forward to hearing your music ingame. :)

This is basically abandon ship from bellow zero
I just started playing Below Zero over the weekend. Originally I didn't want to make a juke box because I figured it would be more or less useless and a waste of resources. Then I built the sleeper module for the sea truck which has a juke box in it. This came on during a conversation with AL-AN and I thought the game was messing up and he was actually telling me he was going to kill me and not to move so I legit stopped for a few seconds until the beat dropped. I have since built a juke box, several speakers so I can never not hear it in my base, and have this song on repeat. Beautiful work, thank you.
Easily the most fitting of the Jukebox songs inside the game^^
Played it on repeat in my base for most of the time :D

I was watching Markiplier play the early access and noticed where you got the voice from (up until then I thought it was an encounter that ended quite poorly judging by the crash site you find the disk in.).
