Cows Wont eat and it will be red if you try to graze them on a field thats had Compost? I graze my Cows on my fruit orchards and it makes them put out way more fruit -
Micro managing your herds to graze on farms does not seem feasible, it does make sense to make them graze in the area that you plan on building the next farm at. Giving that new farm a high fertility boost will allow you to get a quick crop out while the older farms need to get their fertility back up without impacting your crop rotation too much. Also, might be worth it to upgrade the road coming from your iron mines into the town. Iron seems to be decent, but with it providing stone production in that area as well it'll help in getting a steady supply
It is worth waiting for two traders to appear. Sometimes one sells things cheaply that the other wants to buy. I made a fortune buying and selling shirts : D FYI - you laughed that the workers carried all the barrels to an empty warehouse, but in fact when those barrels were delivered that very warehouse was full. You can see that right after you bought the barrels :)
Great episode. You may want to consider putting a tower by your barns, providing them total coverage. If raiders attack from the west, I feel like they’ll slaughter your herd and burn your barns before getting in range of the current tower.
The question I have about logs is how cheap are they from a traveling merchant? Do they cost 1 gold, or less, which would have a huge impact on if I want to spend 1 gold and a few other resources to plant trees to be harvested as wood once they are mature, or buy from the merchant.
I do a little micromanagment. At the start of winter I take the farmers and make them workers and put them back in late december. its 21 more workers for 3 month (in my case). Second thing is that I found that the fruit-trees (sorry, i dont know the right word) need a different fertality than the rest. so when i wanted to plant them at one of my "greenest" places, the area was brown. I let the cows live between the trees (they dont eat the apples) but I did no have time to find out, if the ground is now less good for the trees.
I've already spotted a few things where AI can use some work. Noteably the cellar with all the barrels should get a storage priority for anything that can spoil because, logically, that ensures food isn't wasted. It defeats the 'survival' aspect if the villagers leave all their food to spoil just because bringing it over to the place where it won't takes time. And if there are cellars near the food producers those shoud get a priority for receiving barrels to prevent spoilage. Ugh, sorry about that. I *loathe* these little mistakes that only frustrate the player because IT'S COMMON SENSE!
I think I mentioned this already in a prior video, but I think of wolf dens as a constant supply of meat, hide and tallow, as long as your hunters don't destroy it. You may want to install hunter cabins fair enough away so three hunters stay busy taking out any wolves that appear. I think 3 hunters can work together fairly often just in case more than one wolf should venture out towards your town closely together.
I believe that little bar that moves along the season timeframe has a button that maintains active information on the weather. If changes color when you hover over it.
yeah the button keeps the year and temperature text visible. I prefer a cleaner UI though so I just hover over it when I want to know. There's a weather symbol next to the timeline on the left that lets you know too.
I always drop my farmers and foragers into labor and builders during the winter months. Easy logs and stone. I sent my cows to graze my farm but I don't do it on the years when no clover is being produced. The other two years start with clover. Seems to work.
Anyone know how to improve travel time, its brutal at the moment. I had 3 hunter shacks, 1 fish, two smokers a fire wood chopper, a well, and the .... storage pit thing food. About 20 squares away from there homes. And the travel time was still in the red.
Still the best Farthest Frontier let's play on RUclips! On another note, wouldn't a statue be more appropriate in the memory of Sartorias? Isn't there one that looks like a fighter?
Pre 0.7.4 HF2 clay was much more limited on a map. From the notes: "Clay Deposit generation rates and sizes increased for some biomes. In short: moar clay. This change is not retroactive." So if another streamer was playing a game started before the hotfix they wont have as much clay.
Putting the cows on the farms to graze didn't work for me either. The pasture placement turned red when I placed it over the farm, which I think means they can't graze there. I think the only way it works is what you're doing, get them to graze at places where you want to place farms later. I think (although I can't say this for sure) when my cows pasture was next to my farms the fertility was better.
makes one wish that you could yell at Darren that a trader is in go look, this needs done like you said you were going to do. Enjoying this series and i perfer it over other RUclipsrs that are doing it with larger subs. Darrem takes the time to explain things instead of just doing which helps a lot and i think makes it more desireable to watch.
I'm a big fan of anno 1800 and I really enjoy this game, the only time it got a bit stale for me is when I reached the current highest tiers, but they are working on more tiers and more buildings (by the looks of it anyway) so I'm sure that will change then. If you played anything like settlement survival or banished and liked it then it's more than likely for you too.
I enjoy the game, I would personally wait for an update to iron out some bugs and maybe add some quality of life features to the ui. Its fun, but I really dont consider it much like Anno. Population dont have tiers nor class. You dont have trade routes. You dont have competitors. Its just a colony builder where you try to sustain a bigger and bigger town to stave off larger and larger raids!
haha that's interesting, but I think watch "time" counts the time of the video being played. I don't think RUclips tracks your personal time watching a video. So play it on 2x speed and watch 2 videos would probably be better ;)
The whole constant "Food is low" is hurting what could be a fun game. The entire food gathering, processing, storing and distribution is tedious, boring and too vague.
It only takes 1 person to work it and it makes 16 gold per month, plus that person delivers the food to everyone. The alternative would be moving all the other houses + market to the right until the radius hits the edge of the lake, and also you could just build the city in a grid with 2x2 house estates with 2x1 reserved for parks/decor. But seeing as I'm not trying to be optimal, and just have a more natural looking city, I think a market down by the lake is kinda nice
You can set grazing in the fruit fields - it increases fertility and fodder quality is great.

Loving the series, perfect mix of relaxing build & tense fights/challenges overcome
The strategy and beauty building that made me subscribe.
IT'S BEEN 2 DAYS WHERE IS THE NEW EPISODEEEEEEEEE 😭😭, best let's play as always from you Darren.

Nice to see you are making the place look nicer. I do enjoy watching it.

The fork can be a nice place for a shrine with plaza tiles and vegetation.

Cheese. What can be more necessary?
I need some guards to keep the peasants from drinking the milk.

You could put your important buildings inside walls inside your city walls, like a castle. Raiders will storm towards your most valuable rescources.
Indeed, but a lot of players may not be historians of fortifications used throughout history and which ones were the most effective.
In the real world, clover is dangerous for cattle to ingest. Kinda makes sense that your cattle die grazing on clover fields.

LOL, you are one to push for remembering the heroes and I think you have kept this up for a few videos now.

Hmmm it was the day before yesterday they just started… 🤔
@@WhatDarrenPlays I just did a game with advanced settings and everything on the hard (farthest right) setting. No clay...
i have a decent amount of clay and sand for my village, but no natural sources of iron :(
Make few wall near river for emergency it's make sense in real life not in game but it's kinda feel nice 🙂
Upgrade all the wells 😉

I like the series, I just find it strange that the city hall is next to industry.
I am sure you mean town center. Sort of suggests it should be in the center of town, lol.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.
I don't think my food is rotting-
It literally all is.
Cows literally die IRL when they eat clover... So...
I was watching the show Yellowstone, didn't they kill cows by spreading clover over the fields or was it something else?
Dang, I don't remember.
Really thinking of buying the game, kinda reserved since it's Early Access though...
Would you recommend it for someone that enjoyed Anno 1800 a lot?

watch towers behind Fences and stone walls have better defense :)
At this point you still haven't built a candle maker yet..?
Houses don't need fences, do they?
nope

Yay cheese is it Camembert or a brie
There are a few more varieties, you know? ;) Darren said it was cheddar.
