    Sip, I found a used D7000 on Amazon. There it sat in my shopping cart for a few hours. I could not make the commitment to checkout. Then I watched this video as well as "Nikon d7000 camera is still an excellent camera for manual photography in the year 2020 and beyond." Excellent tutorial. You helped my decision. My order is now being processed. Thank you Sip!

      Once you have the classic vintage lenses like nikon 50mm f1.4 or 135mm f3.5, you will love how the image will turn out. Take your time taking pictures; each shot is an important shot.

      @@sammytsai Add a light source to your video and manually focus with the zoom button. I recently bought tons of LED spotlights for cheap (less than $20 each) at my local store and it helps with my video quality. I got 250 lumens and up to 1500 lumens spotlights. You will find having added lights will greatly improve the background noise to the video. Make sure to manually colour balance your videos.

    I'm using the AVerMedia HDMI port with the Nikon D7000. My aspect ratio seems to be cut off on zoom and any screen (a little smaller than the full screen). This is affecting me if I want to have a background. Is there a way to fix this aspect ratio to go full screen?

    Hi, dear Thank you so much for this video. I used to take ok videos with this camera but lately, it has been impossible. What did I do wrong? I would appreciate it a lot if you could tell me,. I am setting up the picture mode and taking a picture and the colors are fine. I am switching the video mode, the color is extremely overexposed, not much color. It is impossible to set video colors lately. Thank you so much for your time.

    I have the same D7000 with those settings and a variety of lenses (70-300mm, 50mm, 35mm) yet the footage always looks grainy and bad. My cell phone looks better! Am I doing something wrong?

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  2 года назад

      Shutter speed and ISO set too high? Turn on flash when photographing low light situation. Aperture wide open (f2 to f2.8 is ideal)? Manual focus? 70-300mm not the best lens to use. Smartphone tends to sharpen their image and the software may apply noise reduction automatically.

      @@educatetube Photos from the camera look great, however, the video is terrible. I have adjusted all the settings properly. I understand now that the D7000 isn't exactly meant to replace a camcorder even though it's capable of shooting video. After watching other youtube videos, I think the issue is lighting. Unlike the cell-phone which uses software to enhance the footage, the DSLR is way more sensitive to poorly lit conditions. I'll try it again with added lights. Thank you.

    Is the Nikon D7000's mic capability by default is bad comparing to newer camera?
    As I'm trying to make short videos and am never satisfy with it's audio recorded even when using an external microphone

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  3 года назад +2

      If I am doing short films I would never rely on any camera's internal mic recording. I would go with good external audio recorder and sync it with the camera internal audio recording during video editing.

    Hi, your video for the Nikon D7000 is very helpful. What about shooting video for outdoor activity, what lens would you recommend for a low light that can capture great video, not expensive though.

    • @educatetube
      @educatetube  3 года назад +2

      For low light I use nikon 50mm f1.4 shutter speed 1/30 or less and iso800. Manual adjust white balance. Turn down sharpness and contrast. Turn up saturation.

    There are actually some "patched" firmware versions to get a little bit more control over the video capabilities.
    Like higher bit-rates as well as removing the time based video restrictions and I believe a better HDMI output.
    Obviously comes with some risks involved.
    Maybe I am completely mistaken, but I think that capturing the HDMI out will give a better image quality in general?

    • @brusher.production
      @brusher.production 3 года назад

      As far as my research shows, there is actually no clean HDMI output from the D7000. In case you don't know, this means you can't output just what the sensor is seeing, but you get all the focusing brackets, settings, etc. It is really designed for rigging and using an external monitor for framing and focusing while shooting in live view/movie mode. I wasn't aware of this when I bought mine second-hand, and planned to use it as a webcam, but upon further research I found this out. I know there is actually a third party firmware patch like you mentioned, but the stability of it is questionable at best. Personally, since my D7000 is still my main stills camera, I have decided to not take the risk and snoop around for an older mirrorless with a clean HDMI output for less than 100 bucks.

    • @brusher.production
      @brusher.production 3 года назад +1

      So no, I don't think the HDMI output is any better than the Camera's internal recorder. Especially considering you have to use a capture card to record from the HDMI output at all, which raises costs and depending on the quality of the capture card, the video codec utilized, and then the program that is used to finally record it all play into it. It just MIGHT have a little bit higher quality compression than the camera's built in compression, but I honestly doubt it.

    Your Audio recording is not on stereo, im using my headphones in the office and only the R-piece im using on my ear. You're already talking but i cant hear anything, then the intro music played which is okay. and after that you speak again without sound, so i thought of using the L-piece and im right, your sound is on MONO. You have to consider editing again.
