Actually, have an '01 Audi A8L Quattro. It's bucked the trend by being a really good car- my aunt & uncle bought it, I inherited it is the kicker. The car has always been cared for, still went through it and upgraded the struts, springs, brakes, exhaust, all the consumable parts replaced, put Hypergram wheels on it. Drove it across the US twice, cruising quick with no hiccups. Weirdly, gets a decent amount of attention because it's so unusual to see one

It’s a great car and it’s in the league of super cars like Mercedes AMG and BMW M and it was over $100k brand new. Most of these in the used market are absolutely junk if it is not One owner car and not maintained at dealership, this car had a factory recall to replace the engine which I guess was never done because whoever owned it as 2nd, 3rd or 4th owner went to mom and pop cheap mechanics for service that ruined this car. Just the engine on this car is $10k and this car market value is only $5k even when everything is working fine. This car is a mechanically total loss because to correctly fix all the issues through factory reset standards will cost approximately $20k or more because it was more than $100k plus brand new

Yeah, it was entertaining, but I have to admit, I was cringing through the whole thing. Now, it's your job to find someone who's willing to take it off your hands and hope you don’t wind up paying somebody to haul it off your lot. Anyone can pull codes from a vehicle, but understanding what the code means and what the data is telling you is crucial for effective diagnostics. Throwing parts at the problem is not the best answer and can be very costly. Especially when your lead mechanic tells you he thinks he fixed it - that's not a good sign.

For the Range Rover, you really need to watch Sam Crac videos. They all need timing chain guides and tensioners. They all need the air bags to be replaced with coil overs. Yours needs 2 front seats. Unfortunately, the timing stuff is very labor intensive and parts are expensive. You have an easy $10k to fix that thing. The better 2 options are to sell it for parts or put it back into the auction and just get rid of it. I part out cars now and then (have a Subaru Crosstrek at the moment) but I'm retired so time is a big "who cares?" for me. But your time is worth money and you could easily make more doing other things. Yah, all your garbage cars need to go onto the trailer every week to the auction with no reserve and just get rid of them. This is a good time with all the car dealers about to go out of business but setting reserve at the auction. Bidding dealers have plenty of money for your cars because of this.

Removed the batteries junked it. Then took them put them in a S 10 w electric motor. Use the truck as a part hauler. Range is no biggy they stay in town bht they took a s 10 w bad notor trans and bad CV Volt w frame issues made a 1200 dollar electric pickup fun useful toy. Over time they plan on adding other salvaged parts light bars etc be fun seeing what Flying wheels could do. A econo van ir some huge cargo vehicle be fun. The shop mentioned they will do a van and flat bed once they find more Vits as they easier to work with in battery extraction.

@shawnb1774 Do you realize the resources those large channels have to build cars? Lol The average person can never do what they do and turn a profit.

Based on my experience. I have purchased a used , clean looking BMW because new was ought of my price range. IMO. Be sure to buy the maximum available factory warranty or be prepared to pay over $1000 if the water pump needs replacement.

The Range Rover has a hood latch sensor, behind the RH latch. If the hood is open, the parking brake will likely not turn off.

Honestly I get why Craig buys these cars. My father and I have been car dealers for 8 years now. We sell primarily in NY, and we buy completely out of state.. like Virginia and Manheim PA.. The cars that used to bring us a great fortune are now, astronomically expensive even for a wholesale perspective. Most of NY depends on their checks to hit the bank, and pay for rent alone. We have a lot of cars from $3,000-9,000. If you cross the 10k threshold the cars sit, and you dont get to do anything with it besides selling it wholesale 6 months later. Getting a POS car brings some kind of excitement, some times it pays off other times you end up with a dinky POS that you dont know how to get rid of. And that comes with this business, as a consistent watcher i enjoy the walk around the auction, but as a dealer i also understand that some cars are bought without a purpose. Especially if you decide to do some kind of side project.

Same same with the Land rovers , look nice but they come with many issues . Hey for 2k if it pays off all good if not it’s good content and the views will pay for it .
