The XC90 IMO is the best looking SUV in its segment, this is a great update inside and out. Gorgeous. A shade roof must be an option otherwise will be a fryer on wheels.
Wow! It’s really really really nice! I love the amazing technology! Very nice!!!!!!!👍!!!! I love the metal speaker grills and speakers in the headrest!!!
The sunroof does not have a sunscreen as standard. Volvo offers one for $245. It snaps into place and does not retract, nor is it powered. You have to remove in manually. Seriously, WTF is Volvo thinking?
@@Sottti The Ioniq 5 has a retractable shade that retracts from the front and back so it’s fast and cool. I’m pretty sure that’s not the only one, but can’t name others off the top of my head. Some EVs have what VW calls smart glass which means it can be changed to opaque with a push of a button.
@@Molishious Yeah, there are some exceptions for sure, but every EV that I've been on and that I like doesn't have any. I can't think or find any 7-seater with shades.
A fixed glass roof is the dumbest trend I’ve seen on new vehicles. The shade on the pano roof in my truck has been closed since May bc it’s over 100 every day.
Agree, this trend is absolutely the worst, being in the sun the whole drive is a nightmare especially in hot days, volvo messed up not making it open/close and not having an automatic shade, im a current xc90 owner who will say good bye when its time for a new car.
Best review so far with a lot of info, but I'd like more info on the 3rd row spacing (with all 2nd row positions). Most of people buying this car is because of the 3rd row and that's very important for us.
really wondering how these lights will move during the day when I want to flash my high beams at someone on the road, looks like it pretty slow to open so it will have a delay?
In my opinion, after the sale to China the brand name went down fast...yes the car is still manufactured in Sweden but they have so many issues. My 2015 xc70 still going strong after 240k miles and I have abused the heck out of it. While the xc 60 2022 has been in the shop over 15 times.
I'm not sure the Nordico pleather really rings the luxury car bell though. The wool sounds more interesting. The beige on beige color scheme here isn't doing the bland design any favors. Looks like a Volvo though, they got that right.
I'm so torn on this or bmw ix, both of which carry same size of battery pack. Only thing different is the delivery time. Don't know if I can wait that long sigh.
$94k for this? Hard pass. Expecting a 35% off MSRP by the fiscal year end. Why the manufacturers think that they can mark up at least $40k just because it is an EV? German brands already failed badly on those high end EVs. Let alone this 2nd tier non luxury premium brands.
94k for a top spec car isn’t too bad… By removing the 22” wheels, 100hp, soft closing doors and puddle lights you end up at about 80k. When the base model arrives in the future it will be available with RWD, 5 seats and a price of about 65k… You can’t judge a car at its top price because it will always be too expensive
Have always been a huge XC lover. Styling is great especially with the interior. Still wish there was a gas option (that’s coming from an EV owner). Also not sure how I feel about not having a physical start button or physical key. The key is always an exciting part for me. I’m even more interested to see how Volvo is going to change their lineup to all EV when other manufacturers are taking a step back and trying to focus more on hybrids. Volvos have always had good resale value however EVs do not. Curious to see how that plays out.
I currently have the cx40 recharge and love it” and i was waiting on this to come out so that i could trade what i have now for this. But for 94K it’s a definite no for me! I can’t believe these ev car prices today! Insane

Have the xc40 electric. Love it. Have a small family. If it grows this or ev9 will be my next pick. Probably the ex90 due to volvos amazing safety features. Plus my xc40 feels really luxury.
Beautiful car with some impressive specs. Unfortunately they copied the asinine 3 button control on the window switch from VW and the shadeless glass roof from Tesla. I’m a soft hearted fellow, but I think someone needs to be fired over those decisions. The air suspension is nice, but the Rivian has it too and if what I really needed was a 3 row vehicle I’d get the EV 9, pay a lot less and get an actually usable 3rd row. I’m not sure how to evaluate premium brands like Volvo that are essentially Chinese cars. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, but is it worth paying a premium?
It needed another half hour in the oven. I think the new hardware platform was more challenging than expected, but I imagine the next three updates will fix a lot. I’ve had about ten since getting my XC40 2 1/2 years ago and yes, there were a few gremlins in the beginning, but this was embarrassing!
I dislike that there are no ventilated seats to help cool the cabin. A glass roof without shading is also useless. Artificial material interior is also bad.
