    I'm looking at the BIG B.O.B. or the Ultimate One stick by Eastern Woods Outdoors.
    The BIG BOB is the most likely choice. Which would you pick? Thanks for the video. 😃👍

    Excellent review as always. I agree the Big Bob is unique and the best. I have not bought one because the price is a turn off. A Big Bob without a cam cleat or a rope is $259 before tax and shipping. It’s the old, “Did you want tires with that car?”

    Good review. Thanks. I am very eager to watch your comparison of the OOAL Big Bob vs the EWO Ultimate Platform Ultimate One-Stick (and maybe your comparison will include some other one-stick setups). I currently have and like an EWO UP One-stick, but I need to purchase a second one-stick setup before this season, since I often want to loan sets of kit to family members who occasionally hunt with me but don't yet have their own gear. (I do have a four stick and platform setup that I loaned out to family members last year, but this year I will have two family members hunting with me at the same time, so I want a total of 3 good saddle hunting setups). I am very likely to purchase a Big BOB or a UP (or maybe something else) soon.

      Did you end up getting the big Bob? If so how do you compare against the Ultimate 1 stick?

    I add a ring of steps to my platform or one stick so I can more easily hide behind the tree for a shot. I have found that any standard stick will flex up and make noise when you step off of it . Because of the cam at the top of this stick will it stay in place and not make noise when you step off of it? Please let me know. Thanks for you many great informative videos👍

    Awesome review…… last season I seem to hit my shins on the edge of my u.p. a bunch when climbing. Was thinking if the bottom step came out like the U.P. I could avoid popping my shins. I see I’m not the only one with knots !!!! Thanks Spencer

    Great video. Really like your reviews. Question: at the end of the video I noticed you were using what looks like a Black Diamond Carabiner and some kind of orange ring tied into the end of your life line. I see some kind of amsteal prusik knot running from the primary rope to the carabiner. How you running that set up to anchor your life line to the tree? Thx!

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  2 года назад +2

      Thanks man. I appreciate you watching. That is a large Petzl rappel ring. You just feed a bight of rope through the ring and clip the carabiner into the bight. You’ll notice the carabiner has a short “tether” back to the main line. I clip my pull down rope onto the carabiner and can pull it down but it takes A LOT of force. I’m working on another hitch that releases easier.

    It's been about 18 yrs since I've hunted. I just recently took of trad bow hunting and was looking into saddle hunting for public land. If you don't mind apart from the saddle and stick what do I need for one stick method? Thanks for any help you can give. Even if it's a past video. Right now I'm on an info overload 😂

    Do you recommend any small minimalist packs that would be slim profile to carry the big bob on but enough room to fit a few heavier layers mainly a jacket say under 1500ci not looking for a frame pack looking at the kuiu 1500divide just don’t know if it would fit through the divide packet.

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  2 года назад

      I’ve not played around much with packs. I am trying a striker evolution but am not super impressed. I normally use a frame pack.

    Outstanding video and review. Being new to saddle hunting and looking at one sticking. What benefit is the small lower platform? Does it help the aider? Does it help with climbing and standing in general? I will be looking forward to you comparing the EWO and BOB later once you have more time with the BOB. Thank you

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  2 года назад +1

      Thanks man. That lower platform just offers so much more stability when advancing the tether or while climbing.
