Hey guys, this guitar is for sale here: www.gunsandguitars.net/product-page/b-tone-vi
Looks too good to be that price. You should add at least 500$
Trade ya for an '82 USA-made (Fullerton, CA) Strat Standard...
Any chance of you adding the wiring diagram to your shop?
Looking to do this kit and as a guitarist and bass player I think this set-up would be perfect.
I just got my very 1st Squire Bass VI (I’ve been playing bass for 42 years, and have been on Christian worship teams for most of 37 years), have you ever installed a “Fender Mute” plate? I have 3 “Bennerman’ signature models (2 guitars and 1 bass), and am thinking about building a Bass VI similar to what you’ve built here, wow, what a great job you’ve done on this!
Have you sold this Bass VI yet?
Bro, I have quoted you in collage papers with your saying "your circumstances do not define you(r means)". You are the last bastion of hope for the second greatest state in the union!
College*
@@Skeletor4753 Nah I made a collage of papers for college lol.... I'm blaming autocorrect
How are you doing Dan? We missed you. I started guitar making after seeing your encouraging videos. I hope you are living the best days of your life.
The 4 pickups remind me a lot of the weird and funky 60s and 70s budget guitars, and the fact that it's an extended range guitar adds to that "what am i looking at" vibe in a really cool way. The sounds are really cool, but i'm mostly interested in that Piezo bridge. I might be picking one up for my "Not an ES 335"
You need to keep making this guitar a model you offer. I also want to see this same finish on one of your current bass models. I think it would look so nice.
That HB was a fantastic addition. Really bridges the gap between the tic tac sound and a truer bass tone. Overall a killer product there, mate.
Dan, you keep impressing me with every guitar/bass you build. You keep giving me ideas for how I can make my guitar arsenal more versatile, especially the wiring on this one. I cant wait to see what you have brewing next.
Brehhhhh. That.. is.. the BEST. sounding Bass VI, I've ever heard! JEEZUS!!! The piezo is what brought it over the top! WOW
Leslie was the man, a comedic legend.
Awesome build 👏 👌 😎 🙌 fantastic work Dan.
Your builds keep getting crazier I love it
Ngl, I can't gel with the og pitbull design. Now, this has to be one of the most beautiful instrument that i have seen! Great job sir!
BRO! That has to be my fav of all your builds. Loved this guitars journey so much I decided to turn my Monster Bass into a Bass6 kind of deal. Thanks for inspiring.
This is my favorite of all your builds so far I think. Super cool!
Thanks Jeff!
I mean... If you can't even be bothered to make a realistic imposter account...
I remember starting this builder journey years ago , you’ve progressed so much man, keep on rocking and building!!
And I love how it turned out much cooler now
Man I always wanted a Fender VI type of guitar / baritone guitar... this is awesome!
What a gorgeous looking (and sounding) transformation.
You have outdone yourself sir! Absolutely gorgeous instrument
I've been learning to build using kits from people like you the Canadian dude that everybody says his shirts are too small I cannot remember his name right now but and scarred My guitar you guys have been a tremendous help but I also want to build myself a baritone one day I want to move into making fiddles I got one I have to repair at the house one day and banjos mandolins dobros I want to make a that one day for myself too I sell a lot of it when I build it I have two for sale right now nobody's pulled the trigger on it yet but I've had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things thanks again
I just added the Musiclily Ultra locking tuners to an Ibanez hollowbody guitar and they are great. A direct replacement that made string changes quick and easy.
I just clicked on this out of curiosity and fun, but it gave me a lot of information I was actively looking for in regards to a piezo tune o matic for my jaguar
Man, that thing not only looks awesome it sounds awesome! I loved the sound of the first one you built, but this one is unbelievable!! Of course it helps when someone skillful is playing it! I really gotta try one of those.
So awesome! Such a rad build! Great job! 👍🏻 I was one of the guys that suggested a humbucker way back on the original video. Super stoked you added that. Thank you for making this great content! 👍🏻
That’s for the suggestion, I think it was the right choice!
The top looks much better than I would have guessed.
Sounds great!
That thing sounds super clean, and downright nasty at the same time. Mission accomplished. 👏
I'd like a Bass VI style build that has a hard tail, no trem. That finishing process is sick, love it!
After watching your channel, I've determined that I'll likely be building my next bass though that's probably a couple years off since I just bought a new one this year!
Love the sound coming out of it. Also really like the fabric finish.
It's so beautiful.. Well done, once again.
Great work as always!
I'm building my own 30" baritone from scratch, even with an offset body shape, but my own design. I was going to go with humbuckers, but those singles sound nice.
SICK, ARE U FINISHED 3 WEEKS LATER?
please build more!! i will gladly buy this ASAP!!!
if only these were made for sale time to build myself one because this looks amazing man
Great video, Dan!! As to the optional nut, bone is my weapon of choice! It's natural, resilient, and transmits the the sound from string to wood flawlessly. My 2nd choice is usually Graphtec, and I have an awesome Les Paul that came in a kit with the Graphtec, so I stayed with it. I have another LP that came with plastic and it now has bone. Great stuff!! Again, great video and good work!! I'm in SE AZ. Maybe someday we could meet.
I agree on the bone nut arguement. Bone sounds the best, but I like graphtech for tuning stability on guitars with tremolos. The graphtech tone is next best. I use bone nuts on my custom line of basses.
Some groovy tracks , neat job on the instrument .
man you're awesome. i can't believe that i haven't discovered you earlier
Dude! This was such a cool video... Gave me a lot of ideas man!
Really dug how you used the fabric on the body & pick guard. I'm
so inspired Dan, thank you!
Thanks Jeff!
Form and functionality. Amazing design. You are a true Artist, DAN! Using a lot of thought and craftsmanship in your builds. Incredible, Brother! ⭐️😇🙏
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful!!
Thanks Max!
Very impressive upgrade from the original. Great job as always sir!
Thanks Joshua!
Sweet guitar build!🎸 and Excellent video!🎼 Thank you
Been waiting for this one and it’s turned out great as always!
that came out really gorgeous. I hope that the person that buys it enjoys the heck out of it. My only "boo" is the battery compartment lol. I do not like those screw on covers, but I get your reasoning for doing it at the time. If I was said owner I would buy high-capacity rechargeable lithium ion 9Vs to maximize time between changing batteries to minimize use on the wood threads.
It sounds absolutely beautiful!
Thanks! I agree with you on the battery compartment. Wish I had a plastic battery tray to install, but I didn’t plan for it, I was hoping it would all fit neatly under the pickguard.
Amazing build - especially as I got to see what it was originally. Very impressive. The material almost reminds me of those paisley guitar designs from the late 90's. Not as loud though :)
I love the shape of the body but never been big on the bass VI (I’m a purist when it comes to bass), but the great thing about these things is you can easily convert it to a standard six string with just a simple neck swap.
I really do like the fabric tops.
Another great build Dan ✌😎
Man that's next level right there.
Great build; you adapted and it workd out great, as usual!
Another great video Dan.
Impressive wiring man! Instead of drilling the tuners, I've heard you can bend the string and then unravel one of the outer winds to lighten the gauge and then it should fit through the tuner. I haven't had to do it yet but just something I picked up from The Bunn.
I’ve heard of that too, but if you break a string in a gig, who wants to be panicking fiddling with a string to modify it and install it on the spot? Drilling it out seems like the right choice so one can change strings without extra thought involved
Congrats on taking a decent kit and turning it into something quite special. This looks like a great instrument. There is only one thing I would say that this guitar could really do with and that is a bass cut switch which is in the Fender bass 6 design. I was hearing the boomyness which points to the lack of it at the end of the video. The fabric finishing technique you have come up with looks amazing although the jury is out on how it will handle day to day wear and tear.
The active preamp has a bass boost/cut, I just had it boosted because I wanted it to be bassy for the demo. Also, the fabric is sealed in epoxy resin, then coated with shellac and tru oil. Can’t imagine it would wear out even a little. Heck I sanded it with 320 grit sandpaper and it took it like a champ.
Yes!!!!! A genuine 5 pickup guitar!!!!
This is such a dope build
That's a clean machine.
Best choice is to unwind the string that won't fit through the tuner - learned that the hard way.
Glad to see this vid I've done a bass vi but I've always used kluson tuners because of the string thickness im going to swap out for locking
Awesome video looks sick. Also thanks for putting the links for the tuners and knobs, been trying to buy knobs for a kit guitar and eventually wanted to replace the tuners without breaking the bank (clicked on the links to buy so hopefully it helps out the channel). Look forward to getting them and installing them! Hope all is well.
Hey Chris, glad I could help you out, thanks for helping me out!
That top is so cool.
birth of a very cool offset baritone
Beautiful work.
Beautiful guitar, beautiful sound!
It's on my to do list now
6:01 the finish isn’t my cup of tea but I definitely respect the craft and skill that goes into it
Killed it bro 🤘🏼🎸
Came out very nice awesome looking Bass🎸👍.
That may be one of the most beautiful builds that you’ve done to date! ❤️ wish I had the funds to buy this. Great job on the build.
Even though I'm subscribed to the channel I don't think I've seen one of your videos in a long time. Go figure I'm building an AR10 upper at my desk and one of your videos is finally on my homepage.
Perfect timing!
That’s one classy bass
Just……wow…… that’s just…..dude…so badass.
Fantastic stuff as usual.
Great work.
Thanks!
@@GunsandGuitars Hi Dan. I'm guessing the comment below is false?
I'm glad the battery didn't fit. Batter should never be under the pickguard. Had that problem when an inexperienced guitar center tech installed my sustainiac (next time ill just do it)... batter changes should always be outside, or else you'd have to take the pickguard off everytime... and eventually the screw holes would strip.
Piezo pu has a really nice sound.
Man, I love every set of DragonFire's I've installed and now I can get 10% off? Thanks buddy!
Awesome instrument!
Stunning results so much better than the base (bass? 😉) kit.
Love this. I want one.
Very cool! Great work!
Another really good budget option for locking tuners tone ninja! I definitely lober their stuff and their consistently good quality.
Musiclily has always been hit or miss for me
They’ve been hit or miss with me too. Works great for cheaper thinks like output jacks and knobs, but tuners I can’t do their cheap stuff, but the pro line is definitely much better.
@@GunsandGuitars yeah I'll use their other stuff but when it comes to tuning machines I definitely can't cheap out on those
love how you drilled the tuner and didn't say anything about the mod working or not. lol
Cool build it's a shame the site doesn't have anymore available 🙀😾
Cool Video, Cool Bass, most times I've used Purple Heart it sometimes turns a bit of a brownish color and at times changes back to purple...
But yea very cool video and Bass ✌😎
Watching from New Zealand 🇬🇸
Funny this comment was for another video dont know how it ended up here but your videos are great Dan and I have always liked what you build
Awesome Dan, inspiring me to get my act together and finish off my ggbo bass6 video
Yeah dude, when you feel up to it wrap that build up!
I'd prefer something simpler but this is great.
You have to make a behemoth model thats a 6 string, and available in bass vi or traditional 6 string bass (4 string with low b and high c)
I love those ideas!..
First off, gnarly axe!! Really cool redesign and as usual flawless execution!
Have you considered Maximum Guitar Works finishing system? Pre buy is still up and I think it’ll fit with your ethos and aesthetic.
Love the tone too! The playing demo was slick!
Slight word of warning about Dragonfire Pickups. They are great for the price, but the compony is kinda iffy on their business ethic.
I know a youtuber who recived a faulty set and politely asked to return them. While he did get his money back, he was subsuquently banned from purchasing from them again. Refusing to do business with someone because they rightfully asked to return a faulty product is a bit of a red flag in my eyes.
Dragonfire's morals aside, great looking guitar, sounds great too!
That’s crazy! I’ve never heard about that. Thanks for informing me. I’ve only ever had great interactions with them, but they know who I am and take good care of me, so thank you for the insight.
I'd love to see a bassVI in an archtop. Think that would be an off the wall design.
Yeah that would be rad!
@@GunsandGuitars uh....Dan? It that you? ^^^^
"what guitar do you get someone who has everything?"
A Bass vi octave guitar with 4 pickups and a piezo will always be the answer.
Lol! Nailed that seinfeld lick on the six!!?!
you shoud make a guitar with a bass pickup in it thatd be so cool
I've got so many questions! I've had this kit and sat on it for a while - but I've got a Seymour Duncan Texas special and a fernendes sustainer pickup I want to try to put in - and have no ideas how to~
This is the embodiment of option paralysis 😅😅
Sounds fantastic though!
Sweet!
Can you make a electric guitar change into a bass guitar, maybe try les paul or SG
Sperzel makes custom tuners. I have a set of bass locking tuners on an explorer bass that I have.
Interesting! I’ve been searching for locking bass tuners. I’ll try to find these
Thats so cool
If you’re able or whoever buys it is able, I’d like to know how the tuners hold up after a few weeks of play.
