He was fighting cancer for two years. In his last instagram video, he was asking his followers to pray for him. About 16 weeks ago. May he RIP.

I kinda forgot Ben now I found out he passed away. I thought he was the best and fastest flamenco player ever!
I am so sad this man left us to cancer. Cancer sucks man! I started taking flamenco lessons and searched songs and landed on one of the bulerias of Ben in this channel. I just found his channel about 4 days ago not knowing he had passed. I subscribed and asked him a question then yesterday saw from posts here that he had passed in late 2022. RIP....what a huge loss...
I'm afraid you won't read this anymore, but writing here is all I can do.
I want you to know that you will not be forgotten. You are one of my main inspirations, that got me into Flamenco in the first place, and you remained this inspiration ever since. While taking lessons and learning "classical" Flamenco, there is always at least one song of yours, that I'm practising along. A great part of my motivation in learning Flamenco is to some day be able to play some of your songs and arrangements.
So what I want to say is: it is YOUR music, that can be heard, here in my rooms, every day, when I practise your songs. And it is YOUR songs, that I will still be playing, in 10 years, in 20 years. THIS is what I mean, when I say: you will not be forgotten, and you live on. You live on in my memory, and in the people playing your songs.
This goes from Germany to Ben Woods.
I've just found out about Ben passing away. I was deeply moved by his battle, especially by the latest hand held video in which he asked for positive thoughts since the treatment hadn't been working. Your comment beautifully encapsulates how I'm feeling right now. Ben was one of my biggest inspirations. During Covid I would almost religiously practice his arrangement of entre dos agues. My channel is built around the idea of mixing rock with flamenco, which is the style he invented. I always wanted to cover his songs, but never felt ready. I exchanged a few messages with Ben, asking for tips and mentioning working on a cover video. However I would always say to myself that I should wait until my fingers are faster, rasgueos tighter, alzapua more precise etc. I wanted it to be able to play it perfectly before showing it to Ben. I feel so foolish now. Who cares how badly I would perform it. I could've showed my appreciation of his work, and I chose not to. Time waits for no one. His music will live on. A wonderful person with a truly remarkable innovative ideas.
He really was a good guy, he took time out to chat with us in comments. He had a great sense of humor.
So sad he passed away. He left behind good tunes, he will remembered as a great musician.
RIP Ben Woods. You were my best inspiration to flamenco music. You will always be remembered and stay close to my heart. 🙏😢🎸🎸
I was extremely saddened knowing Ben gave up his fight against cancer earlier this week.
A brilliant musician and talented guitar player, you will always remain one of the most inspiring artists for me!

I heard the bad news today. First, the positive, that you know your music will be here forever and when I am able to I will come here to enjoy it in the future. You were my introduction to enjoying flamenco and classical guitar music.
More than that, though, Ben, you were a kind person with a great sense of humor as demonstrated in your "Breakin' the Law" video. You often took time to respond to comments and treated me like an old friend you hadn't seen in a while even though we're technically strangers who only correspond on RUclips comment sections.
It's funny in a sad way that we only learn things about people after they're gone, like that we were born in the same year - that explains the Starblazers theme video, which is still one of my favorite videos of all time.
I guess the silver lining is that when it's my time we'll finally meet in person. I always had this dream that if I won the lottery I'd ask you to do private shows and maybe follow you around Europe for a season.

Radio surgery New York. Doing radio surgery on inoperable tumors and also Slone Kettering (where I went for my own cancer treetment) again they are on the cutting edge of doing what others cant. I know this is east coast but at least give them a call and see what they say. They may be able to tell you whats what if you send them your medical records without comming out to east coast. But hassle or not its woth everything to have the best care. Anyway I hope this message gets to you. God bless you.
