i really like how serious huion is trying to take a share in the graphics tablet market..wacom has held this market for so long that their prices have not been contended for years..so..here is hoping for huion IMO

As soon as the order is in i'll delete my history because I'm sure my Mrs will have something to say on here, i'll come back at a later date and let you know how I got on with it, that is if my my dear wife hasn't tried to help me by implanting it in my head (she does try and hold on to the purse strings, bless her) ! On a serious note I'm much impressed with your reviews. Many of the reviews on you tube seem to be a vanity exercise for the reviewer. Teoh keep up the good work and thanks for the help.
Well ordering this was akin to a Mission Impossible... I did not know how well my Mrs hearing was, I swear she heard me pulling out my credit card to pay for this! I've spent the day with the graphics pad and i'm enjoying it very much. A couple of things worth a mention. A driver disc doesn't come with the unit but is on the usb wireless receiver which to my mind is sensible, as there is an updated driver on the Huion website. There are problems in running Gimp (2.8.20) on the windows platform, you are advised by the programmers of Gimp to downgrade to their previous version, I did this (ver 2.8.0) and it works a treat. I know as a beginner in graphics arts I have a lot to learn so I'll keep you up dated!
Paul C please do not use gimp it’s completely horrible... try kerta it’s called something like that. It’s the closest thing to a pro artist software would highly recommend

I do a ton of pixel art for games, as well as texturing work, and I think this tablet is the answer I've been looking for! You have convinced me to buy it! I have the same jitter problem with my huion 1060 pro+ on Photoshop CS6. Even with the latest driver it sometime happen. But problem solved when i set drawing mode to 'Advanced' in use graphics processor's advanced settings... Maybe could work the same way with your Giano. My Huion tablet works fine in latest Photoshop CC 2015. By the way thank's for the the great review ^^
This entire time I've been using a Logitech G13 Keypad for shortcuts. I use it for both gaming and digital artwork. The G13 has the ability to set profiles so if you jump around programs you can just set the profile you want on the fly and pretty easy.
+Rain 008 That's great. I always prefer using keyboards instead of those shortcut keys on tablets. Best thing as you have said is you can jump around programs with different profiles.
I find that top left part so hideous in form of design. Why not just the 4 icons, what is the use for those colored bars?! It makes it look more cheap!

+Alice N It performs very well with Photoshop Mac. There is slight jitter but you have to specifically look for it to see it. For beginners I think it is good enough. Really appreciate reviews like this. I probably have a stupid question, but can you digitize an existing sketch or drawing by placing it on top of the active area? I know wacom makes a model specifically for this, but I honestly can't find any info indicating if this is a feature absolutely unique to the wacom paper edition, or, if the wacom model is just enhanced to support that task better... ?
Do you have a link for the software to smooth out the jittery lines? I have never heard of that before...although I'm not having a problem with my lines being jittery at all just for future reference. Thank you. Damn, that looks like an excellent tablet for the money. My Intuos 3 pen stopped working and now I'm really considering one of these. Shame about no tilt or rotation sensitivity, though.

have purchased the Huion WH1409 (8192) and i can't manage illustrator Pen Pressure . It's grayed out. I have macOS Catalina V. 10.15.7. Illustrator CC 2022 v. 26.0.2 The Huion Drivers ( Driver_14.6.0.210128 ) is correctly installed as seen on Accessibility and input monitoring (Security & Privacy). Unfortunately Illustrator doesn't show on " Automation" ( in Security & Privacy ) , so i can't add illustrator to control huion. I have tried everything i could read. any help ? Thx

For some reasons, strokes in Photoshop don't taper as smoothly on Huion tablets vs Wacom ones. If you want to use Huion and still use Photoshop, then you can get a Lazy Nezumi Pro plugin which will smoothen the strokes.
hi is it true that working on larger active area can be tiring ? I am a wedding photographer and using imac 27" for photoshop which one is better wacom intuos pro medium or huion 1409..price is not matter..but quality
I feel a medium size is better. The 1409 is HUGE!! It may be tiring working on it for long but it is not a significant issue, and it is definitely more comfortable than holding a mouse for long.
well ive been using this for couple of months now, the only problem is that the wireless aspect isnt that good, but it could be that the tablet is facing my screen not the computer, but everything else is really good.

+shirin sh For the same price, you can get a larger tablet with the Huion. Huion doesn't work as well with Photoshop so if you use Photoshop a lot, get the Wacom. That's the main difference in my opinion.

Cool. I really like the wireless aspect of it, no wires while you use it. Not a big fan of the pen battery though, wish it was more like the Wacoms but for that price and size, seems like a good solution. The Huion K580 and some really old ones is the most bought model, and unfortunately being known for fall apart easily. And that makes Huion looks like a bad Company. But it's not meant that Huion 100% bad. My friend have The Huion Inspiroy H1060P and now it last 1,5 year. It's made by thick plastic body that were stronger than nowadays everything-is-thin plastic body. Even he is still in his first nib due to the smoother textured tablet surface.( Of course it's not too smooth like a glass surface, it has some texture too. But the texture is not as rough as Wacom that could eat nibs like breakfast and make you need to buy more expensive Nib every 2-3 month) Yes, it would work on krita. If you're still unsure, you can always contact Huion Costumer service anyway. But remember, not all Huion tablet is good. They have been inconsistent with their products quality. Some of good ones like H1060P works great, while some other like H640P have non linear pressure problem (even now it's already fixed by the new Driver update). Even most of them were extremely minor issue that 98% of the user wont realize anyway.

+Adam Nikoalevich I don't have those software except for Maya. For Maya, I prefer mouse. I find it more intuitive to use the stylus for drawing rather than with 3d software

Hey I'm planning to buy a graphic tablet, my question is - Huion Q11K or Huion Giano WH1409. Q11k has more levels of pressure sensitivity (8192) than Giano (2048) but Giano is bigger. Which one should I get?
You can but this is a huge tablet so you will need a large area to place the tablet and your computer/laptop. It needs to connect wirelessly to a computer
How does the tablet hold up? I've had 2 tablets in around 4 years, and both of them broke... even though I did my best to take care of them. Does it still work as good as new now, after 9 months?

Hi , I just got my tablet as well, when I work in photoshop I noticed that I cannot rotate my artboard, nor am I able to zoom in or out using my fingers as I could with my Bamboo. Is this normal for the Huion or can it be set to do so?

WH1409 is huge and wireless. 1060PLUS is a more comfortable size to work with but wired. If you don't mine wired, I suggest the 1060PLUS because of the size.
Hello, can I ask how to change the settings? I just want to know how to stop my pen detecting color and automatically change into it. Like, I am using black color for pen and when I start drawing. My pen will detect white from the background and it will change into white. Please help. >_
Not sure why that's happening. Sounds like the eyedropper was activated before drawing. Could have pressed the Alt key while in brush mode. Try drawing with other software and see if you have the same problem. Try the free Medibang Paint or Krita.

Dear Teoh, I would like to do paintings like the one you see on my name. I have no computer set up so far for any digital work. I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop from several years ago and an Ipad mini. I am used to painting on cold press watercolor paper and I am not sure how you draw on a black surface where you don't see what you draw (even though you see it on the monitor). What would you recommend as far as getting a full set up for digital artwork? I want to be able to draw cartoons, logos, and make watercolor paintings. Should I buy an IMac and Huion? Few questions. How much is your budget? With the iMac, you will need to buy an extra tablet. It can be the smaller Huion DWH69 or Wacom Intuos. If your Dell XPS is still fast enough, you don't have to buy iMac, you just have to get a tablet so that you can draw on. Drawing on a tablet without screen will take a while to adjust but it should be a quick adjustment.
I have the Huion from the video above and I can say it's better than the tablets from Wacom Intuos series both in performance and price. (I have used both tablets before)

+Rich Sensale I don't use GIMP or Corel Painter so I don't know if the problem is there too. But some apps have really smooth lines, e.g. Medibang Paint Pro, so this issue might be app related.

Hi, it works fairly well, its definitely big, so it takes some getting the hang of it, if it was a little smaller it would be spot, but excellent value for money.......... works really well with lightroom
+Shinoj padmanabhan Lazy Nezumi Pro? You just install it and it will launch each time Photoshop launches. The default settings is good. There are other settings for advanced users. Pretty straightforward software. You can download a trial version to try.
Hi. So I bought this tablet but I have been having issues with the pressure sensitivity. It doesn't work in anything. Not even the pen pressure test will work, in fact, the test is entirely unresponsive. The hotkeys don't seem to work either. In the driver program it says "device is disconnect" regardless of if the cable or wireless USB drive is in. I can still draw in kritta or paint, but without sensitivity. I have tried restarting the system, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver several times with the device unplugged, I checked to make sure that flicks and pen and touch settings are optimal, I restarted the service, and checked and unchecked the "support tablet of" box. I'm running windows 10. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I would really hate to send this thing back. It would be perfect if the hot keys and sensitivity would only work.
Looks like the driver wasn't able to detect the tablet. Have you use other tablets before on your computer. If so uninstall all the drivers then install the Huion one. Maybe read through the manual on the proper sequence of installing the driver. Sometimes they may require you to connect the tablet first before installing the driver. All else fail, contact Huion support and see what they say.
I know Wacom tablets work well under Linux. I have the Wacom intros CTH 480. But i am looking to upgrade because the tablet is wearing out. And it is a bit small for my drawing strokes.

I don't think you can. The easier way is just to get a scanner, scan it in and draw there.

Mr. Teoh, is there anyway to make the cursor faster?, I am found it a bit slow for my taste or may be I just get used to it, thanks for the video.
The cursor is only as fast as your hand can go. I found it to be quite instantaneous. It's the same speed as Wacom.

Unfortunately Illustrator doesn't show on " Automation" ( in Security & Privacy ) , so i can't add illustrator to control huion.

They will all function the same for zBrush. Intuos Pro might be overkill though. You might want to go for the Huion since it's cheaper.

You can consider Huion New 1060 Plus (recommended) or Wacom Intuos Art (medium size). The Giano tablet that you see in this video is too HUGE.

For some reasons, strokes in Photoshop don't taper as smoothly on Huion tablets vs Wacom ones. If you want to use Huion and still use Photoshop, then you can get a Lazy Nezumi Pro plugin which will smoothen the strokes.

I feel a medium size is better. The 1409 is HUGE!! It may be tiring working on it for long but it is not a significant issue, and it is definitely more comfortable than holding a mouse for long.
well ive been using this for couple of months now, the only problem is that the wireless aspect isnt that good, but it could be that the tablet is facing my screen not the computer, but everything else is really good.

+shirin sh For the same price, you can get a larger tablet with the Huion. Huion doesn't work as well with Photoshop so if you use Photoshop a lot, get the Wacom. That's the main difference in my opinion.

Cool. I really like the wireless aspect of it, no wires while you use it. Not a big fan of the pen battery though, wish it was more like the Wacoms but for that price and size, seems like a good solution. The Huion K580 and some really old ones is the most bought model, and unfortunately being known for fall apart easily. And that makes Huion looks like a bad Company.
But it's not meant that Huion 100% bad. My friend have The Huion Inspiroy H1060P and now it last 1,5 year. It's made by thick plastic body that were stronger than nowadays everything-is-thin plastic body.
Even he is still in his first nib due to the smoother textured tablet surface.( Of course it's not too smooth like a glass surface, it has some texture too.
But the texture is not as rough as Wacom that could eat nibs like breakfast and make you need to buy more expensive Nib every 2-3 month)
Yes, it would work on krita. If you're still unsure, you can always contact Huion Costumer service anyway.
But remember, not all Huion tablet is good. They have been inconsistent with their products quality. Some of good ones like H1060P works great, while some other like H640P have non linear pressure problem (even now it's already fixed by the new Driver update). Even most of them were extremely minor issue that 98% of the user wont realize anyway.

You can but this is a huge tablet so you will need a large area to place the tablet and your computer/laptop. It needs to connect wirelessly to a computer
How does the tablet hold up? I've had 2 tablets in around 4 years, and both of them broke... even though I did my best to take care of them. Does it still work as good as new now, after 9 months?

You should contact Huion if you lose your receiver. Each receiver has their own signal.
I just got this yesterday and its my first ever tablet, and just now i have realised that when I touch the upper and lower side together on the left side, it makes a clicking noise, but i'm not sure where its from since i took great care of it ever since i opened it. Hi , I just got my tablet as well, when I work in photoshop I noticed that I cannot rotate my artboard, nor am I able to zoom in or out using my fingers as I could with my Bamboo. Is this normal for the Huion or can it be set to do so?

WH1409 is huge and wireless. 1060PLUS is a more comfortable size to work with but wired. If you don't mine wired, I suggest the 1060PLUS because of the size.

Hello, can I ask how to change the settings? I just want to know how to stop my pen detecting color and automatically change into it. Like, I am using black color for pen and when I start drawing. My pen will detect white from the background and it will change into white. Please help. >_
Not sure why that's happening. Sounds like the eyedropper was activated before drawing. Could have pressed the Alt key while in brush mode. Try drawing with other software and see if you have the same problem. Try the free Medibang Paint or Krita.

Dear Teoh, I would like to do paintings like the one you see on my name. I have no computer set up so far for any digital work. I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop from several years ago and an Ipad mini. I am used to painting on cold press watercolor paper and I am not sure how you draw on a black surface where you don't see what you draw (even though you see it on the monitor). What would you recommend as far as getting a full set up for digital artwork? I want to be able to draw cartoons, logos, and make watercolor paintings. Should I buy an IMac and Huion? Few questions. How much is your budget?
With the iMac, you will need to buy an extra tablet. It can be the smaller Huion DWH69 or Wacom Intuos.
If your Dell XPS is still fast enough, you don't have to buy iMac, you just have to get a tablet so that you can draw on.
Drawing on a tablet without screen will take a while to adjust but it should be a quick adjustment.

Hi. So I bought this tablet but I have been having issues with the pressure sensitivity. It doesn't work in anything. Not even the pen pressure test will work, in fact, the test is entirely unresponsive. The hotkeys don't seem to work either. In the driver program it says "device is disconnect" regardless of if the cable or wireless USB drive is in.
I can still draw in kritta or paint, but without sensitivity. I have tried restarting the system, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver several times with the device unplugged, I checked to make sure that flicks and pen and touch settings are optimal, I restarted the service, and checked and unchecked the "support tablet of" box. I'm running windows 10.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. I would really hate to send this thing back. It would be perfect if the hot keys and sensitivity would only work.

Looks like the driver wasn't able to detect the tablet. Have you use other tablets before on your computer. If so uninstall all the drivers then install the Huion one.
Maybe read through the manual on the proper sequence of installing the driver. Sometimes they may require you to connect the tablet first before installing the driver.
All else fail, contact Huion support and see what they say.
Would it be possible for you to test this tablet on an arch Linux based distro more specifically Antergos.
For Linux, I suggest you research tablets that are sure to work. Most tablets drawing features are quite similar.
I know Wacom tablets work well under Linux. I have the Wacom intros CTH 480. But i am looking to upgrade because the tablet is wearing out. And it is a bit small for my drawing strokes.
