The 2025 Volvo EX90 Is An Ultra Modern & Sophisticated Luxury 3-Row SUV

- Опубликовано: 6 фев 2025
- The #VolvoEX90 brings a new level of technology and luxury to the brand and while some assumed the #EX90 would replace the flagship XC90, #Volvo has made it clear this new flagship luxury 3-row SUV would be sold alongside as the electric equivalent to the #VolvoXC90. With a big battery pack offering up to 310 miles of range, the EX90 is the newest member of the electric 3-row luxury SUV class and it brings with it a more conventional design with the typical Swedish levels of built quality and characteristics.

Wake up, guys! Sofyan dropped the video in the middle of the night😂
Not our choice, the embargo ended at 3am EST 😂
Oh yeah, if you need to watch a boring Volvo SUV video in the middle of the night, it's time to reconsider things.

The main reason one'd buy this over the EV9, Model X, or R1S is luxury, and while it does have good attention to detail and stomps the Model X with luxury, I would've liked to see vented 2nd-row seats, power sunshades, 3rd-row climate control, and 3rd row heated seats @ $95,000. Also, I agree that the looks are substantially better than the competition, and it's not even close.
You are just asking ultraluxury for the price of luxury. Nice, but not realistic! The luxury features are desirable while on the road trips. Where is CCS1 to NACS adapter and ability to charge at Tesla Superchargers? It is fall, 2024 already!
Without that road trips can't be with peace in mind.
Your ultraluxury features might come available in Lucid Gravity though!
Not once have I seen someone abbreviate "one would" with one'd... Until today
@@nevco8774you can get vented second row, and heated/power third row in a mid $50k Hyundai palisade, a Hyundai Santa Fe has the vented second row, and so does the Kia telluride. There’s others as well so tbh it isn’t asking for ultra luxury when there’s mainstream brands that offer it. Granted it isn’t that common but as Volvos flagship vehicle I would expect that also. Performance doesn’t seem any better than a Kia EV9 GT line also and it’s more expensive…
You should consider the Escalade iq
>fake car
>luxury
They call these family cars, yet people with families and 3-4 kids to support dont seem like the type of demographic to afford these vehicles for the most part.
Yeah. This is more middle aged stay at home wife or wealthy foreigner lol
Depends on the area, but where I live XC90s are everywhere at schools and neighborhoods.
@@connorPiper0Not $100,000 electric ones
You are the top automobile reporter on the web!! Thanks for all the hard work you put forth for us! 🤙
The more I see these new cars, the more I prefer old 2000s cars without any screens.
I actually turn my screen off. It’s distracting
I like the fact they put the led turn signals and reverse lights where people can see them! Not someone like Hyundai/kia
Get that boy some sunscreen, stat!
Why is there never a good focus on range with EV in America. I personally would like to see at least 400 miles.
They can't "offer" you 400miles per charge, because the infrastructure isn't there. Meaning there isn't a dedicated charge station in every block almost, like there is for gas stations. Or at least that they keep telling us the reasoning behind the range, really is all about.
i think battery technology is not improved yet, except china. china is leading in battery technology so u can find in china easily 400-700 km range cars. top ones almost 1000km. but rest of the world fall behind. even the best tesla uses batteries from byd and catl.
Battery would have to be huge, which in turn, makes the vehicle way more heavier and much more expensive!
yeah none of these ev’s that have come recently make range a priority which sucks but give it a few more years, especially with toyota and their new battery tech that’s supposedly coming out around 2026
400-700 KM is 250-466 Miles. You can find a lot of EV’s in that range in the US.
Very beautiful SUV, Volvo is killing it!
VOLVO - "WORLDWIDE RECESSION, LETS MAKE AN EV AT $95,000!"
I had a strong feeling of wanting to Use Window cleaner on the rear glass... LOL
95K
EV
And it's half-baked?!
HARD PASS!
You see one EV you see them all!!!
Another fantastic review! You do a great job and very balanced vehicle to vehicle.
Plastic seats for $100k?!?! Insanity
Make the recycle materials comfortable is much expensive than a leather seat. If you don’t like environment friendly material, don’t buy it. It is for the people who love earth and want to leave a good environment for younger generations
I mean Tesla already gets away with it
Great review & I'm considering buying this EV.
Paying 100k for this vehicle and it doesnt even have a proper guage cluster infront of the driver, just a shit tacked on screen, wow volvo.
OK, now they need to show us the EX60. This looks pretty good so far. The touchscreen stuff is going to be discussed ad nauseam, as usual, but the rest is quite alright. Also, I think Volvo should continue to produce the PHEVs, those are very good and sell well.
That screen really looks 10 years ago.
Yea I thought we were getting passed ipads glued to the dash
Love the way this vehicle looks.
Welcome to our beautiful sunshine City Redline review.
Sick thumbnail pic!
20:18 having a physical control for the hazard lights is actually mandatory along with the front and rear defrosters. We need more features to require hard controls.
The color reminds me of the 3rd gen Desert Dune Metallic 4Runner 4x4 Limited I used to have.
$100,000.00 for this car
Yup for that price it better charge itself 😅
😂😂😂😂😂 It’s a wealth destroyer.
are the lights actually flashing or is that just the frame rate?
As a South Texas resident, the lack of forethought to have a power retractable shade for the roof is bewildering. Having to use a snap on cover in a $100k vehicle is heinous. The compromises are unacceptable at the price point.
$95k Dollars? That's it? I'll take 2 please.. lol
haha for that money i can buy 2 model y's from tesla with better range and keep the rest change!
@@nt5898 Pretty much!!
And have awful build quality and the same car as every other EV Driver all while helping The Trump campaigns
@@robs9010All the more reason for me to buy an American made Tesla.
11:26 the lack of four physical window switches is unacceptable and Volvo should be ashamed of themselves.
I would spend my money on the XC90 or the XC60. A Volvo is never as good as when it’s approaching the end of its life cycle and all the facelifts has been done. And never as bad as when its just released on the market as a brand new model.
Volvos are never good, period. They can't build a quality/reliable vehicle to save their lives.
Wise advise.
The only one more ultra-modern and sophisticated than the 2025 Volvo EX90 is Sofyan!!
That light color interior gotta keep it clean
Definitely not a "family" car. 😂
Where is the winery located in Orange County?
6:54 glad to see Volvo not foresaking North Americans and downgrading the tailllights on USDM vehicles with red turn signals, like they have on some models over the past 10-12 years or so. Hopefully we never see any more red turn signals on any Volvos going forward. Volvo, of all companies, should know that amber turn signals are more effective and safer.
I love my C40, it’s been amazing over the last 2 years, but more room would be amazing and the price is not much more than what I paid.
I never thought a kia would be a new bench mark in the 3 row EV segment.
22:07 the lack of a retractable shade for the glass roof is completely unacceptable.
Are they ventilated ? Another reviewer said they weren't ? Can you confirm.
Volvo just announced. full EV is off the table for 2030
Hazard light switch is in the same place as the Fisker Ocean.
It so weird seeing so many manufacturers going to the triangle symbol for the BLIS systems. First Mercedes/Chrysler now Mazda, Kia/Hyundai, BMW now Volvo.
What on earth is going on with that rear wiper? Why is it so thick?
12:19 those capacitive touch buttons on the steering wheel and how they function are a complete disaster and a dealbreaker. All controls, especially on the steering wheel should be able to be operated by feel, keeping your eyes on the road. Why don't any engineers or car designers know this but I do?
Love your car video
There's literally zero reason to buy this over EV9. EV9 is way more practical, comfortable, has more features, offers similar range if not better and gets more attention than this "slightly different XC90". It is also noticably cheaper. This sums it up.
this was in development for so long, it already seems out of date compared to the competition. people hated the window swtich thing. screens have gotten bigger (although bigger =/= better), but that is the trend. Range is merely competitive for something that is a new release. And they want to charge 80-100k for it...
As if the XC90 itself (and every other Volvo) isn't already one of the least reliable, poorly built vehicles on the road.... this thing is going to be a nightmare to own. A pure shop queen. There's a reason Volvo is ranked almost dead last for reliability every single year by Consumer Reports and JD Power.
Range is dismal 309 advertised but in real world conditions likely will be close to 250 miles or less in winter.
I just can't believe so many people compare Kia EV9 to Volvo EX 90 or Germany EV cars. They are not in the same level. It's like you compare Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volvo with Kia. Come on guys, do your homework. It not just the EV9 size is the same as EX90 and exterior looks good and then you can compare them. The most expensive part for a EV car is motor and battery. The Kia battery is smaller than EX90 and the motor is far less than EX90. Also Volvo safety feature is the highest standard in the car. Volvo use boron steel in very high percentage and boron steel is very expensive. Kia EV9 use a lot of iron in the car but Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volvo use a lot of aluminum. Those are very key for the car safety. Kia save cost in the place you can't see and add more good materials to the place you can see to track customer. It is their marketing strategy no bad or good. Each car company can have their advertising strategy. However it is not an excuse you can use to compare Kia to Volvo or any Germany Cars. They are different things. Kia can compare to Honda, Toyota not Germany brand or European brand.
There is no new XC90. The car introduced on Wednesday is a refreshed XC90 but still uses the same basic design as the XC90 out now. The interior will be slightly revamped, but not drastically. The exterior will have a new front and the rear will be slightly different while the side of the car is almost identical. The EX90 is an all-new vehicle and modern. The XC90 is updated, but it's the same old structure as it was with some general refinements made along the way.
The EX90 looks like an updated XC90 IMO and I like it. A BEV luxury car is expensive. For me, the EV9 is not competition. Something from Genesis is. The EV9 is a mainstream vehicle. It may be nice, but it is not on the EX90 level.
At this price, I am disappointed that Volvo does not include a motorized sunshade for the panoramic glass roof. What a cheap, and disgusting omission! 😡
This could be a good three row Tesla breaker cuz third row in Tesla is a absolute torture chamber.
The giant floating screen glied to the dash makes it look dated
volvo=safety🤩
The xc90 is still being sold alongside this
3 plus tons, worth 50% after 1-2 years if current EV trends continue. Lease only for sure.
It's not electric, it is a battery-operated vehicle plugged into electric to charge battery.
Rather buy a Lucid Gravity.
When is Volvo going to update/refresh their XC90 Infotainment system to at least the EX90? I'd be a customer but the XC90 is outdate.
The 2025.5 XC90 refresh was unveiled earlier today. The exterior/interior has been refined a bit and infotainment is updated to Android Automotive.
@@animeXL Thank you, I just got done watching the video. Unfortunately, they did very minimal updates to it, that it still looks and feel like the original.
During the opening, I saw that weather station protruding from the roof (behind the car) and thought, "Not the most elegant Lidar solution I've seen.' 😜
I would love for frunks to be big enough to hold a set of golf clubs. That's all I ask
Good luck! Turns out, the front of a car is the best place to put the hot bits.
This has been delayed at least a year I work for Volvo
for what reason?
Wish Geely slapped a Volvo badge on Zeekr and sold it in the US. Geely’s Zeekrs are so much better in every respect than their Volvos.
Geely is the parent company. What you're saying is akin to if VW decides to put a Porsche badge on a Skoda, blah blah blah. It's not the same company. They're just in a bigger car group that Geely funds.
Great rephrasing of what is said 👏 with an extra comment.
So the EX30 software is still supposed to still be a disaster, how can Volvo expect customers to trust them and spend $90K on a EX90?
Those cargo figures has to be below the rear seats as to not impede visibility…there’s no way they just 10 cubic feet.
Motor inside headlights? Yikes definitely don’t own this out of warranty
100k for a electric Volvo?
Wow…they are really “borrowing” Tesla UI
Headlights probably $5k a piece
100k and you get that tiny little gauge screen? Wow..
can get a hummer ev suv for same price and looks better!
95 k for the volvo or 95k for 4-6 byds? I take 6 byds LMAO
27:13 I'm 6'0 I fit in my third row
Interior of these cars are just tablets no more luxury
Volvo EM 90 please. It's better than Toyota Alphard And Lexus LM 350
Not available in his region.
95k and no ventilated seats except on an optional material. Terrible.
Asians have such big calves. I wish mine was that big too.
The Model X is 198.” Long also
Wish it was a taller.
Tired of them stupid flushed door handles. They suck if you live somewhere that snows.
looks like they shrunk the bowers in door mids to the single placement like the current xc60's and s60's instead of the large range soundstage it produced, almost certainly to cut cost. Lame.
100k for a volvo, maybe a volvo from the past, these new volvo's? Yikes! Never in my life. On the bright side the older xc90s will drop in price, and that would be the one to get on the used market.
No Apple CarPlay! 🤯 I like EQS SUV! But too much $$$!
It's right around the corner. Trust them.
No interior that looks like a Tesla is remotely “sophisticated “… big fail here
This is for the Volvo die hards cause what they asking for it and how it's looking not adding up for me
Total insanity capital I !! These prices for the EVs are doing absolutely nothing to convince us to make the jump ! Am afraid these car mfgs will be sitting on these overpriced plastic toys for a loooong time!😂😅
That looks like a giant egg.
For a company that prides itself in safety it sure disappoints with having all the controls in one big ipad... Truly Volvo is just becoming another Chinese brand
Has nothing to do with China. This car is completely designed in Sweden. Volvo is not a Chinese brand. And Tesla is the company that came out with the big screen controlling most functions and they're not Chinese.
Chinese people are kicking ass in technology nowadays, Chinese products are not what they used to be. Anyways, Volvo are completely designed in sweden idk what you're talking about Chinese.
@@luigynkaren062011 Volvos are probably more Swedish now than when Ford owned them. And yes, some Chinese products are outstanding and very well made. I'm hearing some Chinese cars are excellent.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, a Chinese company based in Hangzhou, owns Volvo Cars. Geely Holding acquired Volvo in 2010.
@@benjaminsmith2287 ok you've proved nothing other than your lack of depth and understanding of the car market.
Volvo is overrated.
Not competitive at all. On dc chargers Kia and Hyundais e-GMP platform charges in half the time. Half the price.
Stop putting steering and seat controls into the main screen. Toggles are tried and true and work.
Absolutely unacceptable to not launch with apple carplay. A Nissan versa new has great apple CarPlay. No reason that expensive of a car does not launch with it.
Motors in headlights… dumb… Volvo is no longer known for its reliability anymore and that’s an unnecessary gimmick that will eventually have issues or break.
No shade for glass roof included.
Appears that instead of Volvo being innovators like they were known for… they took a Tesla blueprint and pulled as much as they could from it. Sad for Volvo. I had so much higher expectations for the new electric lines. 🤦
New car with old battery tech
Trash. I lemoned this car and got a full refund. Brand new xc 90 2019. They have a host of issues including brakes squeeking ( look it up) that the Volvo engineers have no fix for. Tablet and infotainment system is ugly and frustrating, gets slower with time.
6,300 lbs.!!!
*Oof meme*
I pick Kia EV9 😊😊😊😊 than EX90
Would certainly be better built and more reliable than a Volvo. Modern Volvos are complete heaps of junk.
The rear of the Kia EV9 is really ugly.
I would take the Volvo because at least I wouldn't have to worry about it catching fire like Kia cars often do, and the name KIA just sounds odd😢
@@mattspeer01and what are KIA’s….. junk from day one til now

Volvo has withdrawn that they are going to make only electric cars 2030 👍
