Rediscovering Fala'Cha'a'

In 2023, the Chickasaw Nation Heritage Preservation Division secured a Tribal Heritage Grant from the National Park Service to deepen understanding of Chickasaw culture and values. This grant facilitated a unique opportunity for Chickasaw elders to visit our traditional homeland and engage with the Chickasaw Explorers.
Students conducted an archaeological survey, exploring their heritage while receiving invaluable memories and insight from Chickasaw elders. This intergenerational exchange not only enriched the experience of participants but also strengthened cultural bonds within our community.
“Rediscovering Fala'Cha'a” illuminates our past through the eyes of the present, emphasizing our stories as the foundation of our history. This film celebrates the preservation and revitalization of our heritage through the wisdom of our elders and the curiosity of younger generations.
