The most fascinating aspect of the human race is that the human heart can generate hate, crime, war, and a multitude of other nefarious things. And then it can generate things like this, songs about life and love. We are odd beings. I thank the Universe for giving us a man like Neil Young who came at the right time. Peace and love to all who read this.
Thanks, jeddyhi for mentioning that. But it is only when something gets in the way of the heart that the human race generates things like those vile expressions. When the heart is open, it expresses only life and love. At least, that's the way I see it. Thanks.

To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary we booked a Caribbean cruise. Unbeknown to us, our four children surprise us with a honeymoon package. After the Capt. renews our vows we dance the night away with Neil Young and Harvest Moon. To say that we had the time of our life for 6 beautiful romantic nights is the understatement of the century!
A dedication to his late wife, the beautiful Pegi Young, that he was so in love with and shared two beautiful children. I want to see them dance again in heaven....
Instantly transported back to 93 the moment that guitar begins. My heart aches a bittersweet ache yet still filled with happiness. Absolutely cuts right through all of the BS nonsense of today's world. ❤️❤️
I'm reading this in Sept. 2024 after watching Neil Young's outstanding video performance of Harvest Moon on the Tonight Show again. Your words still ring true today for sure. Btw, this was in 1993 basically before the internet came to be along with its pros and cons. Or as you say "BS nonsense of today's world". Coincidence that it's all been downhill since then?
Me and my wife were walking hand-in-hand on the beach in Santorini and this song came echoing out of a taverna it was absolutely wonderful in a little bit of home half a world away music knows no boundaries

(I grew up listening to Harvest/ After the gold rush) Some years ago when a friend asked me why I was moving to Canada, I said - Cause it's Neil Young country 😇
I remember this. I thought at the time "Man he looks so old" Now Im older than he was here. His voice is so crystaline ghosty here. So glad he had that late 80s early 90s comeback when I was still a kid. Made quite the impression on my musical mind and heart. 🌒 Beautiful performance..♥️
Neil is so diversified. I played this song in my list of wedding songs as a disc jockey, who would have thought Neil could do this. He's a brilliant, talented artist and song writer.
I remember seeing this the night it aired. It changed my life. That Martin D-45 tuned drop D, those harmonics...that's the sound I've been chasing for decades!
Your cover was certainly a very accurate and beautiful tribute mate! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I uploaded my own today and realise now how much work I need to put into my ukulele :P
Neil put it all out there for this album and this song. this performance of it is spot on. bought the album when it first came out. I was in university staying in a basement of a big old party house. still listen to harvest moon regularly.... "because I'm still in love with you!"
I'll never forget this performance. My wife and I had just finished making love, laying in bed cuddling when this came on. I laid there hugging her and silently wept in joy.
Been a fan all my life, seen him live 6 or 7 times and this album only proved how ageless his talent is. He never stops exploring the boundaries of great music. Will always treasure his music, fabric of my life.
Went to a Neil concert as a young boy and was amazed by his vocals and guitar skills, I can’t remember if he played this song, but this is my favorite.

Neil loves trains. So much so that he bought a controlling interest Lionel Trains because of, and for, his son that has cerebral palsy. Neil invented the "red button" for Lionel Trains so his son could control the trains easier. Many great articles about it. And... is part 2 around ?
Tacoma Paul, the other song performed on that evening is "Unknown Legend", which is on my playlist for Neil.... Yes, Neil is an avid fan of train sets. It only makes sense that he'd want his son, and any other child who had the same condition, to be able to enjoy the thrills such a hobby would give.... Mr. Young has made a difference in this world, for those he knows, and those he's never met, and the world is richer for it ;)Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Loved that Neil played the 12th fret harmonics. Most guitar players playing this song solo would’ve went straight to the rhythm strumming after that D chord main riff…
Neil Young is my favorite artist for over 40 years. Love this video! I don't know how he does it but he sounds just like he did on the album. Great song & video. Love the part about the plants, train & motorcycle.
That Martin...,that's smooth as silk, & with a little tye-dye thrown in for good measure...,and the drop D tuning, a trademark....,and the major 7th harmony..,another NY staple...,and so he's got all this in his bag'o'trix and miraculously comes up with an original "feel" song...,transcendental...,in time and beyond time all at the same time.
He is so humble, he did not say a word to promote his album. Im sure he did all this just to kill time. He is a living legend 🙌 👏 ❤ You are all I listen too.

I love Neil, and that song is one of the most beautiful acoustic ever; but (I know he's joking round) he wouldn't be doing that with the plants today. Now he writes songs about how we produce too much carbondioxide - which is what plants live on - and he's not joking round .

Easily one of the most beautiful songs in history.

One of the most beautiful songs he has ever written
Thirty years later this performance stands the test of time and is so beautiful for its raw simplicity and emotion.
2023 and its still beautiful. Incredible Artist.
I love the absolute silence from the audience while he performed. Stunningly beautiful song and voice
He still has all his groove in 2019 - saw him in july and it was an exceptional gig . 🤗😊
He's pretty quiet too, that had a lot to do with it.
