The star interview method is a technique used by interviewers to ensure that while you are answering an interview question and you are describing a situation where you are addressing the situation task action result, and this gives them a rounded response to their question.
The star method is also a great tool for candidates to use when answering any situational interview question as its a fool-proof way of ensuring your interview has covered every area of the interview question. The STAR Method also goes by

Thank you for all your help! Your videos made a world of a difference for me ! I gained so much confidence in interviewing. Received a few job offers and I couldn’t have done it without you !!
You're most welcome, thank you for coming back to share that, and massive congratulations on your (multiple🔥) job offers 🥳
I find situation based questions ridiculous. I got asked if I've ever had to make a quick decision. That's like being asked have you ever yawned or breathed. So stupid i couldn't even respond. To answer these stupid questions one has to have fictitious stories at hand. It's counterproductive. Why not ask exact questions regarding the specific job and how you'll fit. Interviews need to change. It's 2023 now. This is the type of basic stuff that was asked 20 years ago.
I agree !! This method is used even for internal hiring . I'm like if y'all see me doing great, ask me to apply - why interview me with these action based questions. It's wild 😂
@@SNOB4LIFEE They are looking for justification for hiring you and not someone else. It's kind of weird though, but that's what happen most times .
I made this comment after being promoted. I'm now being asked to apply for a leadership role. I better start practicing lol.
Thanks for watching! What questions do you struggle with most?
Tell me about a time when your integrity was challenged?
Thank you ❤ I got hired a big company. I watched 2 days before interview and they asked me 4 questions only. Thank you
Congratulations! 🎉 Thank you for coming back to share your results and best of luck in your new role :)
Subscribed, liked, and commented!

This is one of the best STAR interview videos on RUclips. You deliver your examples at pace, you communicate in a clear and concise way. Every example was easy to follow. Thank you 😊
Thank you, very much appreciated!

Thank you! I got the job.
Congratulations Faye! 🎉 thank you for coming back to share your result, enjoy your new role!
Thank you for your videos. I really like your mock answers. However, in my recent interview for the Office Assistant position, I got a question 'How do you say NO to your customers( employees and vendors or other stakeholders) without creating a negative office environment? can you please help me on this
Hi Amri. Thank you for the STAR method. I loved the way you explained it and i have found it very useful indeed. For good measure, your insistence on giving examples repeatedly to give authenticity and substance to your answers have also been extremely valuable. Keep it up!
Thank you!
This gave me so much confidence to attend interviews.......so G R A T E F UL
So glad to hear that! Best of luck in your interview!
Hi ... I really need help with answering " tell me about a time you have made a mistake " in pharmacy practice.
Appreciate your reply
Thank you
Can you send videos on Procurement and Contract Management roles interview questions and answers
DEAR, YOUR VIDEOS ARE MARVELLOUS 👏👏👏 CHARLES STAUDT FROM BRAZIL 🇧🇷
Thank you very much Charles!
This is VERY HELPFUL! If you could speak a little slower it would be easier to take notes. Fabulous content…
So sorry about that - thank you for the feedback!
FYI: Hit the gear icon located in top right corner of videos to select your preferred playback speed. I personally think Amri's pace is perfect. 😊
These are very informative videos and very very helpful but you speak too fast and move from topic to topic too quickly!! But still one of the best I have found to date!
Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks, but why you don't use starR( where last R is reflection) method?
Hi Margo, really interesting question, thanks for asking. I sometimes include reflection in the 'learning' section of the STAR method (when an 'L' is occasionally added on to the end), however, as most interviewers, I've worked with use the 'R' as 'Result' to assess candidates I've decided to reflect this version in the video.
Hello mam thanks for providing this informative video.
You're most welcome!
Why would you offer a discount on the item you have in shortage? If you encouraged the clients to buy something you have in shortage, you'll end up with less itams of that... I think you mean you offered a discount on the item you had in excess? Sorry I tend to overanalise stuff that don't need extra thinking...
Planning and Organizing
Working with Others
Judgment
Information Integration & analysis
Resourcefulness
Written communication
Do you have any questions/ best answers relating to the above case. Thank you.
So you are good at making up stories. Does your answer reflect your experiences and work history? I bet not.
I have never had a job in sales before to use these answers, should I just lie that I did?
Hi, no - these answers are just examples, I recommend sharing your transferable skills if you were interviewing for a job that you had no prior experience in. If they invited you for an interview they are aware that you have no prior experience, but feel that you could potentially do the job. This video covering transferable skills may help: ruclips.net/video/tktO28hH_Mg/видео.html Best of Luck!
Is it advisable to say one is retired?
It depends on the context, are you referring to an application?
@@amriceleste Yes, I am going to a job interview on Wednesday and wondering what is the best way to answer. I retired from my job to look after my mother in Philadelphia now I am back in Canada and ready to go back in the work force.
Sorry you talking too fast difficult to understand for me. Please little slow down and explain.
Thanks
i'm watching in 2.2x speed and you're saying normal speed is too fast 😆
you literally can slow the video, bro...
It’s so stupid you have to do all this just for an interview hahahaa I just had to say it. I have a job on the bag but the one I really want is asking for this types of pre recorded questions and I can’t really lie or elaborate on situations in so short amount of time and hit points that are useless for the job I’m gonna be doing hahaha I’m frustrated cause I know I’m a fucking great salesman and customer service person and problem solver but this is totally stupid
Star is a great way to hier a lier. This interview technique is a joke. Makes no sense.
Thanks so much for your channel and advice. I bombed out of an interview a month ago for a dream job. Googling "star method" got me to your channel. I followed your prep steps, including research, listening to my voice (eek) and practising answers. I then had 2 interviews, offers from both and accepted the best one🙂.
2 offers is a fantastic result, congratulations Geoff! ✨Thank you somuch for sharing that and best of luck in your new role!
