  • The main drain of the Monastery of Paisley was a stone lined tunnel 2m high and 1m wide. A stretch of 90m was discovered in 1990.

    My Great Grandparents 7 generations back were married in the Abbey, I was born near the Abbey and the last generation of my family to be born in Scotland. I always visit when I go back

    I do love the fact that work is still being carried out on the Abbey drain. There is so much that we still don't know about the monastery of Paisley.

      The incessant background music made me want to scream. Whilst it might have been thought necessary at the time, it tends to spoil the interesting messages of the speaker. I wonder how they got the orchestra into that narrow tunnel ?
