  • What is a fella to do when his Warmoth Jazzmaster build isn't quite right and needs a bit of fine tuning? Well, this fella tore it all apart, scrapped the electronics, then un-scrapped them and finally assembled a pretty outstanding guitar.
In this video I take you through the why of it all and a tear down, looking at the guts of my JM build. This parts guitar was fashioned from a Warmoth Jazzmaster body with a beautiful blue burst and a reversed headstock roasted maple neck. It has a Mastery Bridge and Sunday Handwound Pickups Woodie Set along with the fine assortment of Schaller tuners and fancy pots and switches.
Once this guitar is fashioned with a new neck I take you on a stereo Chorus test ride using the Schu-Tone Stereo Chorus into a Trinity Amps 18 Watt on one side and a Mesa Boogie TA-30 on the other. This was my first interaction with a baritone guitar and filmed the whole improv and edited down to the fair bits.
After my first attempt to have a baritone it was clear I needed to learn a thing or two and had to make some corrections.
Second attempt and play through is with my modded PedalPCB.com Cannon Fodder MKI into the Trinity amps 18 Watt.
I hope you guys this video, I know it is a bit longer but there is a lot to cover!

Those stupid pickup screws! I had the same issue on my Squier Jazzmaster. It also seems impossible to find the exact part. I ordered new Fender screws and they don't fit.
I'm surprised the guitar buzzes even with Mastery hardware. Anyway you should probably raise the bridge and shim the neck or use heavier gauge strings.

If it can be lost, it will be. That is my feelings towards any tiny part.
You are absolutely correct about needing a shim, I have the smallest one in there and it needs to be a bit more aggressive. Just measured the action at the 12th fret at 5mm, ordering a new shim soon…

What inlay option did you choose for that baritone neck? Are you happy with the color?
