It's a Sunday night-Freezing cold weather-10 inches of snow coming-repair companies covered up with service calls-and I've got a furnace that decides to come on and then shut off. I watched your video about cleaning flame sensor and tried it! GREAT DAY in the MORNING!!!!!!!!!! It worked! I estimate that you saved me about 300.00 bucks! I can't thank you enough! My whole family THANKS YOU! Keep up the good work!

Let me say this thank you and God bless, husband works for city and has been out all night plowing snow . We have 2 boys and I am currently pregnant and can't afford to get sick lol I was able to fix this myself while he is at work. I speak for myself but if you started a PayPal donation account I am pretty sure people like me would donate 10 or 20 dollars to you for your knowledge and the fact that you saved us on paying for a $300.00 house call! God bless once again...
this is the second video this week that has bailed my family out big time. ive been a plumber and now a furnace tech this week both fixed with youtube videos from people like yourself. god bless
Thank you so much! The heating guy came, said our flame sensor is dirty, needs to be cleaned for $227.00 or replaced for the same amount. After watching your video and three minutes later its done and working like new!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much. After a long day at work with the flu and being 5 months pregnant going home to a cold house was dreadful. I'm blessed to say you saved me money and the stress of figuring how to keep warm tonight. GOD BLESS YOU.
Now as a UK citizen I LOVE the term "Furnace"! In the UK we have boilers. Furnaces for us are things that melt metal, burn dead bodies etc. Furnace is WAY MORE EXCITING!
Just spent several hundred dollars on a hvac tech who could not determine the problem. Spent 5 minutes following your directions and it now works fine. One more time I should have gone to RUclips first
I want to say thank you so much last night, my family and I had a cold night. I came across this video today and I did as you said and now the heat is working fine. I really appreciate you taking the time to making this video may you be blessed.. PS. Now it's seem like I'm the man.. I'm a handy man.. lol thanks again..
Hey Coach. I watched a dozen different videos, and all of you HVAC guys who posts How-to videos on RUclips "Thank You" so much. Believe it or not, it's Christmas Eve and the furnace decided to take some extra time off. And we called somebody to come out and there were no takers, and this close to Christmas I didn't want to shell out a couple hundred bucks for a technician to come out. So, I went through all the videos, and several trips downstairs, we have a horizontal Goodman, and at first I thought it was the igniter, but once I got the side panel off, I could see the igniter lighting up, then the gas would come on, but immediately shut itself off. Strike One. So I came up again and watched several more videos, posted by your hero Santa Claus "good will towards men" types, and got a good explanation on how the heat sensor works, and how that could be the most obvious problem. So after an hour of watching videos, and getting up the confidence, I grabbed a piece of fine grit sandpaper, pulled out the heat sensor, and noticed it was very dirty. I sanded it down gently, to where it was shiny, and reinstalled it. I checked the other lines too while I was at up. Turned on the safety switch, and low and behold, there IS a Santa Clause. It's been running now for a good ten minutes and Mom and the dogs and cats and warm and cozy again. All is good with the world, until tomorrow's drama rears its humbug head. I just wanted to shout a sincere and respectful "Thank You". For saving me $200 bucks and putting us back as ease.
Thank you! You just saved this single mom a ton of money by not needing to call someone out to fix my furnace! I appreciate you taking your time to make this.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what was wrong with my furnace. I fixed it in 15 minutes--the hardest part was getting out the retaining screw on the flame sensor.
OMG I can't thank you enough. After hiring several HVAC people to do mediocre work and finally saying I needed to spend about $4,000 on a new unit, I was fortunate enough to see your video. Not good with DIY projects at all but your video made it so simple! You're a life saver as it's 30 degrees (F) here, it's the day after Xmas and the unit decided to shut down. Thank you!
You are the best hands down my family and i were out of heat in the house for 2 days and came across this video and tried it and works thanks to you we have heat again👍👍
I will like to really thank you for making this video about the furnace keep shutting off. I had to sleep without heat last night and my home was as low as 50 degrees. Today I save money by watching your video and have a warm house for my family. Thank you and God bless! Please keep doing your videos they really are helpful.
Thank you , I felt it was a simple thing but the heater would come on after three or 4 cycles to trying to start and stay started. I can see from just looking at several comments on this video that there are a lot of grateful people, as am I. Blessings to you Mr. FIX IT!
This video just absolutely saved our family in the snap freeze today, just a simple cleaning of the sensor and we were back to normal. Thank you soooooo much for making this video!!!
You are a life saver. And money. Thanks for this video. I literally have been freezing in my house waiting for Monday to come so I could get a serviceman out. Watched your video and did it myself. Thanks a million.
I thought i was going to have to call a heating person tomorrow but after viewing your video, I was able to solve my problem. Thank you so much for your wonderful video. God Bless!
I also wish I can give you more than one thumbs up. I thought I needed to buy a new furnace that would have cost me a few thousand dollars, but I followed your instructions and WALLA!!! My furnace is back operational. Thank you so much. 👍👍😊😊
This is a great tutorial. Unfortunately my situation is different I am changing out the inducer motor. So since I am there I also ordered a flame sensor to change out. My furnace is around 15 years old. So I am just going to replace it. It was only $8. But I will put a reminder in my phone to clean it every year. I may even reference your video in my reminder. Thank you

You just saved me a HVAC call!!! Thank you so much :D Took a slight bit of sand paper to the sensor, lightly took off the corrosion, and the furnace fired up (and stayed on). I think it solved the problem. YOU ROCK!!!
Thank you been out of town for work . My wife told me the heater wasnt working correctly. Just got home and its snowing outside . Thanks to this video the heater is up and running again!!!!
Thank you for your video. This worked. I don't think the sensor had been cleaned since it was installed 12 years ago. And it didn't even look that dirty. Bless you. It's 17 degrees outside, but it's already getting warmer in our home.
You saved me tonight! I was trying everything to fix my furnace in negative degree temps and this immediately worked like a charm! Seriously you are a godsend!
Wow! My furnace was doing this exact thing. Thanks a LOT for doing this video. 23 degrees outside today. This just saved me an $85 house call for diagnosis, then likely another $150.oo to "repair".
Great short video and right to the point and the fix. My issue was exactly as he described it. I just did exactly what he suggested and it worked!! I still have the old piece from the last guy who did furnace fix (same issue) and he charged me over $200 for part and labor. Thank you for sharing!! I can only imagine the thumbs down is from the repair guy.
Thank you so much for this quick and informative video. I was feeling exceptionally cold in the house, noticed that the heat was cycling on and off too frequently, and it was blowing cold air. Watched your video, a 1/4 inch socket, some 7000 Grit sandpaper, and I have heat once again!
Just want to thank you for saving me $700ish for a repair that cost me $0. I turned on your video and my malfunctioning heater at the same time and it was like you were talking about my money pit. Thank you very much! 😊
Wow! THANK YOU! I'm going out of town tomorrow and my heat went out this morning. There are others living in my home and I would have needed to call an emergency Heating & Air serviceman to fix this today. Your advice was simple and correct! Amazing!

Thank you for this I did everything that was shown. Parents have been having the longest problem with this. Able to troubleshoot it and get to up and running during the winter season. Thank you again!!!
1:50am, temperature dipping, and suddenly no heat. Found your video. Removed and sanded the flame sensor then reinstalled. 2:13am We have heat! Thank you so much for posting your video!
This guy is spot on. I replaced the flame sensor , cleaned the burners, changed the filters which worked a couple of years ago when my trane xb would not stay lit. Just beware if u have a nest thermostat with a low internal battery, if u still can’t get it to stay lit, pull the thermostat off the wall and charge it up for an hour or so - - after that it was good to go.
it took me longer to watch this video than to fix the issue after watching this awesome video. Saved big bucks and had the heat up and running in 2-minutes from 54 to 70.
You are awesome. I figured it was that thing, but thought it was the thermo couple and didn't know what to do with it. Cleaned it and my family is warm again! Thank you!

Thank you
Woke up to no heat, did this exact thing and it now works! Saved me lots of $ for a weekend service call, thank you!!!

Thank you for your video. This worked. I don't think the sensor had been cleaned since it was installed 12 years ago. And it didn't even look that dirty. Bless you. It's 17 degrees outside, but it's already getting warmer in our home.
Glad it helped. Great routine every season.

Glad it helped
