Anyone ever think maybe it was meant to speed up? I will never doubt Zach Condon's ideas, many of his songs that are live are very different from album versions. That's what makes them all so enjoyable, a new show everytime you watch. Gotta love zach , his talent, his band.
I love their performances on the street much more than this, its just too slick and smooth for Beirut! The improvised and everyday-ness of it, the idea you could run into them yourself behind a streetcorner - thats the charm of Beirut in my opinion. Nevertheless, great performance, by extremely talented musicians. I would kill for a voice like that!
I didn't really see any problem with drumming. Okay he may have sped up a bit but he didn't lose the rhythm. If anything I find the speeding up adds to the song.

Nick is one hell of a drummer, might have had to speed this up because it was a TV performance and had to rush it a little bit upon specific request.
