      I agree. They still could have used the individual pieces put rotated the grain. I would have carried the reveal around to the sides and mitered the corners. This would give the illusion of blocks of wood stacked with a 1/8" reveal. They did it the cheapest way possible to get a decent look. You have a good eye, most people would not notice.

    Although the changes they made look good now, they chose trendy stuff in some spaces which will again look dated at some point. I think mixing more classic design like the traditional style the house had with something more up to date would go further. The bathroom is probably the only thing I could see standing the rest of time. The wood entry will Quickly become outdated, and even the fireplace. Instead of wrapping the whole thing they should have just done the standard floating mantle, much more classic.

    Barn door, great idea. Entry lovely. Great living room. Beautiful master.
    However, some things puzzle me about the reno.
    Why not stage the old dining room as an office, instead of an odd sitting room with a door?
    New dining area rug, WAY too small.
    Ensuite bath - why not one continuous vanity and counter, instead of the wasted space between for things to fall in the crack?
    And the tub looks SO claustrophobic.

    • @nicollepratt8421
      @nicollepratt8421 10 месяцев назад

      It’s worse than that! In this episode they double dipped the renovation. Should’ve been sale price of $712k minus sellers equity (415) then minus their investment (60k) and split that ($237k). But they instead split the difference after the new list price (510k) minus the ($60k) and split that. They gave this couple $71k and according to original deal they should’ve given them $118k. Even after paying themselves back the $60k, they somehow got $166k in the “split” and Jeff & Kristen got $71k. I’m not sure how this episode hasn’t turned into a lawsuit.

    How is NO ONE catching that these ladies ripped off the sellers almost FIFTY GRAND?? They double counted their initial investment of $60k. The original list was $415k, they put in $60k and listed at $510 in the hopes to split a $35k profit (510-475) for $17.5 each. Instead they sold at $712k which should be less the sellers investment ($415k) and their investment ($60) and split the difference which is $237k/2 = $118.5 each. Instead the twins for some reason split the difference from the original LIST price. They basically double dipped their investment. How is no one seeing this???? They gave Jeff and Kristen $71k when they’re owed $118k. Where’s their $47k, ladies?!?!

    Not understanding the math on this one she stated that if it's sold for $510,000 they would profit $17 ,000 a piece but it's sold for $712,000 so that's $202,000 Over they then would split. so they each should have walked away with 118, 000 each but she said that they walked away with 74,000????? Because you have to subtract this initial $17,000 they would received if it's sold for $510,000. So that means they only got $57,000 out of the $202,000 that it was over. So that means Leslie and Lindsay walked away with $145,000 plus their initial investment . if my math is correct these people got scammed out of $45,000

      $71,000 each for profit. Why they're going off the new list price I'm not sure but they are definitely not scamming anyone. Perhaps they wanted to give the owners even more profit $510k-$415k=$95k over the initial calculations and in addition to the $71k...assuming the owners own the house outright with no liens or mortgages. Ridiculous.They want to SELL it, not live in it. They are not mad at all and if it was your house, you'd never hire them in the first place. Its a gorgeous house and they always do a great job.

    What's with the barn door - don't those belong barns, they've been overdone and they look awful. The wood on that entry wall is ugly - there's other ways to feature the height. There's not a lot of imagination or creativity. It looks like Home Depot inside the house. The fireplace could've had a better makeover instead of the plain easy cheap look they finished with. It at least had character before...

    202 000 over asking with that small kitchen. And too many natural wood accents.
