Thanks for the information. I'm a big dude and I needed this bit of information to get more torque from my 66cc. I really don't care much for speed, I'm happy going 15mph.
Thank you.I have a 50t,and when I went into my first trail I said to myself,"I wish I'd been able to find a 56,or 60". I set one on 'Watch'last night. Now I'm just going to buy it.Happy Trail LA.
Excellent to see that the Motorised Bicycles, Mountain Bike based, with the correct sprocket can make for fun riding off road. These engine kits are normally seen on road run bikes. The biggest question that i have come across; in almost all video''s watched; is how fast does it go. Remember that it is still a Bicycle. I live in South Africa and have been built about 25 Motorised Bicycles over the last 6 years. Two have been 49cc OHV four stroke engines in the Aluminium frames with built in fuel tank. One in full camo with a 59t rear sprocket for trail rides, the other "Black Knight" for road with full lights and carrier. Keep the motors running and enjoy the "öff roads".
It's obvious that 56t sprocket was the perfect choice for what you like to do. It's always great to see something work out as perfectly as that one did, and with actual "high quality" video to prove it. PS: Although I wouldn't trust a "clamp-on" chain tensioner myself, I could not help but notice how well your "improvised" spring-loaded chain tensioner seemed to be working, under harsh conditions.
Normally Amazon has it, but looks like they are out of stock atm... Looks like ebay and a few other places have it. CDHPOWER Multifunctional 56 Teeth Sprocket
Hey bud . Some more tips if you want to know what I did today , i drilled and tapped out my engine mount bolt holes , on the bottom of the crank case , I made them at 5/16 -24 , and now my engine mounts will never snap , Ive had them brake before and usually I just extract them and add new ones but it never dawned on me to make the mount bolts bigger , so I did , also you can add a set screw to your bicycle sprocket adapter , just like you did With your own key , the set screw will just add more strength
That’s funny , I love these kits , the only regular problem I have with them is the rag joint ! , I’ve lost many wheels and a motor or 2 because of the fact the rag join fails and destroys everything in the process , I’ve stuck to just welding the sprocket to a steel rim in a few places , i don’t even need chain tensioner or guide because I cut my chain to be as short as possible . I can’t even take the wheel off unless I remove the master link from the chain , I also drill a hole through my bike frame and the bottom of the motor crank case where it mounts to the bike and I tap some threads in it and send a bolt through my bike frame and into the motor in between the 2 original mounting bolts , just don’t go too deep or you will go through and cause a leak in the crankcase, I’ve had problems with the mounting bolts snapping in the front and I end up having to remove the entire engine to remove the snapped off bolt and replace it with hardened steel ones and still dose sent hold up , so when I out that bolt through the frame and into the motor it really holds it down and stops the motor from trying to move when I drop the clutch
Wish there wasn't the "screen in a screen" as it acts as a distraction for me. Maybe once in awhile, but constantly makes it hard to watch the video. Like how the 56 tooth sprocket works.
The trail ride was fun to watch for sure and then the great info in the commentary. If you know a wood worker, they may have a spindle sander and with a piece of two sided tape or a piece of stick on sand paper you can get your diameter pretty close on aluminum hub adapters !
amazon search for this "CDHPOWER Multifunctional 56 Teeth Sprocket -2 Stroke Gas Engine Motor Gas Motorized Bicycle" It will mount to nearly anything :)
Nice trailing👍. I have never broken a spoke either with the rag joint or even bent a spoke and was making 4-5hp on one engine and 6+HP on another , I just make sure they are tight so it doesn't move and as center as possible. Is your engine stock or did you have any porting done? 🚲💨💨💨
Sweet ,right too the Point,if you don't like it,,,,,,,DON'T WATCH,,,! EXCELLENT info the sprocket looks tough,,HOW many chain links, did you add ? Or did you have enough chain ?NOT too many people are doing this,,,! A LOT of guys,do dirt biking riding, your stuff is put in plan and simple word's,thanks I'm learning more every time I WATCH, RIDE ON,,,,THAT young guy in the background,,,is he your next camara man,,,how's his build running ?
Thank you Friend! The stock chain that comes with the original kit was long enough for the bike. I had to put back on about 3 links that I had taken off when running the 44tooth. That fellow would be my Dad, and he helps with the camera work from time to time :)... His little Huffy build is still running great, Fixed the leaky carb issue, and just need to do a little chain adjusting.
I am making my "trail build" bike for where I live (Northern Canada), it is not legal to ride a motorized bike on official roads.... but no one really bothers you in remote areas obviously. Can you give me a list of examples on what the biggest differences were after going 44 tooth to 56 tooth? I just ordered one of these sprockets hoping it would help me driving at a slower pace with more power and climbing steeper hills without needing to peddle. Also... would you highly recommend the spring loaded tensioner for the chain or no? I've never used one and was thinking about getting one of those aswell. Thanks!
Thanks for the questions. I'll be making an update video on this bike today (should be up in a few days), in witch I should be able to answer most if not all of your questions here. :) keep an eye out for it.
@@LAHover Sure. I really do enjoy your videos. I have to say, I'm 68 years old and have led a full and active life. I have a 16" Chromebook that I watch these videos on at my desk. The reason I mention my age is that my ability to concentrate depends more and more on having very few distractions. The extra screens were just too much. Nothing personal, others may enjoy them but, father time has taken a bit of a toll... As an aside, due to these videos, retirement and boredom... I've just ordered a PK80 for my old mountain bike. I'm a dab hand mechanic, worked on my cars and motorcycles all my adult life. I can do this, BUT. Wish me luck?

Is it possible to loctite the clamp on?
Yes, wont help with slipping, but will help keep it together
Another awsome video.

I Like that its a on off road bike .Love mine . And cheap so you can have two. Great video.
Do tell us, gearheads, about torque. Differently than others, speed seekers, we want to be able to climb hills. What is your input on the 56? Thanks.
Great video, once the engine is running can you take off from a dead stop when you let in the clutch without stalling on level smooth ground.
Yes, but it's a slow start and not practical in the long run. However on a 26" build it's more practical.
ROCK IT OUT MAN! I USE MINE FOR TRANSPORTATION SO IM REALLY DIGGIN SOME OFF ROAD ACTION.
