Ordering A Custom Guitar: Eliasson Guitars Goldie dk

Today is a video all about the Eliasson Guitars Goldie dk edition. In the video, we dive deeper into the process of ordering a custom guitar and its tech specs then its onto the sounds! Oh, the sounds..... The Goldie dk is running into a little pedal board into the DeLisle 8x8 Deluxe Amp/Cabinet selector into a Chinook Amps "Barb" with a VFE Yodeler in the FX loop. The Jake Blade
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.9 месяцев назад
To answer the question, what is that tremolo bar thingy you use on all your guitars? This is the Jake Blade, it was created by Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee with Rough Gauge LLC. I find it to be the most effective trem arm, since it stays out of the way of your controls. It allows me to be a bit more subtle and not going straight to Jeff Beck rip off territory. Highly recommend it! I am not...

What is a fella to do when his Warmoth Jazzmaster build isn't quite right and needs a bit of fine tuning? Well, this fella tore it all apart, scrapped the electronics, then un-scrapped them and finally assembled a pretty outstanding guitar. now me - dont listen to me because i am completely out of my mind . i had a piece of a capacitor lodged in my left foot for a few years . i had to have it surgically removed . it was the cut off or part that should have ended up in the garbage . I agree - yes perhaps this is wise choice to try and be careful with your cut offs . perhaps it may be wise to wear shoes , dont solder with short pants . I am nuckin futz , my solder already has the flux innit BUT - i like to use paste flux . i also like to remove the paste flux , i never solder with out using some form of additional flux paste or in some case liquid. i have a lot of fluxs too. its my thing . i use fans and filters when soldering , and i also remove the flux . if you do not use flux thats great i am happy for you . i bring it up because my experience is that most people who are beginners have a tough time soldering . my experience showed me soldering is much less challenging with a massive bump in success rates when i employ flux . if you never used it good for you ! make a post , make a video , paint it on a barn. i am trying to provide info which made my life infinitely easier -we solder a lot in our house , for the first 25 years i did this stuff i did not use flux . a plumber turned me on to it . since that single demonstration i have never soldered with out using additional flux. after i am finished soldering , i remove the flux . i use ipa for this , old tooth brushes and also wire hobby brush as a last stage . i also add a second applique of flux - go over the solder joints a second time - before testing . you certainly dont have to do any of this stuff , thats the fun part of it . we built a DIY audio probe and paired that with R.G. Keens quick and dirty test oscillator. as a result of building hundreds of circuits , effects , oscillators and amplifiers, i got rather adept at trouble shooting over the years . we now test every part that we can before cutting them in . we have run into bad switches , bad jacks , bad pots , bad capacitors - especially the mlcc ones that come in a multi pack - about 1/3 of those were bad on my last order but they were not from tayda . tayda has been pretty good but , minimal fake stuff and minimal duds , when you are buying bulk and then budget buying on auction sites my experience was that i ran into a lot of bad components . your experience is not mine . i wont say sorry , there is no emoji to state what i took the time to type here . if you do not have the patience to read what i took my time to type to you , perhaps it would be wise to choose a different hobby . Chinese pedals are 30 dollars shipped from al baba now . ordering everything i need to build a single boost pedal , the last time i did that costed me 63 dollars from tayda . now if you are going to come at me with attitude because your experience was different thats great i applaud you . i am merely trying to be helpful and realistic about how expensive this hobby has become . if tayda or dhl is charging you 3 dollars for shipping thats great and i am thrilled for you because they are charging me 16 - for a small order , again to build a single boost pedal .... its funny because these angry know it all types never post but they come out in droves to respond in an accusatory tone , like i took the time to type all this out , but all of it is a fairy tale i cooked up because i am secretly josh from jsh . the thing about guitar effects is this , tone is subjective . telling someone the pedal i think they should build is about as smart as trying to describe the plot of tom and jerry to my cat . starting out , start small , do not rush . test first .having a capacitance testing multi meter with a pair of alligator clip clasps for testing components quickly - using flux , image flipping vero board jpgs for hole cutting , all stuff you do not need to do . in fact NEVER do any of this , NEVER use flux , you will be the next anthony zvex by noon tomorrow . what are you doing ? go pick out which fishing lures to put in your cap to wear at NAMM where tessa jeffers and rebecca dirks will be fighting over who gets to interview you first

Great tutorial! I find it helpful to keep a tube of soldering flux with a toothpick in it to dab a little flux on the solder pads. It really helps the solder flow better with larger solder joints, like on footswitches, pots and jacks. Also helps with tinning wires, so it's a quick process where the insulation doesn't melt and the wire end doesn't get too fat.

This is a great advice! I use a syringe of flux to apply in the hard to reach areas. Cannot recommend it highly enough

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm finishing up an ElectroVibe Mini, which is pretty intense since there are 2 stacked boards and everything fits together so tight. I was just about to solder in the 9203 LDRs I got from Mouser and they are MIA (probably got accidentally thrown away). Now I am patiently awaiting replacements to arrive and researching how to dial it in in the meantime. Nice playing and thanks again for the helpful video!🙏

That build is quite the challenge! Once you get it running, you will have an incredible uni-vibe! Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you!!! I have not and I am not sure I ever will. Pick ups seem like a lot of expensive guess work and there are a lot of companies out there that have gotten it right already. Not saying I won’t give it a go at some stage of my lunacy.

I’m about to put one of these together. Curious if you used the aluminum transistors or plastic ones. It sounds great!
