    I can't believe all that you've done in 1 year. I remember watching your early videos about departing during the 2020 lockdown. At the time you thought you 2 were crazy. Now I think you 2 are brilliant.

    Such an amazing year you guys!!!! from leaving TO at the start of this garbage to getting down to the warm weather and water!! As a fellow Torontonian I love seeing what you guys get up to and what you've got up to each video.....even the mundane is freeing for me! Love the videos, you guys and the stuff you're doing, life long follower here. Cant wait to see where you go and what you get up to

    You two are an inspiration. There's no drama just good quality fun. You make sailing look easy.
    I'm curious what you did before sailing, what jobs did you do. Did they contribute to the decision to up sticks?

    Steph, your explanation was excellent so we can understand the hoops you need to jump through for each of these island hops you do. Complications of a pandemic just add a whole other level to bureaucratic processes.

    I LOVE watching you guys! You keep me inspired to do this someday! I really hope you guys didn't do a video on this topic already and I just missed it, but you should do a numbers video about how you came to own the boat, what you do to sustain sailing (for income I mean, like just Patreon, have a hefty savings you're pulling from?), and what your plans for the future are (retirement?). My husband and I want to do this someday, I'm currently a travel nurse, 26 years old and plan to be fully retired by the time I'm 36 (to do this!). But I def want a decent savings and a good investment portfolio before we leave, so I always get curious when I see young people like me doing this, living the dream, and just wander if I can speed it up any??? Lol Anyhoo, congrats on a second season, can't wait to see your adventures continue!

      Love it!! We set a date on leaving which instilled a huge drive in us to just make it happen. We lived super basic and frugally, dumped everything we earned into savings to leave comfortably and started side businesses outside of our full time jobs near the end as well. RUclips and patreon help us out a lot while out here too. Our big thing was putting a date on leavin 😊 maybe we’ll see you out there one day!

    A suggestion for season 2; get some "temp" support crew for a few sails. Brian at Delos seems to have found a good formula (wink wink Trav) but the views prove it works to add views... Just have to sell Steph on the idea :) Also, do a bit more buddy boat type visits and other peoples boat tours. They are always fun to watch! Great first year. Hopefully I will have my 41' Morgan OI in the Caribbean for next November. Finally can travel from Canada to the USA to work on it....

    Florida is 100% no COVID bullship right now. I know it isn't all trendy like the Caribbean islands but I just can't see how jumping through all those hoops right now can be worth it.

  • @MrDa89soup
    @MrDa89soup 2 года назад +1

    • @SailingJibsea

  • @JS-sx3bl

    Go ABC islands perhaps. Good new intro but your voice recording mic level seems a bit distant, to make it better perhaps try recording it under a sheet or a sound box wold warm it up… and it’s also fast. I know it sounds small to add constructive criticism but I’d say your channel is far better than most with 100 k. plus. I want you to succeed in your success through RUclips and go big quicker.
    Cheers you all
    J.

    • @SailingJibsea
      @SailingJibsea  2 года назад

      Funny you noticed that! Lol. I actually forgot to apply a voiceover preset I usually use. So in a few episodes, you’ll probably see a difference in the mic level in the intro. Thanks so much! The constructive criticism helps us out to grow! Cheers ☺️

    Luckily when /if you come to America all you have to do is go to the Mexico /USA border and hop right in. Not any kind of checks, tests or quarantining going on down there.

    • @svbarryduckworth628
      @svbarryduckworth628 2 года назад

      Cruising in the US is so much simpler. The Islands used to be expensive enough before. With all the added costs and bullshit of COVID we feel it just isn't worth it right now. The Florida keys are beautiful and fresh veg at the grocery store is cheap and available.

    • @aslmx1918

    Whatever you guys decide I am sure it will be great. During you video, you can see the boat sway back and forward, not so much you though, Good thing I don't get sea sick just watching..lol.
    Wow! 3 trips for groceries, your not hungry are you? LOL.
    Damn, alot of paperwork just to visit for a short while. Presently, USA has no restrictions here in Florida, unless you are coming from Africa. All Mandates have been cancelled per Supreme Court. The CDC and Dr. Fauci are pending possible charges for falsifying information to the American people. They were questioned by our Judicial system last week, not looking good for them.
    Goodbye Grenada!! Happy Sailing, see ya soon!
